Yes, I talked to my doctor and she said she ordered the hemoglobin a1c test as well as the other "just in case" I couldn't drink the drink...whatever that means -

Same here! My Iron is really low and she put me on iron supplements but hasn't checked my blood since beginning pregnancy which I think is odd!! I've had two ultrasounds one at 7 weeks and another at 20 weeks and baby seems fine..I've lost 13 lbs since being pregnant and haven't gained a pound and I'm almost 6 months...but she seems to be fine with it..i think I'm going to have to reach out on my own like u said..I refuse to take the glucose test like she wants me too. I know what's going to happen to my body if I even attempt it!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Thank you for your reply! My gyn is horrible..I dont think she's ever had a patient that's had gastric bypass surgery ! Even after telling her I don't think I should be taking that test she still insists that I do...I'm not sure who else I can call or talk to to get recommended to someone who knows how I should test and won't FORCE me to take that test ... Glucose tolerance testing with pregnancy QUESTION
Ms. lynn posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hello, I was wondering if any of you have had to take the glucose tolerance test after gastric bypass and what wAs the outcome? I'm 3 years post op and 22 weeks pregnant with my third son. First pregnancy after gastric bypass..my doctor seems to think I'll be ok to drink that stuff even after I told her I probably won't be able to without getting dumping..and I don't see how the results will come out correctly...she wants me to go take the test since she found Protein and sugar in my urine at my last appointment a couple days ago..but I'm wondering if there are any other ways to test besides having to drink that bottle of sugar!! (That's what I call it lol) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm not sure where I should post this, but I ran across your post Mrs.Riddle and you mentioned you just had a baby after weight lost surgery...and I'm 3 years post op and 22 weeks pregnant with my third son. First pregnancy after weight loss surgery though ..but I was wondering..when you were pregnant did you have to drink the drink they make u take at your glucose tolerance testing?? I'm afraid I won't be able to drink it without getting dumping and that the results won't even be accurate due to the fact I had gastric bypass. My doctor is telling me just to do it anyway...even if I do get sick! I'm no longer in contact with my weight loss surgeons office so I'm not sure they'll help me out and tell me what I should do...do u know if there's any other way they could test for the glucose testing??? -
Where Are You in Your Weight Loss Journey?
Ms. lynn replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm 5months post op. My surgery date was July 18,2013. I'm 5'9 and my highest weight was 333lbs. My surgery weight was 315lbs. I am now between 244-247lbs..still have a lot more weight to lose to get to my goal of 165lbs. -
Curious to know what your weightloss is 5 months post op... is it the same as it was when you were just weeks out? Do you find yourself having to exercise more frequently? Do you have more stalls? Any info is great. Just curious..

That's great.. it kinda bummed me out though since she told me that. She said she was just telling me because she wants me to reach my goal weight..not sure how her telling me Im behind in my weight loss is supposed to help. But she isn't my surgeon, I havent seen my surgeon since leaving the hospital back in July. She's his nurse or whatever..says she's been working with him for 9 years and it's a pattern that they've seen. So me being as heavy as I was, I should be losing a certain amount of weight according to her and my surgeon.

Yeah, I kinda thought I was losing slow, but didn't really give it to much attention I just stuck to what Ive been doing. Until I went to the doctor last Monday, she told me that I should have lost 30lbs in two months, but I lost it in three. She didn't recommend I see a nutritionist though. She just told me she wanted me to lose 30lbs by January which would be my 6month check up.. so idk just gonna stick to what Im doing I suppose.

This has to be the longest ive stalled then.. and my calorie intake is 860 daily.. and that's without counting how many calories I burn by exercising...I guess I should make an appointment to see a nutritionist

I'm 4months post op and haven't lost any weight in a month. And I went to the doctor and they told me I was behind.. I should have lost more weight than I have. Ive lost 74lbs in 4months. I'm not sure what Im doing wrong but it's upsetting. I'm stuck between 250-254lbs..im tracking my calories and protein intake and it's good..I walk 3 miles every morning and use my resistance bands... I only eat 4oz three times a day and it's white meat and veges... I don't know what to do. This can't be the end of my weight loss... I started at 328lbs and need to get to 165lb!!!
