Overeating before pre-op diet common?
tiredmama replied to flowerpower11's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am struggling with my pre-surgery eating too. I've reduced my caffeine intake significantly and I am trying to stay away from total junk but it is tough! I have started drinking a Protein shake first thing in the morning, which does seem to help me stay on track during the first few hours of the day. The afternoon is a whole other story... -

Welcome! There are several of us on this site scheduled for June 30th.

My timeline: Dec 2013: attended info session Jan 2014: initial consult Feb 2014: bloodwork, chest xray, abdominal ultrasound, approval from primary care doc March 2014: first appmt with surgeon and nutritionist; psych eval April 2014: endoscopy, follow up chest CT scan, pulmonary consult May 2014: sleep study, follow up pulmonary appmt, follow up bloodwork, insurance approval, support group meeting June 2014: second appmt with surgeon, nutrition class, 1-week pre-op diet, pre-op appointment at hospital, then surgery! BTW, this was slower than necessary due to my work schedule and preference for a summer surgery. If I had accepted the first available appointments for everything, the process would have taken 4 months tops.

Met with the pulmonary doc today to get the results of my sleep study and it was within normal range so I don't need to be treated for apnea- hooray! Feels so good to be done with all these pre-op tests and appointments. June 30th here I come!

Surgery 7/14/14...Others Scheduled Around the Same Time?
tiredmama replied to CathyG123's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
June 30 for me! Good luck, everyone! -
Hi Katie! Looks like we have a lot in common. My surgery is June 30th at Abington Hospital. My pre-op diet is only one week but I'm starting to include Protein shakes in my daily diet so I can get used to them. So far I've found that I only like the chocolate flavored ones but I don't seem to be too picky about brand.

My date is June 30th- can I crash the July party?

Protein Shakes! Help!
tiredmama replied to Rachelle_B's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Target has some ready to drink shakes that are high Protein and low sugar- I think I've been paying $5.99 for a 4-pack. They taste the same as Premier Protein to me. The Walgreens store brand ones are pretty good too. -
Congrats! Mine is June 30th and I am so excited!
-
I'm a vegetarian too. I am still pre-op but I am trying to identify Proteins that I like and can be prepared quickly and easily or carried around with me. Here's my list so far: hard boiled eggs, greek yogurt, string cheese, seitan Jerky (I really like the Primal Spirits kind- they sell it at most natural foods stores and online), pistachios or almonds, pre-cooked brown lentils from Trader Joes (in the produce section.)

So excited to finally have a surgery date- June 30th!
