Hi, I'm just two and a half weeks out from surgery (Dec. 18th) and getting a little nervous. I found BariaticPal web site in some of the handouts I received from my Dr's office. I'm a newbie to all of this, so any help I can get will be appreciated.
I start the 2 week pre-op diet Wed. Dec. 4th and I hope to do well and follow the diet the best I can. I really want to be in the best shape possible for the day of surgery. I keep telling myself sticking to this diet will decrease possible complications after surgery.
I started my journey in September after learning about the VSG. I feel this is the best option for me. I've not been overweight until after childbirth and a complete hysterectomy. But now after being diagnosed with sleep apnea I feel I need more tools to reach my goal weight and live a healthy life. My children are grown, and I now want to enjoy my grandchildren and try some new adventures.
My mission statement is "Less weight equals greater life!"
( <weight = >life ! )

I'm now 4weeks post-op. I just had my check-up today and I've lost 25lbs so far. Yeah. I'm still on phase two eating soft or purée food, but getting in all of my protein and fluids. I don't get hungry, I don't have cravings but I'm missing veggies. I will continue to work the program so I can lose the most weight in the safest way. Also I've been clear to start some exercising with light weights and light cardio work. Yeah.
