What happened to everyone? Is everyone still pleased with their band and doing well? I love mine and still think it was the best decision ever. Hope all is well.

Too tight and miserable...
Fastpitch Mom replied to Teacher2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is definitely not normal. I have been experiencing some tightness too for the last 3 days and I am assuming mine is due to my cycle which should start any day now. My doctor has never had anyone with the cycle problem, but I definitely have it for sure and no one seems to know why. My doctor has started me on diuretics a few days before my cycle is due to start to see if Water retention may be causing some swelling, but we have not seen much improvement with that. I am over two years in and I would say with the symptoms you are experiencing, you definitely need an unfill. I have had 3 complete unfills since Ihave had my band and all have been worth it. I hope you are feeling better soon, because there is no worse feeling. -
I continually have this problem when it is my TOM. My doctors say that I am their only patient that has this problem, but I calendar it every month and it has been a continuing pattern for over a year. My doctor prescribed some water pills to try. I am just getting tight again, so I popped one today. We'll have to see if it helps. It's such a bummer when this happens.

I have this problem every month. I just went to my doctor this week to address the situation. She was very hesitant to remove any of my fill since I have been doing so well, but I finally convinced her to at least remove .1 cc because it is becoming unbearable for a few days each month. I'm not sure that .1 cc will do anything because my restriction feels the same right now, but I should know in about a week.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Fastpitch Mom replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am right there with you. I am going in this morning to get .2 removed. I am losing like crazy again, but I can barely tolerate meat anymore and I do not want to push it to the point that I have to get a complete unfill again. Good luck with your relief, lets hope it helps both of us. -

WOW!! You are doing awesome! Great job. I am hoping to be where you are at someday! -
So, it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I am in need of some feedback and support. The day before Thanksgiving I became completely blocked and required an emergency unfill. I was freaked out at the thought of no restriction, but was in so much pain that I did not even care at that moment. Now the bad news..... Since my unfill, I have gained 12 pounds!!! :tongue_smilie: And my doctor cannot get me back in for a fill until the 31st and when they do, they will only give me a small fill to start. I have joined Weight Watchers to try to slow down this crazy weight gain, but even sticking 100% to plan, my body is gaining weight. Has anyone bee through this and do you have any suggestions?? Thanks for listening.

Thanks for the thoughtful posts. I finally went in for my fill a couple days ago, but they would only give me 1cc for a total of 2cc (apparently I had 1cc in there still). Unfortunately, I still have no restriction whatsoever, but I am just trying to tough it out until I can have my next fill onthe 28th. It really stinks, but in someways it has been a lesson that I cannot rely entirely on my band to get this weight off. It has become vividly clear that I was getting by entirely on the sensation of being full rather than making mindful food selections. My goal is just to make sure that I do not get to the 200 pound mark again and just maintain until I can get to that spot where I can begin my loss again. I REFUSE TO LEAVE ONEDERLAND!!! Thanks for the support and I look forward to reading your update pizzi.

Crazy Ates Weight Loss Totals
Fastpitch Mom replied to Frangipani's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Holy Crap!!!!! I lost 100 pounds!!!! I am seriously beside myself. Never in a million years did I think it was possible for me to lose that much weight. Thank you all for sharing your success and tips along the way. -
Congrats to you! I finally made it myself this week. If I never lose another pound I would still be the happiest ever. All I ever wanted was to see a 1 as the first number on the scale. I have not seen that since before my first daughter was born. Now I just have to work to keep it that way.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Fastpitch Mom replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Ladies, I am in the same boat.....major slow loser, but I feel so much better about the way I look and feel that I could honestly care less if I lost another pound at this point. Don't get me wrong, I would love to lose some more, but I can shop in the normal women's department at all stores now and that was truly all I wanted in addition to a general improvement in my health. Stay positive and keep working. Slow and steady wins the race! -

I am still a slow loser, but as long as I am losing I am good with that. It has been several months since I have had a fill, but I am not sure that I want to be any more restricted than I am now, even if it means a faster weight loss. Hang in there, slow and steady wins the race. :wink2: -
Salsa, I'm with you, I get bored on cardio machines. I did 20 minutes on the elyptical this morning and I was not tired at all, but I think I have cardio ADD. Sometimes I do 10-15 minutes on the treadmill, then move to the bike, then move to the stairmaster, just to keep my attention a little longer and get the time in that I need.

