Thanks! I didn't get to eat any bar-b-que this time, but I did get have one of my southern favorites, grits! You just don't find grits in restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. So far the credit card thing has been mostly painless, I am chalking it up to "stuff happens" -
burning feet
SnohoGal98296 replied to hopeful2 be slim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My feet used to burn up when I was having a hyperthyroidism flare, I would put a tub of cool Water in the room with me to stand in and cool off my feet. It was like my body heat was escaping through my foot bottoms. .. You might want to check your thyroid, are you on thyroid meds and have now lost weight? Or have ever had thyroid issues? (Sorry, on my phone, can't see your stats) This was when I was in my twenties and had hyperthyroidism so bad they were taking about taking out some of my thyroid, 20 years later and my thyroid is hypo now... -
Pre-op Diet Question..Why only Bariatic Advantage?
SnohoGal98296 replied to bigloser2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too find it interesting that some Docs specify one brand over the other, but as long as the nutrition lines up, it is shake or liquid based and you are losing, then why the difference? My Doc sells BA but never said I had to buy it, they gave me a per shake nutritional guideline to follow and said have at it! They even listed a few brands, like Premier at Costco. .. -

Funny you ask, North Carolina was great, I loved everywhere we went, but unfortunately I found out that or of my credit card purchases resulted in a scam of my credit card and a fraudulent purchase two days after I was home. Luckily the transaction was rejected and I received the fraud text and have since canceled the card. They tried to buy $350 of stuff at a drug store. But otherwise NC was great! -
Snohomish here, surgery date is June 11th, ack! It is getting closer!

Incentive clothing
SnohoGal98296 replied to Healthygal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of my past more successful weight loss attempts had me in to a size 16, not 16W, but 16. I bought several pairs of Levis jeans, but I never got to wear them, I was at that weight for a heart beat it seems. Anyway, those jeans, still with the tags on them are my thinspiration, my surgery date in June 11th. I am traveling for business this week and have been really happy with my eating behaviors, considering I am eating out three times a day. Guess my pre op brain is kicking in already :-D -

Starbuck drinkers?
SnohoGal98296 replied to nesa83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any of the brewed teas have zero calories, so my go to is iced passion tea, sometimes I add a stevia packet that I have in my purse, others plan is just right. Be careful about the half tea half lemonade, it has sugar... If you need a chai tea Latte be sure to order it "brewed", otherwise it is a pre sweetened mix loaded with carbs. -

It is my understanding that some sleep apnea is caused by being overweight and some by the nature of your throat. It sounds like you have a very small passage, I have a friend who is skinny and has been her entire life and she has sleep apnea, sounds like you and she are built alike. .. -
Please explain pre-op diet
SnohoGal98296 replied to txags's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, do you have a Whole Foods in your area? They have tons of organic popsicles and stevia sweetened protein drinks mixes that are all organic and I bet even vegan, tons of choices! If not, check online for organic naturally (stevia) sweetened items, Amazon has a good selection and there are tons of choices on MyBariatricpantry.com too. Google that stuff and I know you will find what you need. -

Sleeved April 9th! Here's my recap!
SnohoGal98296 replied to MelBooks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Jane, Google weight loos and your town, it will come up with providers, also look for the specific Canada forum and who those folks went to, and if you are so inclined, research Mexico, do your homework, you won't regret it. -
That is awesome that you are confident with your Doctor, that is most important, in my opinion. I too am confident with my choice, going to a center that only does WLS and the Doctor is very experienced and well respected in the field. I think we both have made excellent choices!

Unfortunately the health care plans (Obamacare) in Washington don't offer WLS, I even have a staffer of the Washington State Insurance Commissioner explaining why that is to me, but I can't wait any longer, I already delayed it one year to be added on to my husband's insurance, his company covered it - but then he got an amazing job offer and we decided he had to take it, but the new company doesn't cover it, so I am self-pay. The hubbie wouldn't green light Mexico, so we are staying home. ..

Sleep Apnea Evaluation - Unexpected Requirement
SnohoGal98296 replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh that is good to hear! I have seen other posts and comments on the sleep centers website where they talk about it having to be setup by installers and calibrated. .. sounds like it is easier then they make it out to be, whew! That is a huge weight of of my chest!
