Xiphoid Process lol but you were close!! I can feel how excited you are! I was that excited when I found my collar bones. I still have to touch em allllll the time. ahhaha guess what I found last night.....can you guess....my ischial tuberosity!! or better known as the butt bones! these are the two bone that you sit on. Now I found these by accident as I wasn't going around feeling my butt lol but sitting in the bathtub i realized how uncomfortable it was especially when i sat up and laid back down and heard a noise and it was my butt bones on the porcelain tub bottom. lol I wonder what other bones we will find soon! I'm ready to see a rib or two myself. Not that I want to look skeletal or anything but a hint of a bone here in there is pretty sexy. Congrats on your new sternum!!

1,000 calories a day & not losing

oh and if you do the back to basics rule (Protein first!) then you shouldn't need to phentermine because you shouldn't be hungry. -
1,000 calories a day & not losing
XXShelXX replied to Quelyn01's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sorry you are having a tough time. But going back to old habits is really just that...a habit. Habits can be broken. You honestly have to ask yourself how much you want this. If you want it more than anything then you will have to get really strict. By this, I mean you need to be tracking everything. Eat your Protein first for real. Eat the 4-5 bites of dense protein (beef, chicken, etc) and then whatever room is left..and it won't be much, eat a couple of bites of veggies. By this time you should be full. This is for your two to three main meals. In between meals if you feel like you need to have a snack then maybe have a yogurt, steam a pack of Edamame, or peel a cutie (halo) and eat it slow. But seriously track everything! Losing weight is 90 percent what you are eating so it's got to be a problem there. Don't guess, track it. You can do this if you really really want to. In fact, nothing is stopping you. I say go for it! You still have a sleeve. Good luck! -
There isn't a Victoria's Secret model under there?
XXShelXX replied to MizzouFan1's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@ wow i seriously could have written this post. Yes, we did it for our health ultimately and I can't express how grateful I am for that! but I'm having serious issues with liking my body now. I love being thinner but I feel like I just look deflated. I have horrible bat wings and can't wear all the cute sleeveless tops that I thought I would. No bathing suit for sure. My butt now looks like a pancake! and theres a jiggly thing under my chin. I look older and I always had a baby face. I had to cut off my waist length thick hair because most of it fell out and it was uneven and looked sooooo bad! All I can think to do now is kick up the exercise and do lots of muscle toning because this is not gonna work out and I can't afford plastic surgery. but really I am so happy about feeling better and getting 100 lbs off of me! -
"You do not need to lose anymore weight"
XXShelXX replied to sa1976's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
i've just started hearing these comments this month. I'm not sure what to think of it because I still see the fat. So they will ask me if i'm done losing weight yet and i'll say no, i want to lose about 25-30 more lbs. You would think I just said I want to light myself on fire. They say oh you are gonna blow away! and theres nothing left of you! you are gonna whither away to nothing! are they for real? never ever heard this stuff everrrrr and I can promise there is still a ton of fat on me. lol -
you just gotta go with it. Stalls are gonna happen all the time. The time is gonna pass anyway and believe it or not the inches do still come off. It's weird and it makes no sense but you have to do the one thing that you haven't done before and that is stay on track and don't give up. As long as you take it one day at a time, it will happen. Thankfully though, we have the sleeve now to help us along the way. You got this.

You know you lost weight when

When someone goes to hug you and they pick you up in the air and swing you around!!! just happened on my birthday. My brother did this and no one has everrrrrr attempted to pick me up!!! -
I wonder if anyone else gets started on one thing and just can't get enough of it? I must confess I am so completely addicted to Edamame with sea salt. (immature soybeans) For now that is my vice. I love them! I figure that it could be worse right. I could be addicted to Cookies or chips. I post this here for others who may want to join me in this craze when you want a snack and you are tired of the usual ones. Why Edamame? well let me tell you... For one serving of the PictSweet Deluxe Sides you get... 1. 110 calories 2. 7 net carbs 3. 4 g Fiber 4. 9 g Protein 5. 3.5 g fat 6. Cost about a dollar a carton. 7. They are very portable 8. They steam in the carton in about 2 mins 9. You get the feel of snacking (like popcorn or chips only healthier) 10. Great mild flavor...a lil salt, kinda nutty...mmmm Each bean has about two or three seeds in the pod. That's what you want to eat, not the pod. So they are kinda fun to eat while watching tv at night. You can find them in the freezer section with the other veggies. If you can't have soy, these are not for you. Also, if you have a thyroid issue, they say soy is not a good choice. But for me, these lil guys are awesome!