You guys are really doing awesome. I think I need to start making better food choices to kick me back into gear. I am still losing slowly, but I think if I really looked at what I eat, I could kick it up a notch. Keep up the good work everyone! -
Hubby and I played tennis last night for about an hour. I would probably burn a little more if he did not play tennis like Barry Bonds. I did however get some cardio running to the other courts to apologize to other players and retrieve our balls. I think we will stick to raquetball. At least the ball cannot leave the court there.

The gym that I was a member at, put a chain around the doors and shut down out of no where. They have been all over our local news for not paying their employees and not making good on tons of memberships that were paid up front. So we just joined a new gym and I need to start logging on here because I have been in a major slump. We played basketball for about 15 minutes last night, raquetball for about 30 and then I went through the weight circuit at the gym. I am on a mission to get back into my routine.

Anyone else striving to loss 100 lbs by your Bandiversary?
Fastpitch Mom replied to NanaRenan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone, it has been a while since I have posted, so I need to get back in the loop. My weight loss has always been slow, but at least it is going down instead of up. I would love to hit 100 lbs. by my annieversary, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. Everyone seems to be doing so well. I am so happy for all of you. Keep up the good work. -
I am sure this has been covered, but I did not see it. Sorry if this is a repeat. Anyhow, I think one of my biggest problems is that I have no sort of routine, other than my morning coffee, and I just seem to wing it throughout the rest of the day. I am certain that I am taking in more calories than I think I am just because of mindless eating. I would like to establish some day to day meal plans to stay more routine and would appreciate any meal plans that have worked for my band friends. Thanks in advance.

I was banded on 8/21 and I am down 37 pounds since surgery. I am just so glad that I am not 37 pounds heavier. I am so scared of getting saggy skin and all the other affects of fast weight loss that I look at it as a blessing. For the time being, my skin looks great and I am toning up nicely and that's the way I would like to keep it. Stay positive and continue with your program.

What is everyone eating on a typical day?
Fastpitch Mom replied to Fastpitch Mom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You guys are awesome. Thank you so much for the great ideas, I am definitely going to try them. Keep the ideas coming, they are much appreciated. -
How many ccs have you had put in at your fills and are you feeling restriction? I had 4 ccs on my first (and only) fill and I have no restriction at all. I have been reading a lot of the posts for those with 10 cc bands and it seems that many are not feeling restriction. I would like to know how our group is doing with the 10 cc band. Thanks for sharing.

I think I am doing something wrong.
Fastpitch Mom replied to PigsRFlying's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have only lost 29 since my surgery, but I feel great!! I have dropped a couple pant sizes and get compliments all day long. I look at my slow loss as a bit of a blessing because I fear the loose skin. So far, I am staying really toned with the help of my workouts and I would like to keep it that way. Don't worry so much about the number, but more so how you feel and how your clothes fit so much better. Good luck. -

Fastpitch Mom replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Things are much better since my second fill. I have major restriction almost so much that I think I may have too much. I got my second fill about a week and a half ago and I have had a hard time keeping things down. Lots of chest pains and throwing up, but I think in the last few days I have started to recognize the signs and am doing much better. On the up side, I have lost about 5 pounds since my fill, so at least the scale is moving again. -
Have you been shopping for new clothes?
Fastpitch Mom replied to Candle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have not bought a single item and I really need to. My kids keep saying it looks like I have a load in my butt. I was hoping for more flattering compliments than that along the way so I think it is time to go buy a few pairs of jeans today. -
