I am an RN who has struggled with weight since I was around 10 years old. After years of trying on my own I decided that I need help and had VSG surgery Jan 7, 2014. I never lost much weight with my sleeve, had issues with it herniating and then terrible reflux that a hernia repair in Jan of 2015 did not really fix. I never had much restriction from my sleeve and I fell into bad habits after being discouraged about not losing much weight (maybe 30 pounds post surgery). My surgeon said that the only thing to do is to have a revision to a bypass to prevent the reflux and heartburn. So I am scheduled for Jan.5 2016. Have to work on getting back into good habits before the surgery because I really want this to work. I just turned 60 and want to have as healthy of a life as I can in my remaining years.
