Absolutely call your Dr. for your own peace of mind. About 5 weeks out when I was feeling brave and was starting to try new foods (against my Drs instructions) I was having PBs a couple of times a week. Yuck..! Are you truly vomiting or are you having PBs? The difference is that PBs are foods that are not digested at all and are coated in a clear "slim". They almost get stuck in your throat and you fell like you swallowed a golf ball. I have yet to truly vomit and empty my "big stomach". I would call just to make yourself feel better. Heck, what else are they there for???????

I am 7 weeks post op and yes, I get the same feeling. I have done my best to stay on the soft diet. When I have eaten something that I am not supposed to, I feel like a swallowed a golf ball. It comes right back up. Just be careful that you are chewing very well and do not drink with your food. You will become aware of what you can and cannot eat. The answer to your question is yes...I definately have had that feeling.

My story is exactly like sweetpea's. I was banded on 8/1 and went in at 4 weeks having lost 18 lbs and my Dr. would not give me a fill. Now over the last 3 weeks I have only lost 1 lb. I am going in on Thursday 9/20 and hopefully he will give me a fill. I have a VG band that holds 10ccs and he said he would put in around 3 - 4 ccs. I can and am eating way more that I should and if I had the willpower to stop eating when I should, I would not be in this situation. So...I am very excited for my first fill. I know it may not be the miracle fix, but psychologically I need something to get me out of this bandster HELL!

neveragain - We have yet to meet up, but absolutely you are invited when it happens. Congrats on such a teriific start. Wow, 40 lbs. I can hardly wait till I can say that. Where do you live in Tucson? Private message us and tell us all about yourself. It will be very nice to have friends who are going thru just what we have. Thanks for responding.:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

He is just very much a straight shooter which I like. Definately not warm and fussy. I went in initially with a page full of questions and he answered them all. Maybe that forced him to slow down. I have not had a fill with him yet. When I went for an appointment at my 1 month mark, I saw him for about 30 seconds, but I really only wanted a fill and he would not let me. I go back for my first fill next Thursday 9/20. His office staff is great and definately responsive if you have any questions. Let us know what you decide. I take it you have not had surgery as of yet? Good Luck with your decisions.

I am 6 weeks out and will get my first fill next week @ 7 weeks. I have kept off 18 lbs. I had lost 12 by my 2 week appt and 6 lbs during the next 4 weeks. I have no restriction at all and my appetite is definately back. I can't wait for my fill. I begged my Dr. to fill me at 4 weeks and he refused. I guess he knows what he is talking about. ha! -
Soups, mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes are all great choices at your stage. You can also ask for eggs if at all possible. You would be surprised what is out there. Also look at the ala carte menu and order side dishes when possible. Good Luck!

Still sick at stomach. What is going on???
wilem replied to claramae's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I remember that feeling. Don't worry it will pass. -
I always plan ahead. If the restaurant is online, I will look at a menu and make my decisions from there. At least the pressure will be off while you are ordering. Depending on where you are in your adventure will be dependant on what you can order. I always look at the kids meals and the appetizers. I also ask for a togo box when they serve. At least then I feel like I can be one of the group. Eat very slowly and remember no drinking in between. That is normally the hardest thing for me.

I am sure you will do great! I am 4 weeks banded today and am going in for my first fill in about an hour. My only advice to you is to follow your doctor's instructions. I know "real" food is very tempting, but the rules are there for a reason. Good luck!!!!!!!:clap2:

I will be thinkin' about you! Good Luck!

Lori, Hi! Just caught your thread. I am from Tucson and was banded on 8/1 by Monte Schwartz. I would love a local buddy that I could talk to. I weighed in almost exactly at your weight to start. Looks like we are going to be running neck in neck. I would also love a friend to exercise with on the weekends. I find it hard to keep up with some of my thinner friends. Someone who understands what I am going thru at this point would be great. I am not sure if we can exchange personal info or if you even want to. Please respond. Christine (wilem)

Help! I cheated today during post op...
wilem replied to Susan70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll let you in on my secret............TOOTSIE POP suckers. Yummy and only about 30 calories if you don't eat the center. Takes a long time to eat...don't bite...and totally gets you past that oral fixation! Sweet tooth will miraculously be satisfied!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! -
Congrats...you are well on your way. I am 15 days post op and have lost 17 lbs since surgery day. I still have no regrets and wake up every morning with a new outlook on life. You are doing a very brave and unselfish thing for your children. I am very proud of you. This next few days your emotions will be all over the board, be prepared. Every moment gets better. Just remember... you will never look or feel like you did yesterday. It only gets better!!!!!!!!!!!!!:whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

I had my surgery last Wednesday 8/1. I took this week off officially, but went into the office for 2 hrs on Monday and I am going to go in and gather some work tomorrow. I feel great and would go crazy having to wait 2 weeks. You will know when you are ready. Alot of this depends on your pain meds also. Good Luck!

Jobstud - I am celebrating my 20th tomorrow night and am only 6 days out.:clap2: We are going to the Outback. They have great potato soup, Just plan ahead a little. Most places (chains) have their menus online. I printed it out and circled all the things I could eat. Not much at this point, but eventually a few selections. When I am able to eat more, I am going to ask that half my meal be wrapped up to go immediately. Congrats on your anniversary - I only have 5 more years to get to 25.

Trust me everyday gets better. I am 6 days banded (8/1) and 12 lbs gone for ever and ever. :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:I am doing the happy dance and a big bow to you. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!

I was on liquid oxycodone (sp) for days 1-3. Day 4 I was on Tylenol and yesterday...NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Yeah. I even drove to the grocery store last night. It is day 6 for me and I am officially down 10 lbs. I hope this is an indication of success.

Let me introduce myself. I was banded on 8/1/07, I am a married mom of an 18 yr old daughter who is a freshman in college and a 14 yr old son who is a freshman in high school. I also have 3 boxer dogs and volunteer with boxer rescue. I normally work about 45 hrs a week in a family business with my husband. I pretty much lead a "June Cleaver " existance. I am so happy to find others who are in the middle of this same adventure. I promise to keep my miserable, feeling sorry for myself complaining to myself. I had a very easy surgery and recovery has been fairly uneventful. I am going out for coffee (tea) with a girlfriend in a little bit. I hope I don't break down during our visit. My emotions are all over the board this morning. I look forward to meeting all of you and swapping great success stories. Can someone tell me how to do the weight tape thing on the bottome of your posts?

I am 5 days banded (8/1) and still on clear liquiods. My doc says clear liquids for a full week, then full liquids for another week before puree. I am dying for a yogurt or some cottage cheese. I am having a real hard time trying to keep my blood sugar up. I am diabetic (was?) and I am off all meds as of the day of my surgery. Very scarey. I am feeling really good today, even took a trip to Starbucks to meet a friend. Still sore, but other than that, trying not to nap as much so that I can sleep thru the night. No pain meds today either.:whoo:

Just testing to see if my ticker works.
