Let us all pray that the families of the two eight year old girls, Laura Hobbs and Krystal Tobias, will find the strength to carry on and find comfort in the Lords love. The two little girls bodies were found at dawn yesterday morning in a park in Zion, Il. They apparently were stabbed to death. They had gone out sunday afternoon for a bike ride and never returned home. Solace can be found in the fact that they were best friends and were each others shadows everywhere they went and that their spirits will remain that way for eternity. I cannot imagine outliving my children but the way these children were taken has got to be unbearable for the families. So please, when you are on bended knee tonight remember their families in your prayers and ask the Lord to provide them with the strength to sustain and for the speedy apprehension of the muderer/s so that justice can be served. (does Il have the death penalty?) You know, You never make it through this kind of thing because there is no other side to it. It will be with you forever. All you can hope for is to be able to bare down and keep pushing day by day. In times like this you must Let go and Let God.

A hamburger walks into a bar and the bartender says, "Hey get out of here! We don't serve food here!" A battery walks into the same bar and the bartender says, "I'll serve ya but don't start anything." Groans please :-)

I bought Saw and thought it was great. I had no idea that the Movie was made by a couple of college grad students on a very, very limited budget. I believe less than 500K which is nothing for a movie these days. Pretty clever plot.

"I got some Ice Cream, I got some Ice cream, And you don't. (then he drops it on the ground and starts crying while all his friends start laughing at him... ) How about him talking about his mom would never take him to McDonalds but all his friends parents would take them and they woud come back flaunting their hamburgers in his face. He would go crying to his mother and she would say to him that he didn't need a McDonalds Hamburger and that hers were much better. So she would cook him up this giant patty would big onion abd bell pepper pieces hanging out the sides. Hilarious, but his delivery is probably better than reading it in this thread. How about the uncle starting the grill with a mason jar of gasoline. That was called RAW and it was great. The language was very bad though. have you seen the Dave Chappel show where he is Rick James and Charlie Murphy (Eddies brother) as himself. Now that is Funny.

I am late on this I know. Just saw the thread. My wife and I wanted to see Oceans 12 but hadn't seen Oceans 11 yet. So we rented that one first. The critic s gave both a bad review. Maybe it's just us but I thought they were both good flicks. I am sort of a movie snob and don't go for low budget flicks or ones with bad producers. On the other hand I usually think that too many cooks ruin the stew. Translated as too many stars in a movie can make it lousy if everyone is trying to earn a 20 million dollar paycheck while having their egos pampered. However Oceans 11/12 had plenty of stars and still had legs. I was really happy to see Elliot Gould, one of my All time faves. He is great and very underrated. But I admit I do cry at some chick flicks.......But I also cried while watching Saving private Ryan. Did I lose too many macho points? I hope not. Perhaps I can recoup them by watching "Once Upon a Time in the west" with Henry Fonda, the greatest actor ever. :-) Oh, And don't forget anything with Gary Oldman, Another underrated but great actor.

OK for those of you who reallyu want to get freaked out check out these websites. You can find great pictures and even some EVPS' (Electro Voice Phenomena) Yes I am a freak but I have grown up on this stuff and if I ever get a chance I want to join up with some of these ghost hunters and go on some of their journeys. http://theshadowlands.net/ghost/ http://www.zerotime.com/ghosts/ http://www.fortunecity.com/roswell/shelly/43/haunted.html http://www.prairieghosts.com/ http://www.whitington.com/txhaunts/ and my personal favorite because it has some crazy pictures. (no I don't believe them all) especially since growing up with all this around me I have never ever seen a physical manifestation. Anyway....... http://ghoststudy.com/index.html Have fun. Some interesting things. I especially like EVPS and videos the most. Photos of orbs are boring to me. The stroies are great too.

