  1. Hello, All, Sorry that I haven't replied for so long. Thanks for all of the support and comments. I did go through with my lap band surgery this past Monday. I got to come home Tuesday night. I feel like a human today as I got a shower and am clean, clean, clean! This first few days has not been easy by any means. I have had my fair share of nausea, gas pains, abdominal pain, and, did I mention, nausea?! I feel like I may have pulled one of my incisions, it is giving me a burning pain. I will just keep an eye on it for now. it has been difficult to get all of my fluids in, but I sure am trying. the hardest part post op has been not being able to pick up my 15 month old daughter. she has been crying for me to pick her "bup" but, she weighs 24 pounds, so that's not happening. breaks my heart. Question: anyone have problems with constant diarrhea (TMI!!) post op? Thanks! Finsmama
  2. I am being banded at Magee, too! My date is Dec 2nd. Who is your surgeon? I have Dr. Hamad. Oh, just saw you have Dr. M. Dr. Hamad is also doing the plication study, so I joined the study and had my research tests done today, a dexascan and a resting metabolic rate measurement.
  3. Hi, All, I just joined the forum. I am scheduled to have lap band surgery on Monday, but almost backed out today at my preop visit. I stumbled upon some facebook groups that had members that were very against lapband. I decided in the beginning that I didn't want to have RNY because I don't want to have parts of my stomach/intestines removed/rerouted. I have about 80 lb to lose. The before-mentioned groups strongly tried to convince me not to go through with it. They listed issues such as fibromyalgia, autoimmune problems, arthritis, etc, as complications. I don't want to fix one problem in my life, only to cause a whole slew of other problems, possibly much worse. At my preop visit today, I wanted to bring this up with my MD, but she was in a hurry and I kind of chickened out. So, I decided, screw FB, I am heading to the web to search more positive groups. Does anyone have any comments to my fears? I would really appreciate any/all comments. Thanks in advance!