Having a hard day today and feeling like a failure
XXShelXX replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
next time you start feeling down and wanting to go grab the Cookies...go in the bedroom, grab something you saved from the closet from when you were 70 lbs heavier and put it on. Take a good look in the mirror and be proud of what you have accomplished. Those cookies won't look as good anymore. -
Having a hard day today and feeling like a failure
XXShelXX replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
awww Snow there is no point in setting time schedules. I had to give up on that. The body is gonna do what it's gonna do and thats it. I had my sleeve done Dec 30th, 2013. I weighed 249 at my highest then it took me over a year to lose the 27 lbs before surgery. On the day of surgery I weighed 222 lbs. That was 15 months ago. I kept saying i'm gonna lose 100 lbs in a year!!! But I lost 80 and that's ok. I didn't follow ALL the rules ALL the time the way some people can. I'm ok with that. I haven't gone on any crazy binges and I rarely eat fast food, Cookies, sweets, chips, etc... But occasionally I want a treat and I'll have something. The key is that I track it all. If I gave into a small ice cream cone from McDonalds then it's going on my fitness pal. You will get there and know that you can have a treat sometimes just track it in with your calories for the day.You can do it. If I can, I promise anyone can. -
@@SuperDave It's a complete love affair. lol I usually just do the sea salt but i have also used popcorn seasoning like white cheddar or garlic Parmesan too. Soo good! Lovvvvve Quest bars! except for the new Smore's one...ick. I can eat a bar and no longer have a sweet tooth and get my Protein in too. oh and my newest must have is the zero (calorie) ultra Monster energy drinks in the white can. Yummy.

You know you lost weight when
XXShelXX replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When you are at the mall with your daughter and you see a small lady coming at you and you think, "what does this skinny b!tch want" and then realize you are walking towards a mirror. hahahaha (not that I think all thin women are you know b!tches but she was coming at me fast and I thought I was gonna have to dodge a perfume spritz or something. lol -
I think she was just being kinda nosy. lol people esp women at work tend to be gossipy and love something new to talk about. Not saying that she or any of the others were talking bad about you. Maybe they are just very curious to know how you did it. Strut it girl.

Please share your story with me from band to sleeve I'm in my pre op and very anxious
XXShelXX replied to Brigiter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi and congratulations! I bet you find out the sleeve is nothing like that dang band! at least it wasn't for me. I had the band for 10 yrs and the most i lost was 40 lbs. It finally broke completely and I had the sleeve instead. Best decision ever! I've now lost 106 lbs and about 20 lbs from my goal. Good luck with it!! -
I'm on month number 15 from my sleeve surgery (revised from failed lap-band) and I've done well. I have lost 103 lbs. I've gone from my all time high of 249 down to 146 and i'm 5'1" but... I'm bored with food! I really tend to eat the same things day after day. I have literally eaten this same menu for over a year. The only time i sway is occasionally going out to eat and by that I mean like once a month, and I still only eat about seven bites of whatever it is. I need some new ideas. Here is a list of things I almost always eat. So tell me, what do you eat?? Breakfast (any one of the following) Yoplait light yogurt Quest vanilla Protein bar coffee Egg Beaters 2 pieces of bacon ....Or about every three weeks I will have a Starbucks sugar free, hazlenut, breve, latte. mmmmmm lunch (any one of the following) Lean Cuisine Garlic chicken egg rolls (200 cals) Tyson Chicken Breast salad on 5 crackers (250 cals) Mini Lunchable Tuna Snacks (or could be a meal) 24 Almonds Pictsweet Edamame (my favorite snack of all time! and only 110 calories) Sugar Free Jello Black Olives with Laughing Cow cheese wedge Pickles and cheese stick 100 Cal Smart Pop corn Supper Consists of about five bites of these meats... (always grilled) Chicken Steak Pork Salmon ...and about four bites of veggies. All of the following veggies made with onion and cut up bacon... Green Beans Yellow Squash Okra Asparagus Mixed Veggies Broccoli Cauliflower Armadillo eggs

