Any flavor will do.... I like the lime one in a smoothie with frozen strawberries. Just make sure you are getting the low sugar ones...they are like 100 calories

Me too...meat is really hard. It's easier for me to eat at lunch time, by dinner I'm kind of done. I do a smoothie with Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries and cran-grape juice for breakfast, protein bar mid morning and a decent meal for lunch. If I feel like I can't eat what I'm cooking for my family I will do another smoothie for dinner. At least I'm getting good protein and liquid in. It's still a daily struggle. First overeating and now under eating.

Mine was 12-20... Down 70:) my hair is falling out some too. Luckily it's very thick so it's not yet noticeable. Had a stricture, dilated 2 weeks ago. Finally feel like I can eat like I should. Still have some aversions to food though...anyone else?

Quest bars from gnc are great. They are usually on sale too.

anyone have strictures?
LillyRoad replied to loving.life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had an endoscopy with dilation this past Wednesday. My symptoms were fairly frequent vomiting, trouble eating some solids, and strangely enough trouble with water. The only things that I could keep down consistently were smoothies ( Greek yogurt, frozen strawberries, ice and diet cran-grape juice) and protein bars. Seems to be a little better. May have to go back for a second dilation but the procedure was very easy, no pain and minimal discomfort afterwards. -
Same here...having an endoscopy on Wednesday:/ I'm almost 3 months out

How fast did you go through sizes?
LillyRoad replied to Wallflower7522's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at a very tight size 18:) now I am wearing 14 comfortably after 2 1/2 months and 56 pounds:) -
I can do some chicken and actually had a very tender piece of steak last week. Most of my meals consist of a smoothie made with Greek yogurt, strawberries, protein powder(disgusting), lime juice and Splenda. I'm actually having an endoscopy next week to make sure I don't have something going on...surgery was 12-20-13 and I still have lots of trouble with most foods. Pretty bummed, I expected to be further along by now.

PROTEIN HELP PLEASE!
LillyRoad replied to drobinson1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ditto on the shakes. Mine has to be fruity and not too sweet. I've been using a 100 calorie Greek yogurt(lime), handful of frozen strawberries, splash of lime juice, splash of orange juice, ice , water and 2 packs of stevia. Blend it up and drink/ eat for breakfast. 13 grams protein and lots of my morning liquid -
Today was a milestone day! I actually ate "real" food. I ordered a Chicken gyro with a small chopped Greek salad. I ate about 1/4 of the chicken off the gyro, 3-4 bites of the salad and a few bites of pita with hummus. It was so good. My kids ate the rest:) I've been feeling so down lately about having to eat the same things over and over, have had trouble eating some days due to my head not my stomach. It just felt good to eat normal food again.

December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm feeling that way too, my surgery was 12-20. Today was hard but not unmanageable. I had a little bit of sweet potatoes and some smashed up green beans. My family was all so supportive and that makes a HUGE difference. I just keep trying to remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel and soon enough I will be able to eat real food again, just lots less. No pain here either, just discomfort and I get tired very easily. Luckily I have another week and a half off work, I'm a teacher:) going tomorrow to buy myself a good scale! -

My surgery is is Friday and my nerves have been on overdrive today. I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow so I will be busy. I'm worrying about everything and trying to keep my kids from seeing how nervous I am. I'm just ready for it to be over and to get on with the weight loss:) -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So today my asthma totally went crazy. Had to come to the ER and ended up staying in the hospital. Really concerned this may interfere with my surgery scheduled for 12-20. Having to go back on steroids and hoping my doctor won't cancel my surgery because of that. Anyone have any experience with this? -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is day 3 of the preop diet, liquids only...optifast 5 times a day, chicken broth, sf jello and Popsicles...finding it hard to stomach 5 shakes a day. Final appt with nutritionist on Tuesday, surgery 12-20. My asthma is flared up bad right now but I am trying to stay off the prednisone. Anyone have surgery while on steroids? Any complications? Feeling nervous that they may try to back up surgery because of my asthma:( -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 2 of a 2 week liquid diet, my doc uses Optifast. I'm surprised that the taste is good and I am not hungry. Yesterday my assistant brought homemade chocolate pretzels to work and was not really tempted which is unusual for me. I'm using sugar free Popsicles and hello but have only had one Popsicle so far and no jello. Savoring my last 2 weeks of my caffeine free diet coke , that's what I'll miss the most. -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a call today that my surgery has been moved from 12-31 to 12-19. My last day of work(teacher) before winter break is 12-18! Was planning to get through Christmas before the surgery but now it's a go earlier than expected. Feeling quite apprehensive...like I have a million things to get done in the next few weeks. -
December Surgeries!?!?!?
LillyRoad replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm new here:) my surgery is scheduled for 12-31-13...talk about Happy New Year! I'm 47, currently weigh 241, 255 is my highest weight. I'm 5' 6.5" I'm heavier now than when I delivered my younger child 10 yrs ago. Not really doing it just for the weight but for the health issues I have due to weight. My asthma is out of control, GERD, arthritis in my hip requiring frequent steroid injections, sleep apnea...spend more time at the Mayo Clinic than anywhere else it seems. I just want to have the energy and stamina to do fun things with my son like I did with my daughter when she was younger. I'm excited for the surgery but feeling anxious as well. The pain doesn't scare me as much as the mental part of the recovery process and the lifelong changes that go along.
