Washington State Pals for The Seattle Seahawks
SnohoGal98296 replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in The Lounge
You know I was wondering what I would be planning for the big day if I was already sleeved. I am aiming for a March surgery date. I was thinking that if you are going to a party that you could bring a great veggie tray with a great dip made with greek yogurt. Maybe a jello dish so no one would notice your jello snack. -

Flying questions
SnohoGal98296 replied to BrandNewBrandy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
As someone who wears a size 24W I have had to request a seat belt extender. But it depends on your body type, if you are apple shaped and carry your weight in your belly you probably will need one. If your weight is more generally distributed then you may not need one. -
No one resells single protein RTD drinks?
SnohoGal98296 replied to niassy151's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
For powdered - Try the manufacturers websites, I know unjury and syntrex both have sample packs that can be ordered online or by phone. For RTD, Try Trader Joe's and Whole food too, assuming those exist where you live. -

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate your responses, this post has been buzzing in my head for a week or so now. I don't know about the brave/thank you's part though, I just felt like writing it down and sharing it (all be it with a modicum of anonymity) with my BariatricPals would help. But I have to say that coming from RJ, knowing your story, is stunning. .. -

Pre op diet protein shakes... Help?!
SnohoGal98296 replied to irockedthe80s's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a smoking deal! My Doc had them for $1.95 each! So getting 12 for $13.99 is great, I might do that just to have some on hand :-D -

I prefer the powder type myself my Dr has the Syntax Nectar in individual single serve packets so you can buy/try 1 of each flavor, look online if your Doc doesn't do this for similar options. Lots of pals say Unjury is the best too -
Thinking the same thing! Almost like it glitched, incomplete sentences, off topic, maybe this was site error?

Watched Penny's episode was so sad. Just watched Zsalynn's episode and she dropped over 200 lbs in the 12 months with a verbally abusive jerk husband sabotaging her the whole way. Zsalynn said she would do something about that but could only manage 1 hard thing at a time. I hope she went on to lose another 100 lbs and divorced that creep! He was even verbally abusing their 8 year old daughter when she stood up for her Mom.

I can hardly sleep
SnohoGal98296 replied to SuperFab's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thankfully I can say that my jet lag is resolving, I didn't wake up until 5am this morning! So here I am again! Had my first consult yesterday and talked with the surgeon about BariatricPal, received caution that some info can be "inaccurate" but I told her that it is valuable because I can now recognize the trends of healthy advice/advisors and those that are not, whether intentionally or unintentionally! I can also read about trials and tribulations... and some just for fun posts (Go Seahawks! LOL) -

How did you decide on what level of BLIS Complication Protection to take
SnohoGal98296 replied to ItsMe2033's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This was an excellent question and I am in the same boat today. Did you get an answer in your research? May I ask what you ended up choosing? My surgeon offers option b included in their self pay cash price but has said I can select some add-ons from blis fir more coverage. -

You know I never thought of those non-weight loss gastrectomies in my research, that was very smart! Back to the Google page and more research for me! -

LOL, magical people!, I love it, I have felt the same way! There is a local large company that gives WLS "out like candy" according to my HR manager. I tried to get my company to add WLS coverage with our 2014 enrollment, but apparently only companies that are self insured (read big corporate) cover WLS in this area. Not sure how true that is, might have been the run around because the company didn't want to add it. I am happy at this company so I made the choice to proceed as self pay. -

I support fanship of either team, so Welcome! I know what you mean, I grew up in a Chargers family down in San Diego. After going away to school and then moving to Seattle after graduation, I grew into a Seahawks fan! My Dad, who passed away 17 years ago due to complications from obesity and heart disease, loved to hate the Seahawks. But I know he would be happy for me about their season this year Go Seahawks:-D -

SnohoGal98296 replied to JessPearl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The insurance coordinator at one of the centers I went to offered me a list of companies in the area that had insurance that covered WLS. I am happy in my career and place of work so I declined, but you might ask your center if they have a similar list. Just a thought. .. I am proceeding with selfpay, with a combo of my flexible health spending account and savings. Plus you can claim the cost on federal taxes (any amount over 10% of your annual income, but check that with a tax advisor, your state might have an allowance too).
