I bought something called Simply Balanced brown rice and sesame crackers that have 4 grams fat and 0 sugars in 18.. I could never even fit that many in this pouch but I do eat four with hummus or laughing cow cheese wedge... Pretty filling and tasty! ( no real seeds but powdered) I am 7 weeks out... Target sells them

Good thing about our stalls is your still losing the inches! Congrats to Tlynn4love! 101 down! You go girl..... -
Sorry to hopingnomeds.... Hope your back on tract quickly! I am six weeks out.. Pasta, rice , sticky white breads are not allowed for me until after 3 months but I can eat many other things .. Just not more than 1/2 cup. X 4 meals .. If I eat more I just spit it up ( not really vomiting ) but it is like my pouch says " nope" ! Gotta measure it or my belly sounds like a train going through ( no pain though) RNY on Nov 18 .. Down 47 :-)

Birthsjourney replied to Erin.Nicole's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Erin. Nicole. Happy your surgery is behind you and your at home on your way down! The first week is the roughest so walk, drink what u can .. Try hard for the protein amounts ( it was awhile before I reached them ). Use a heating pad if the dioxide gas in uncomfortable.. Drink from a sippy cup for a few weeks.. And just enjoy it all... Energy level improves with days and weeks! Think positive!! -

Happy to see so many in our Nov surgery group are doing the work and getting past the stalls and losing! I think some days I am living on shellfish, protein shakes and protein bars but it's all working.. Never thought I would enjoy the workouts are the YMCA and a aquatics class but " yep" .. 5 days a week .. I am retired and this is now my new job " Me" -

6 weeks post RNY by pass! Thrilled with each step! Nothing like I thought it could be! Down 45#s 1. Thought at age 65 that the hormone changes would pass me by! Nope.. First week I felt weepy and I am not normally like that! 2. Forgot about the dreaded stalls but you are still losing inches and they do level out and you'll lose again! My first one at four weeks lasted 11 days! ECK. !! 3. How much more energy I have now and didn't have 45#s ago! Awesomeness -

Another newbie, ranting
Birthsjourney replied to clark1720's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
clark1720... Take a breath .. You will be fine! Many of us all felt the same thoughts your having! I was not sure even in pre op! Lol. The discomfort was very minimal and I was out Christmas shopping at the end of my first week! ( RNY ON NOV 18 ). I hated many of the same things you mention.. Post op ? They tasted great! Your taste DO change! I only did liquids and shakes for a week.. Then moved on through the levels needed each week.. I eat many foods.. Just never over 1/2 cup x 4 a day( which I feel stuffed from) .. I have lost 45# and off almost all my meds ( type 1 diabetic .. But much less insulin) take support from these boards but remember we are all different in " our stories " , surgeries and surgeons! No regrets from me, only that I didn't do this years ago!! Keep us posted! -
November 2013 Post Op
Birthsjourney replied to Janifer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cheese sauce on cauliflower is way over the fat grams for me.. We must stay under 3 grams for any food and under 5 grams of sugar! But there really are many products that meet that need! I went to cott cheese and eggs, yogurt after day 7 due to the "runs ". Bummer but the new foods have corrected that with every change up! I have lost 45. # and am now having my second stall ( first lasted 11 days! ???? ) -
November 2013 Post Op
Birthsjourney replied to Janifer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the 18th.. I am eating a lot of shell fish.. 3 shrimp with a very tiny dab of cocktail sauce is a meal for me! Scallops and lobster .. Crab all are full of protein and seem to help with any hunger! I also like Quest protein bars and laughing cow cheese wedge on a rice cracker. Got sick of cott cheese and eggs .. ( Target sells the Simply Pure rice cracker ). Sometimes I like string cheese wrapped in lean deli ham slice... How about you? -

Why did you choose bypass?
Birthsjourney replied to Tgarden's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgeon told me it was the ONLY way to toltally eliminate my chronic GERD. It was damageing my lower lobe of my lung. He said, with the RNY they bypass the part of the stomach that produces the acidic juice. Guess he was right...It is G O N E !! -
MISTY... HANG IN THERE..this can't last forever ..guess the question is can you? I live near Toledo, Ohio and we have 23" with a wind chill of -35*. My Grandkids can't even go out to play in it or risk frostbite! Reading stories like yours makes me happy my four are grown! Congrats to you for hanging in there and taking the time, with six kids, for yourself and doing what you need to be healthy so as they "are not on their own" like you feel.... Know that we are available to chat, rant or turn to for support... We have all walked this road TOGETHER here on the forums. I am kinda new ( RNY on Nov 18th) an am so thankful for the support I am getting! Think Spring :-)