Hey I'm a believer. I grew up in a haunted house. My mother told me that things didn't start happeing in the house until my Grandmother bought a farm in Mcalester, OK. Hey wait a minute. we live in Texas. Well the story goes that behind my grandmothers farm was an old Indian Burial ground in the woods and it was haunted. My grandmother was cherokee and always warned us to stay away because she would always hear chanting and drums off in the distance late at night. Sometimes she woudl even see what appeared to be a fire. And at times she swore she saw smoke rising from the tree line in the mornings. It was true that there were large mounds back there circled with rocks. I saw them myself last year when I went back to see her old house. (She has long since passed). Well my brother had found several arrowheads back there and brought them home and my mom swears that is when things got weird. Things in the house would come up missing. Dresser drawers would open and close. Things would fly out of the medicine cabinets. Not fall but fly across the bathrooms and slam against the wall. Pictures would be found hung on the walls upside down when we would return home. All in all though I always felt safe and never scared. Well my brother grows up and moves out after building a new house. Lo and behold strange things start happeing to him and his wife. Such as she waking up in the middle of the night with a glass of Water perfectly balanced on her stomach. Water in the jewelry box. (water is a sure sign that you have been visited) Saloon doors going intot he laundry room being torn off their hinges in the middle of the night. So they moved needless to say but things have kept following them. I have 3 sisters and 1 brother and all of us have left home with something tagging along. I had 3 cats at one time and all three would sit on the floor in the living room gazing at the ceiling as if they were watching something we couldn't see. They would just all follow the same invisable thing and then freak out and jump in my chair. My wife has been in bed and the covers start drifting down the bed toward the footboard. She yells my name and I just say, "thats enough" and it stops. Real benevelent stuff. But here is the strangest thing of all. Believe me, I have many and could right a book thick ebough to contend with War and Peace. My Father died 3 years ago. He only had 1/2 a heart and lived with a defibrolater (sp) inserted in his chest. Well my wife and I were cleaning his office a couple of days after he passed. He was a pack rat and saved everything. I found stored in the closet over 10,000 police shoulder Patches in rubbermaid bins. I had no idea he was such a collector. Anyway, I digress. I has just finished cleaning his desk and pushed his swivel chair back into the desk. My wife was vacuuming the room and about 10' from the desk. all of a sudden the chair pushed back and swiveled toward her. No one was within 10' of that chair and the vacuum hose was on the opposite side of the room. My wife hates this stuff so she skatted out of there and was as pale as a ghost herself. We never told anyone about it because we didn't want it getting back to my mom. She woudl have been upset and at the time she was upset enough. 1 year to the date we get a call from my Niece Hollie who lives in Portland OR. She was crying and said she needed to tell Lydia, My wife, Something. I put her on the line and watched her jaw hit the floor with what my niece said. My Niece told my wife that Papa came to her in a dream and asked her to tell Lydia that he didn't mean to scare her with the chair and that he was only playing and that he would take care of us...........We had never told anyone about that episode. Since then I have been left in the living room with all the lights gone out. I have had the television cut off in the critical part of a football game. And I have been locked out of the house a few times after going out to get the paper and knowing the door was unlocked. My Dad always was a practical joker and he is continuing to have his fun.

wow. unfortunately they are now unofficially suspecting the dad based on the fact that he was just released from prison in texas and moved to IL to be with his wife and kids. He and his wifes father were the ones who found the bodies. As far as prison goes Apparently he was arguing with his wife and got a chainsaw and started chasing her and other people around their trailer park with it until someone came up behind him and conked him in the back of the head with a shovel knocking his out. I know it is still early in the investigation but I hope for his sake that he has turned his life around and is not involved in this.

Hey! Hey! Hey! Take it easy on the guy......... :-) I can relate to what he did. He just had surgery and probably felt like he would never be the same again. So to prove to himself he was no different than before he jumped on that bike. I have done the same thing although I haven't had heart surgery. While in the service I was stationed in the Phillipines and got very ill once I got there. Jungle fever is what the doc called it. I was in the hospital for 2 days with IV's stuck in me getting the fluids back in. So what did I do when I got released. Went and ran a 6 mile run to qualify for the squadrons football team. How stupid I do agree. Well I did finish the run but was back in the hospital that very night with more IV's plugged in. OK...........I agree. Men are stupid. However I would love to try those mountain oysters as crazy as that sounds. Perhaps I'm fishing for any excuse to buy a new bike. Some people might call that being desperate. :-)

He is usually there in Hells gate on memorial day weekend. he has a 42' cruiser. Really nice. I am so jealous. But I get to use it too so I guess it's better than making the payments. :-) I am usually in Arkansas on that weekend. I will definitely let everyone know when we are playing. Thanks.
-
Ironically we never go to Joe Poole. My brother -in-law has a cruiser on Possum Kingdom and we go out there quite often. I am in the process of buying land just outside of Athens and hoping to build my dream home there in about 5 years. There's a place called safari waters ranch and they actually have zebra, elk and axis deer on the property. Plus they have 3 lakes stocked with Florida Bass. That's my goal. To get back to the country. I think it would be nice to drink my morning coffee while I watch Zebra in my backyard. :-) PLus I work at home so there's no commuting I have to worry about.

How cool. We are just south of I-20 just past camp wisdom. There is a new subdivision on the left as you are going south. Foxcreek is the turn-off street and we live on Wisdom creek. How wonderful. I know exactly where you guys are. We shall have to PM and arrange to meet sometime. I just got to meet Beckyintexas this weekend. She and her Husband came out to our show in the colony saturday night and we had a blast. They are some great people.

