I'm newly banded jimmyjoe, but I'll give you any tips I can. I'm losing about 1.5 pounds a week and I'm ok with my weight loss rate. My diet has been a little hard but I'm tugging along! Thanks newblew and everyone here.

I'm slowly trying different soft solids now! Reaching the week four goal was a milestone for me because up to now I'm really comfortable that my body is adapting to the band. I've heard so many horror stories of the first four weeks with the band and in my case it's been a smooth four weeks. I now realize that my fears had been a little overblown. I have been great and have lost almost 30 pounds!!!! Dr. G and his staff have played a huge role in my most critical healing time. Laura, Dr. G and Dr. V have been by my side always and without them my recovery time may have been a little harder. Every time I've had questions Dr. V's advice and comments have comforted me. I wish all new bandsters the best and may your goals be as easy to reach as mine have been! Congratulations BEK, mandy, newblew, nm, omla and all! Good luck!

Yes, I´m having my surgery on September 6th I just started my pre-op diet and so fas so good, I have gotten alot of support from my Dr. and all of his team , feels great to know I´m not alone in this.

Hi NMS, Laura sent me some information on 4 different 5 star hotels I still haven't made up my mind, I'm between 3 hotels that sound and look very nice as soon as I know for sure I will PM you with details. The diet doesn't seem extreme to me, its a little bit of a challenge but not extreme, at least not yet. So far so good........wish me luck!

My surgery date is September 6th. I went grocery shopping last night so I'm ready !!!! , I just started my pre-op diet today :speechles

I get depressed also and feel kind of wishy washy at times. Ive said to myself do I know what Im doing? I makes me feel like I'm indecisive. But like LapBandit put it, no one but us walk in our shoes. I have been thinking that I should not let other people influence my choices because they don't know what Ive been through in my life thanks to my excess weight. Cheer up chubbyone! I keep vusualizing myself in that little number that hotmomma talks about and it does work. I'll try to get online as much as possible and if I can be of any help count on me.

I called and I spoke with a girl named Laura. I asked her if I could speak with doctor Gonzalez. He was in surgery and doctor Valenzuela was available to answer my questions so I spoke with him. He was very helpful and you´re right about his patience. I do have a couple of questions for doctor Gonzalez so he will call me monday morning. I hope you find your fill doctor and get your surgery date soon. I will be preparing for my surgery and be reading more on this forum. I think LBT is one of the most valuable sources of information for everyne before and after being banded. I will keep you posted.

Same here, I have been reading for a couple or months now and today decided to make the call, schedule my surgery and even sign up to the LBT so I could start posting, I have been reading the posts for a while now but never had the courage to sign up, so today was the day for me too!!!, the lap band for me is a chance to live a better and healthier life,since due to my overweight I have other problems like high blood pressure and diabetes,so I congratulate you on taking your first step too. Anything I can help you with, will be my pleasure...TTL.:bounce:

I have been reading post from this forum for a while, and decided to post today, I made up my mind to have Dr.Gonzalez do my Lap Band I´m confident that he is the best after all the reseach I´ve done ( and I beleive that everyone is entitled to their own opinion) so I called today and got my surgery date set for september 6th,so wish me luck guys and I will keep you posted
