Law school final 3 day pre-op... Possible?
forwardlooking replied to ImWithTheBand13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only have 1 thing that hasn't been mentioned. If you are still on pain killers you shouldn't drive in fact it is against the law I did real well until a couple weeks in and then my incision broke open and I had a gaping hole where my port sits. Had to go to Hospital and have a couple stitches and medicine. So take it easy. don't ran through life so fast, It will all get when it is suppose. Good Luck let us know what you decide. -

Hi November bandsters, I am still here also, My bandster anniversary is Nov 18th 2014, I have the large band and have still not reached the green zone. I had lost 50pd but since I have gained about 5 back. I am very proud of all you. -
Help I don't think my band is any good.
forwardlooking posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded in Nov 2013 and as I recovered I did real well loss 50 pd. I have a 14cc band I have had at least 6 fills and since the first of the year I can eat anything and everything, and as much as I want to. Starting to gain. My band is just up to 9cc.. I have never felt any of the things I hear written here. Any suggestions? I hate to complain to the nurse that does the fill I am afraid of an over fill. Thanks for letting me vent. -

8 years later, no restriction
forwardlooking replied to nursesherri's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It sounds to me like you just gave up eight years ago. Go back start the fills over, hopefully you haven't stretched you stomach out. Go back and keep going until you get into the green zone. Divorce your old friend Food. You will never be sorry. -
How much in fills did it take you to hit green zone?
forwardlooking replied to CTJohn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 14cc band also. I have had 6 fills so far and I am up to 9cc. Not even close to the Green Zone, it is taking so long (since Nov) I have almost given up. Last month I gained 3 pounds, I can eat way to much food and I am always hungry. I don't want to complain to much, because I feel if I made her mad I would have to drive to far to have some taken out. Good Luck with Yours and keep in touch. Elaine -
Congratulations you are doing great. I was banded in Nov also, so keep up the good work.

Tips for Surgery Day?
forwardlooking replied to JustWatchMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pillow is a great idea, in case you start yo cough. They told me to get a nice fresh bottle of Milk a Magnesia. Pain killers can block you up. Get the liquid pain killer filled, some pills can get stuck. You should start looking for liquid stuff. Good luck, you will do well. -
Orientation meeting freaked me out!
forwardlooking replied to Cairobat's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should get the surgery and don't worry about old friend food. If you don't get the surgery think of the alternative? I know I am a food junkie I was over 300 pd. I like seeing the scale go down. It is all attitude you know. Tell old man food he is not going to kill you this year. -

Banded 11/18/2013. Lost 44 pd but gained 2 this last fill. I have been on a eating binge., Last week. This is a hard diet. I go back for my 4th fill on Mar 11. I hope it starts to work. Good Luck to all. Elaine -
Surgery is March 11 and I'm getting nervous!
forwardlooking replied to jaybro's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't get nervos. Remember we all have different experiences and each Doctor does things different. 1. I woke up happy as a bug in a rug, No pain and stayed all night and slept like a log. 2. I didn't have the shoulder pain or gas. I was able to fluff "I call it" enough to relieve any gas in stomach. 3. Not hungrey at first, but was a few weeks later, I think that was my fault for not eating right. No nauseous at all. 4. Don't work, retired 73 yrs old. 5. Can't feel the band but I can feel the port, just a lump under the skin. 6. The fills do not hurt, no pain at all. Keep a good adittude and be happy your finally going to get your band. Don't worry. -
I can't believe I am down 44 pounds
forwardlooking posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can't believe I am down 44 pounds since I started this journey, in Nov. I want to thank Someone for posting the recipe for Punkin Chili, and no you can not taste the punkin, you would never know it was there. What a healthy recipe. I had a hard time keeping my 50 yr old son out of it. I am not yet in love with my band, it is still to much like a diet to me. Put I will adjust. -
This is what I was told also. I use Syntrax nectar, you could Google it. Also Cosco has one named Premeire that some say are good. Those are premixed in grab and go containers. Read the labels and find low carb. product. They told me Thursday I can have a shake in the morning if I want., Some people just can't eat in the morning so drink. Banana's are high in carbs, so they told me not to eat, if I do be careful. Good luck to you.

Congratulations on your surgery. For me, when I felt hungry after surgery it was because I wasn't drinking enough protein shakes. Not getting enough protein. Be sure to get the right protein shakes.

I went to Swedish hospital also, Dr Ross McMahan was my surgeon. I am only almost 3 months into this. They have a web site you can read about them.

You look awesome. Thank you for posting the pictures, it is great to see someones success.

This has been an informative subject. I think you should give your husband a 1/2 hour maybe time to do chores in the evening. Or can you take nephew for a walk after you pick him up.

Any Regrets? I'm sooooo confused....
forwardlooking replied to FastFazer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the band in Nov. and I am glad I did. One thing others haven't mentioned is you have to go back for adjustments. OK maybe some do. You have to go back to have fills to make your band tighter, sometimes it might take 3 or 4 trips in to have fills. I am on my second one and still need more. I get them about every 3 to 4 weeks. Keep reading this forum and you will learn all that. Educate yourself and then go for it. Good Luck girl Oh by the way, I am 72 and wish I had had this done years ago.