Longhorn chapter in grand prairie??? That is just down the street from my house. We live half a click from Joe Poole Lake right off of 1382. It's a small world.......but I wouldn't want to paint it...:-) Man, I have to get another scooter so we can ride sometime.
-
How Cool........ I was the big guy with the goatee playing guitar. You may have also seen me walking my Belgium Shepherd around too during breaks. We were sitting just next to the drink counter they had set up just to the left of the trikes. Man I almost bought me another Fatboy while I was there. I just sold my 02 pearl white FB cause with the band and teenage boys I never got to ride it. It was just taking up space in the garage. After 2 years I barely had 5k miles on it. Just a few more years the kiddos will be in college and maybe I will get another scooter. Man I wish we would have met. That would have been awesome. check out our website at www.souldoubtband.com

Betty, If I remember correctly you live in the Dallas area and were you at the American Eagle Anniversary Party in Corinth. If so, That was my band playing there. How cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I or did I not have surgery?????

well happy birthday Dallasdoll. Everyone deserves a treat on their birthday. My new nickname is Reebok by my friends. They are under the impression my port is a valve with a push button like on the reebok shoes. How funny. Probably a good thing it isn't or else I would be deflated all the time. -
Wow!!!!! what is up with this new VG band? two weeks ago I would have killed flipper for a tuna sandwich. Even a bowl of lard with a hair in it was sounding good. But now........ Now I can eat anything and everything as if I never had the surgery. I had ribeye last night for goodness sake. Man do I need to get this thing filled or what? I am curious. do you folks with the older band feel any restriction when you band is empty? Because I gotta tell you I woke up wondering what the heck these scars were on my belly. Surely I don't have the band.:-)

Did I or did I not have surgery?????

I am literally following doctors orders. Each doctor is different on how they instruct their patients. Some patients heal faster than others. Believe me, I didn't wake up and decided I want steak and ate it. There has been a steady progression of the foods I eat and as each is tolerated then I am free to try something different. The Doc said If I should have any problems to go back on liquids for a day or so. So far no problems and it's all good. I will in no way try bread products and hopefully will never have another piece of bread in my life. Soda? No way. Speaking as someone who used to drink 3-4 20oz mountain dews a day, everyday, I do not ever want to have another soda in my life. regular or diet. I mean I do but I don't. To me a soda is a gateway drug to everything else that is bad for me. All of this is mute anyway as I will have my fill the first week in june and am actually looking forward to the restriction. How ironic. When I couln't eat and felt restricted I hated it. Now that I am open I hate it too. -
Paula you gotta go for it......................now. Don't wait until they are older because it gets harder. I have a 14 year old and a 16 year old and have the opportunity to purchase 5 acres in the country in a secluded community with 3 lakes, Zebras, Elk and Axis deer. You would think any kid would jump on this but NO! Not mine. They don't want to change high schools and want to graduate from the one they are at now. Now in the past I would have ignored their feelings and assumed they would adjust just like when they were younger. But I have a feeling this time that the move would be a failure. Do it while they are young.

Did I or did I not have surgery?????

well I figured if I took really small pea sized bites and chewed the dickens out of it I would OK and I was. I only ate about 1/3 of the steak cause I got tired of chewing. But boy was it good. but just because I can eat doesn't mean I do. My philosphy is that a body can exist on much less than what we are used to eating. I survived just fine while on Clear Liquids. So I am watching my caloric intake but I also subscribe to the carb addicts diet by Dr. Rachel Heller. So far I am down 40 lbs since surgery and do not want to gain it back. -

Alexandra I have never been accused of THAT before. I don't know quite what to say. :-) -
Desertmom, I was banded 3 weeks ago and had a terrible time with Nausea. Phenegran didn't help nor did the other medication I paid 30.00 a pill for. What did help was drinking Water. I know you are drinking water but I bet you are dehydrated like I was. I was drinking about 36oz a day at first but man I got so dehydrated for some reason. I increased the intake and Once I got the water in and got my electrolytes in balance I was 100% better. I know you may feel like you can't drink a lot of watyer but I promise you can if you use a straw and sip on it. Then get yourself some Isopure Protein mix from smoothieking and mix 2 scoops with 12 oz of water. You will get over 50 grams of protein in the one drink. It goes down Oh so good and I promise you will feel so much better.

Well I finally put my foot down last night after she came home with 10 more. I told her she had to get that out of the house immediately. So She took it to the freezer in the garage. Figures, eh? Well it really is par for the course. I usually have the last word in our arguments. They usually end with me saying, "Yes Dear." :-)

OK Alatina so you're the one to blame. May you find yourself overstocked with Blue Bell and without a spoon. :-)