You know it's really strange because I just can't see it. I remember saying to myself when I was a size 22 that If I just got down to a 14 then I would be alot happier. Then 14 was here and nope still so fat for someone 5:1"! So then ok maybe I will be happy at a size 10 then. Well 10 finally came and wow! what a pig I am! People really started noticing how much weight i had lost and I was getting compliments all the time. Then I met with size 8. I remember trying them on and saying there is no way on the planet that these are going to fit, but they did. So I look at the jeans and they looked tiny!!!! then I look at me and I look huge! how can this body fit in those pants????? I see fat everywhere. I mean everywhere. I asked my friend if it's possible that a size 8 now days is really about a 14 and they just changed the tags so women feel better. I was a size 7 in junior high and I know I was smaller then. So now i'm in a size 6 and they are starting to get big too. I told my friend I would like to lose 30 more lbs to get where I want to be and she flat out told me, "you have fat head". Umm yeah, and fat butt, and fat thighs, and fat hanging off my arms and neck and and.... she said, "no, you just see yourself as fat when you really aren't anymore". This is crazy. I don't think i'm going to be happy until i'm maybe a size 2 now. Is that not the most insane thing you have ever heard. A 2!! but as much fat as i still have, i think that's what it's going to take. So freakin insane. But seriously, are they making clothes bigger now and putting smaller tags on them? for real.... are they? This is not a size 8 from twenty years ago. No way.

My husband is not attracted to me - 2 weeks post-op
XXShelXX replied to marbelvsg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good thing you did this for you and not for him. That was an awful thing to say. I know drains and incisions and all are not attractive but those are very temporary things and the overall outcome will be so worth it. I'm afraid after making such a remark to me at a tough time in my life that I would not be attracted to him either. Ugly on the inside is ugly on the outside to me and i'm not attracted to uglyness. -
I hardly ever eat it these days BUT once in a blue moon i will have pintos and cheese from taco bell. Everything else it seems I just end up throwing away.
-
Honestly, sometimes it's just seems slow but i do think you should be getting more calories in. This has got to be livable. I average 1000-1200 a day and I have since the beginning. I am super slow at losing but in a year and a half i've lost 106 lbs so it all adds up. All the little losses at up to a big loss in time. I don't think 20 lbs lost in 8 weeks is slow though. I think you are right where you should be.
-
WTG taking charge, you can do it. Like others have mentioned, i have fought for every pound lost. I am in no way a fast loser. But also I never did the 600-800 calories a day thing. i've pretty much done 1000-1200 calories for about a year and a half now. But in that year and a half i am down 106 lbs. So it's ok. Just go back to the basics and start over, you still have the sleeve so nothing is stopping you from getting there! Congrats on recommitting

What are your favorite Quest Nutrition products?
XXShelXX replied to foreversleeved08's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have eaten a Quest bar everyday since surgery! I'm in love with these bars. I like the chewy texture and they make me feel like i'm cheating. lol By far my favorite is the vanilla Almond. The banana nut one is awesome warmed up for like 8 seconds in the microwave. The Cookies and cream is pretty good. The smore's is soooooo sweet that I really don't care that much for them and i'm a sweet eater bah leeve me! I like the Peanut Butter and jelly one too! even though it sounds kinda weird. You are just gonna have to try em out and see what you like. I haven't tried any of their other products yet. -
