Thx for posting this question!! I recently spoke with my husband and thanked him for being patient and understanding. I told him that although I'm "hot" for him, let me get this uncomfortable drain tube out first, which is tomorrow..then I would make it up to him. ;0) 20 lbs lighter, I should fit my nighties much better. I'm a photographer, and my suggestion is to be YOU. The lens does not lie. If your photographer is a good one, he/she will direct you. Don't worry, enjoy it. Good luck!!

Ok I am currently 3 and a half weeks out. I have had discharge for about a week and a half. I dont believe it is an infection because it looks like my normal discharge that I have two weeks before my period. Normally I would have my period next week but you never know after surgery. I was just wondering if anyone else had an absurd amount of discharge after surgery compared to before surgery. Thx for posting! I just experienced this yesterday.... I'll be seeing doc tomorrow and will be asking thus question for sure.

Getting tired of many flavors and tried this last night, it was delicious! I scoop of vanilla protein powder, a few squirts of Torani chocolate sugar free syrup, and a tsp of instant coffee with ice. Mix it and pretend it Starbucks, so delicious!!

I must say I've been tempted because I had an empty stomach and was so hungry for just about anything. It helps to have your shake in your hand while you're around household foods. Don't linger in the kitchen when you know temptation is there. I cook dinner every day and remember the delicious taste of every ingredient and every bite; I talk and remind myself that this liquid diet is not forever. I will eat again one day soon, these same foods in smaller quantities. Be patient, remember your weight loss goal, and stay on track.

Have you told your surgeon? Some people experience the VSG differently, I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain. Limit your activities the first week or two, as your body is still getting used to this "new you". Call your doctor, they have answers. Hang in there!

Post-Op Day 4: Surgery was on April 16th. I find it challenging to type updates on my iPad, but it's better than going downstairs to the desktop. So here I go. Swallowing water is getting better. I can feel the water traveling from top to bottom, but it's no longer making me nauseated. So far I've only tried Isopure, V8 ( low sodium), Jello, water, broth, and pudding. Getting tired of it already. This evening I'm experimenting and mixed 1 scoop of vanilla protein shake with Torani sugar free chocolate syrup, and added a scoop of instant coffee...yummy!!! My mind and I are pretending its Starbucks. I no longer take any prescribed pain and nausea meds, only the heartburn one for 30 days. I sleep better at night without waking up to dry mouth. I take it extra slow turning to change positions. Today was my first day out of the house. Although sometimes it's not fun, it's a blessing that my family is pretty strict with me about my limits; don't pick anything up! Get help up/down stairs! Don't open the door! Don't bend to pick anything up! You should pin your bulb to your bra. LoL!! I'll take the attention while I can. ;0) I took my husband to breakfast today. I did GREAT, but my mind remembered the delicious taste of everything on his plate; bacon, eggs, sausage, country potatoes, with a side of pancakes. Hubby didn't want to sit there and eat in front of me, but I told him that I have to work on it now, because my eating habits have to change. I talked myself through it, "Davina, you will eat again some day...these same foods...less of it, but you WILL eat again. I promise." I did great and stuck to my jello. Through out the day it got a little harder since if did not prepare my "meal" ahead of time. I was thirsty and weak from hunger. When I came home, I made chili beans for dinner and told my girls my favorite thing to do was "taste test" every piece of ingredient...but not today... Boy was I tempted!!!! I didn't want to get sick or tear my stapled stomach so I walked away. Whew!! What are your challenges and how are you handling them?? What other recipes have you tried?? Congrats to new Sleevers!! SparkleKat: your date is almost here! Are you ready? Of the things I took, I only used mouth moisturizer, Chapstick, and pillow. Everything else stayed packed. Oh, my ipad came in handy too. Text me and let me know when you're going in for surgery and where: 720-237-5650. Woohoo!

Day 2 post-op: The hospital's IV drugs really worked on me and I was feeling really awesome... However, upon arriving home last night I am now just starting to feel the surgical effects. I asked my husband to make my bed on the family room sofa and put all my medical stuff on a table next to me. I tried a few hours to rest, but was NOT comfortable at all. Around 1am, I grabbed my water and made it up the stairs one step at a time and got into my own comfy bed. Yeah, understandably hubby wasn't thrilled I made it upstairs alone. Today, I'm gonna do my best to stay on track with liquids and jello. I can feel my intake landing in my stomach, it's uncomfortable and a little nauseating. I'm off of work the next four weeks, so I need to pre-plan how I'll be eating my meals during my hectic schedule. I don't know if it's just me, but my vision is still blurry since surgery. I can see all around me but I can't seem to read my prescription labels WITH my glasses! Congratulations newly sleeved friends!! Post your experience, I wanna know how it's going for you.

Hello Sleevers! One day post-op and I'm doing excellent as far as pain is concerned...there's NONE, woohoo!! I'm From Denver and my sleeve surgeon is Dr. Franklin Chea who has an office here at St. Joseph and SkyRidge Medical Center. Staff here at St. Joe's are kind and attentive. If I requested something, anything they'd go get it, and not say, "let me get your nurse". So far; I woke from surgery without any pain nor nausea. I did feel some nausea was when I got up to use the bathroom. The more you walk, the less the nausea. I am now on liquid prescribed pain reliever, I think it's Vicodin. I slept most of the day yesterday and half today. I could not stay awake for nothing. My husband and kids came to visit and I kept nodding off. LoL! Thankfully they understand. Food they serve us Sleevers is broth and jello. My assigned nurse keeps my water full. Well, I'm about to jus talk about nothing here soon , thanks to Vicodin... So I better get a little bit off shut eye. How's everyone else?

God early morning from the pro-op room! All went fantastic from beginning to current. It's 1:30 am and can't sleep; I was extremely sedated and it has not worn off yet. My conversations with family were nothing but lullaby songs because I kept falling asleep. Well sleever buddies, how are y'all holding up?
