Anyone else on the soft foods phase? Im allowed crackers but the sheet doesnt say anything about breads
-
You know, I try to think about it like that but I really dont think thats what it is with me. Even before my surgery I use to get full very fast. My in laws use to fuss when we went out to eat because I always took majority of my food home in a doggy bag. I honestly can say I can not feel my stomach at all. Is that weird? I cant feel it when I laugh or cough I even lay on my stomach. And im only 10 days post op. When I yawn I cant straight out yawn though it comes out in small "burst". Im not sure what is going on but I will be so glad when I see the doctor thursday. Even in the hospital the doctors were amazed. I was up and moving soon as I got to my room the same day. I havent taken any pain meds since they unhooked my iv the day before I went home. Believe it or not my incisions are even closed and almost completely healed..... am I super human? Lol jk

I just logged on after a few days to ask if anyone else wasn't getting full..... judging by so many post about it, I guess its normal?

Anyone have their surgery around 12/20 and able to eat yougurt, pudding, cream soups, pureed tuna etc?
-
What is the name of it?
-
Greenize42 I can relate! I cant have pureed foods yet so im stuck with ready made shakes all day in order to get my protein in. I have a popsicle or jello from time to time but they dont help with the protein. I boughy unflavored protein powder but the smell of whey protein is for some readon disgusting since surgery so I cant even sip anything that has it in it without gagging!

Before I left the hospital they had me doing 4oz a meal and I still am & now im hungry and wanting soft foods.
-
Was anyone released from the hospital and allowed to have more than 1-2oz of liquid at a time?

Happy holidays to all!

No im actually hungry and I know its hinger because it doesnt just come when I smell or cook food for my wife. Its random times and I be wanting real food. The shakes and liquid arent doing it for me. My tummy rumbles when I have gas this is actually the growling sound I had before surgery. The only thing that slightly holds me over are the sf popsicles but I cant munch those all day they have no protein

Im 5 days post op, is my stomach suppose to be growling & am I suppose to feel hungry?
-
I dony have a dipping problem it actually doednt even take me a whole hour to get down 4oz. I dont have tightening in my tummy either. My problem is gas.... I burp a lot. It rarely comes out the other way. It hurts! The only problem I have with getting enough liquids in is that I forget to eat. I was like that way before surgery though. I have finally put a timer on my phone to remember its really only day 2 home (came hone sunday but it was after 7pm and i went to bed) and day 4 post op. Is something wrong with me? I dont get nauseous or tired since I stopped taking pain meds.

I felt like I havent been losing weight, I know its only been 3 days, so I bought an ekectronic scale earlier. I stepped on ariund 7pm and weighed 313.6lbs I went in weighing 322lbs... I stepped on again about 9:05pm.... im at 311.8! I should have known I was losing weight because my stomach binder is no longer tight and holding my stomach steady. Im so excited. Im barely reaching my protein and fluid goals though. 5 grams short of the protein and 4oz short of fl oz. I just cant take in any thing else today.
-
Yea im going to just keep sipping. Im hoping its the meds wearing off. This is why I don't usually take pain meds, that feeling of "coming down" I just cant deal with it
-
Any one else feeling woozy or dizzy post op? The only way I can explain is that I feel like im coming down off pain meds.... maybe thats what it is. I dont like the feeling at akk!

Anyone else felt dizzy or woozy post op? I feel like maybe im drugged up, cant really explain the feeling -
Hello all! I had my surgery on friday the 20th and was discharged earlier today. I started having gas yesterday, tolerated all my ounces well today, and even had a bowel movement today at home. Is my body moving too fast? I was told these things would happen later on in a couple weeks.

December Surgeries!?!?!?
iJackie replied to preopmano's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone! Just a quick update... had my surgery on friday, took my surgeon about 1hr & 20mins. Recovery was hard the first hour I felt a lot of pain I was not expecting. After the pain meds kicked in (dilaudid) I was fine. I was up and walking the next day. Im passing gas and urinating on my own. I have made it to 2oz of liquid in 1hr and if I can do 4oz in an hr I can go home tonight. I have been sitting up and putting on my slipper socks alone. I still have a drainage tube from my stomach which comes out before I leave I have slept on my right side and my back both are comfortable for me. All is well. Hoping everyone else has a smooth surgery and post op! -
