  1. Your profile pic is so pretty!! So congrats on your weight loss! That's really awesome. Trust me, your liver has already shrunk. Keep up the good work. As for me, my scale is fighting me. Haha. It is what it is but my portions are way smaller and now I get full with so little and all that will help us even more after the fact. Let me know how you do. And don't be nervous. Omg. Isn't your surgery tomorrow. ??? Prayers sent your way tonight. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Awesome. And be glad that's all you have to do. One day is easy peasy. And do cut the portions in half because I did that and to some miraculous surprise when I went w my hubby to eat a normal meal. I couldn't and I still can't. And truly I was amazed. For one, even though I wasn't a big binge eater or an all day snacker, when I ate my main meal, I ate. So I know the size of my meals and how I get hungry and normally eat. To my surprise my stomach shrunk. I didn't lose anything because of my daily insulin shots but I saw the portions go way down and so did my jelly belly. Lol now it's back on full liquids and shakes, broth and yogurts. Good luck though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. @@Moogle This is so great to hear. Congratulations to you on your new found health and not having to use so much insulin is a Godsend. I am super insulin resistant and am in 45 U novolog w each meal and 70 of the Novolin am and pm for the last four years and I gained 80 pounds on that insulin in four years. I don't even recognize myself in pictures. My face chased into this blur of just bloat. Some big girls are still very pretty w their normal size face, not me I became an apple shape(all belly) and my moon face. Omg. Well keep up the good work. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App @@James I am so definitely going to use that spirometer all day. Thanks so much for that advice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Omg, thanks a million. You know I will certainly bring that up at my pre op appointment. Oh Yes! I think that's what I got when I had my partial hysto and I had no problems what so ever. Even when they rolled me into that tiny table w that big white light. I also had another recent surgery and the anesthesiologist said he was giving me something called a tight light cocktail and I was in and out no big deal. The last surgery was the one that I went in w anxiety and when I woke up I had it too. Worse was they didn't let me get up from that bed. But anyway, you're the best for putting my mind at ease. I appreciate the time you took w responding to me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. My pleasure!!! Tell me? Sleeve or bypass for you? PM me and I'll be happy to buddy up with you to help any way I can. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Awww, so kind of you. Sounds awesome because other than this site and YouTube or other FB pages I'm on my own with this. All my besties live out of town and out of my state. And family is very supportive but no one really knows the journey before but others who have gone through it. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. I had been scared away by some bad stories but three three friends and my mom in law had surgery and they are doing fantastic. And I'm having RNY, I am a type 2 Diabetic now on insulin, I'm only 5ft at 265. Looking forward to living the life I once had. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. @@LisaMergs Thank you. And yes I have bought the triple zero. They are good and I'm sure help with the Probiotics which they want us to have too. So I should be grateful I can do yogurts. Thanks so much for your help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Haha. Cute story, thanks. I know exactly what you mean. I'm back on my liquid diet tomorrow up until surgery. I can't wait. Just what this done already. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. So I understand ketosis but what I don't get is how they have me drink milk w the powder shakes and eat yogurt which has sugar and so does the milk. That would prevent me from going into ketosis. Tomorrow I may just eliminate the milk and the yogurt. I'm on insulin so that doesn't help me lose anything. Only lost one pound week one. Another liquid diet post

Hi! Well that's what's on my liquid diet. You should call your team or whoever is your nurse at your center and ask. It may be different but those Protein drinks won't hurt your weight loss diet or liver shrink diet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Yes sure, no problem. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Message me. I will send you my number. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    UTI - Postpone surgery?

We must be twins. I have a UTI as well and my pre op is also the 7th. So, I asked my team and spoke with the nurse and they said it's not a problem. Just get it treated and take your antibiotics and you should be okay. I also took the pyridium / AZO that is over the counter for pain and you should be okay. I also read that of you need it and still have a UTI day of surgery they can give you the antibiotics through the iv. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I think there are three of us so far with surgery on the 12th. It's right around the corner. I just want it to be done already. Like wake up and done. I am ready and not worried or nervous about the surgery itself. My issue is that gas mask that they use to put you under. I don't like it. I wish they can just knock me out intravenously. I am definitely asking for that. My last surgery not gastric related, put that gas mask on me and it gave me anxiety till I knocked out. Not fun. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Another liquid diet post

You will do great! And good luck. You can make it for three days. I have been on it a week took one day off and now i am back in it for two more weeks. So you will breeze right through three days. Trust me, I did it and I thought I couldn't and was very surprised when I did it and didn't feel actual hunger. Just stick to a schedule and drink those shakes they do fill you up along with the Fiber. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. Ok, so yeah this thread is in the wrong forum. The original poster did write sleeve surgery but it's in the gastric by pass pre op forum. You're correct. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I'm having the RNY, my insurance didn't cover the sleeve. I know it says Gastric Bypass so that's why I posted here. I don't even know if I'm in the right forum. Oh, oh. Also do I have to quote to whomever I am responding too? Or should I just respond? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. But I will say this that you will be okay if you stick to the schedule of shakes and Fiber etc. I actually had to create a chart that I can see and check off to keep me accountable. Otherwise it's way too much stuff to remember to eat, drink and w Vitamins too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. You're actually right! Lol as my husband will attest to my roller coaster moods. And I almost lost it on the last day when I did feel the actual hunger. And that was not a good day. Lol I think I almost cried to him about how hard it was that day. I'm just a wishful thinker and way too hopeful. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. So those of us on liquid diets this week and next, why don't we skype and have a group chat so we can keep each other motivated and supported? Let me know your thoughts. We should make this fun and not grueling as it was for me last week but actually it wasn't really that bad at all. And honestly, I couldn't fit in all those shakes in one day but all the other stuff was okay. If you keep up w the fiber between the meals it does keep you full. I can't even with 100 ounces of Water they want me to drink. Ugh. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Hi. Im in Florida in Kissimee. And same here all liquids no bars or actual food. So I'm back on it tomorrow since technically I shouldn't have been off of it at all but i am on antibiotics so I had to have some veggies and protein. I'm only allowed one salad or veggies per day and that's it. I can have yogurts or milk w shakes but not both. So it's broth all I want and lots of Fiber supplements and my Vitamins. That's it. I will have another go at it tomorrow for the next days till my surgery. What got me going crazy is that since I am still on insulin I only last half a pound after one whole week of just liquids. So that was very very disheartening. Insulin is like a fat trapper. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I'm having surgery on the 12th also. But for some odd and insane reason my surgery center had me on the liquid diet since last week. So it's three weeks on a liquid diet. I made through the first week and then yesterday had to have real Protein like chicken because I was about to faint. So it's back on the bans wagon for me today somewhat. Good luck with your surgeries and hopefully we can all keep in touch. I'm totally bummed because I'm fighting a congested chest cold and a UTI so y body is all out of whack! Just had surgery

Happy for you and I'm sure the rest will be easy breezy. Well kind of. Anyway. I thank you so much for your post because I'm going in on Sept 12th and need to hear your great news. My only issue is the anxiety I get when I'm on those OR tables and they put that mask over your face to breath. I have to ask for I.V to put me out instead of that dumb mask. Did you have that gas mask? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I am in the same boat. Two weeks till surgery and I don't know how I got a soar throat and congestion. Here's to a speedy recovery for both of us. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
