Menopause, hot flashes, aches and pains.

Hi, try Estroven. It's natural, over the counter and you can buy it at walgreens or any walmart ir gnc. It helps with all your hot, heat flashes and everything else for menopause, peri or post. They even have a weight loss version. Will try to insert a pic. Good luck.

    SURGERY ON TUESDAY!

Hey Big Boy... glad too see you are doing so well. Your off to a great start. Don't worry about this week and not losing more weight. You were filled with so many fluids and your body is slowly eliminating them. I'm sure it kicks into gear in the coming week. Be patient with yourself and it will all happen as it should .
  6. Hello Carol. Congrats on doing so well. You sound really happy and in good spirits. That is so important. Glad tho hear about the not having hunger. That is my main worry. Will i feel hunger after the rny... I'm going through all my testing for the rny and i do need it since I'm diabetic type 2 on insulin and am at 250 only five feet tall. ???? It's tough because I'm so afraid of the surgery.... ok, enough about me. Speedy recovery and keep up the good spirits. Hope to hear your success.

    Great pic. Congratulations.
  9. Your TSH is something that is a routine test that is done with all your regular labs. I was thought to have hypo thyroid because my tsh was a little high and I had the classic symptoms. Let me tell you this, the medicine the Dr. gave me called levothyroxine was the worse meds I could have ever taken. It makes you gain weight terribly. Rashes on face, hairloss, isomnia (severe) and hot feeling all over our head. I am on the road for a bypass and even if you have a tyroid condition don't let that stop you from your surgery. The meds you get for the thyroid won't make you lose weight even if they regulate your thyroid. You may gain because of the meds. I have spoken to so many patients who gained weight and had bad side affects from those meds. Other people I spoke to had the by pass and their levels stabilized and got better. Those of us that have metabolic syndrome like I do or Diabetes like I do will run the risk of a slow thyroid because that is the natural corse of things when our bodies are fighting to stay alive in an obese state. So please, do not do what I did, become afraid and post pone the surgery or cancel it because you think you don't need it or some miracle thyroid pill willfis your issues and make you suddenly stop gaining weight or thin. Chances are if you are here, you need ths surgery. I needed and wanted this surgery for many years and would come on herer to read horror stories that scared me away. I regret that and will listen to facts and people who have been there done that. So go forward and stay positive. Our Thyroid is not our only problem and will not solve the bigger issues at hand. Good Luck.

Lizzy, your advice is so valuable. I appreciate your honesty as many of us must know the consequences of things we do that can hurt us. Thank you.
  16. Hi, looks good. Have you read the reviews? I have heard of opti source. Check with your doctor just to make sure. Good luck. Let me know what they said... I may go buy them. ????
  17. Hi guys, i have a quick question and I will keep it short to save you time. Does anyone have hypothyroid and chose to get the bypass? I was on my path to the r n y and suddenly got diagnosed with hypothyroid which is horrible (slow thyroid). Makes you feel weak, can't lose weight, super fatigued, brain fog, joint pain, headaches and hair loss and dry skin. Oh Joy! I'm also insulin dependent diabetic. Icing on cake here.... So I'm wondering will I have a double dose of what everyone else expects while recovering from r n y surgery? Any advice is welcomed as I have become you tube obsessed and online research gonna make me bonkers. Thanks in advance.

    Post surgery and depression

@@lakegirl I am here for you as well as everyone else. You know you are not alone as we are all in the same boat. happy you are a little better and glad that you are coming around. Hugs! P.S. premiere Protein taste really good. Try and get them, lots of protein. ..
  19. @@GingerSnaps oh how I feel your pain! Thank goodness you demanded the test and the right ones at that... some people get their tsh checked and levels seem normal but it's the t 3s and t 4s that need to be looked at. That's why it took them to find out two years later and around 50 lbs later for me. I always blamed the diabetes or the meds (metformin) ugh hate it... or the insulin i asked for bec I swore the diabetes meds were killing me. Lo and behold it wasnt until I read about it in a magazine where doctor Oz gave symptoms and solutions. I swear I owe him a huge thank you. My dunb dumb very dumb VA doctors sat on their arses and let all this happen to me. All I can do now is move forward. I am seeing a private doc endo at Florida Hospital and he is a God send. Although I am scared about the surgery, I cant wait to do it. Every time I take an insulin shot or check my numbers or take that horrid medicine, I say God give me the strength.... I managed to lose only 8 lbs but I do a dance with regaining 2 or 3. Hahaha. Hate it. Now as for you, you are smart, strong and brave. With a baby, work and the thyroid issue.. i look upto you bec me, I couldn't even walk my dogs anymore. Seriously, like if I was zapped or a zombie... ugh... my poor hubby had to take over the day and night shift of walking my doggies. I'm better now and getting my levels checked this Wed. Ginger you are a doll! Thank you for writing back to me and listening to my crazy rant. Hugs to you my synthroid sister... xoxo
  20. Try looking up Florida Hospital Bariatric Center of Celebration. I have started my process there and they are wonderful. They truly are a center of excellence and the Doctor there has done over 3000 surgeries and he actually teaches other doctors how to do this surgery all over the world. Go online. They have a website and a facebook. You can pm me or reply here. I will help you. I'm in Central Florida too.

    Post surgery and depression

Hey lakegirl, remember that your body just went through a major change and it's reacting to it all so be patient. Hormones go all over the place too. It takes a while for your system to adjust itself. Soon you will feel better, make sure to get your rest. Better days should come.

    Newbie

Brillee, omg yes! Doing it now while you have no co morbidity as they call it, is the best thing for you. I wanted this surgery years ago and I was in great health but too many people scared me away from it. Now I am on insulin, type 2 diabetic, new thyroid conditions and there are days where I have zero energy. So yes you have been through child birth as have I and that's a doozie. Lol. Don't worry about pain, they say we don't have nerve endings in our stomach so we shouldn't feel pain per say, lots of people don't have pain but instead it's the gas that they get filled up with that gives them that pain. So I am here for you when you need and wish you the best. We can all just do our best with this and hope for the best.
