    My sleeve Day 1

Day-9 212lbs I am getting anywhere from 400-900 calories a day. Most of that is coming from my Protein shake. food isn't tempting me and when I've tried a tiny bite or two of egg salad or chicken salad, I found I was really turned off by it. Maybe the texture of it cause I have it soooo chopped up. It seems to be easier to do the Protein Shake. I went and got a haircut and highlights today at the salon kinda a treat. My hair almost reaches my butt so I figured I should cut it and make it look a bit healthier. I'm happy with the results she made it look classy and only took about four inches off. I went to the health store then and stocked up on some Vitamins I think I will need. I now take Centrum silver chewable two of those, Vit D3, and Biotin 5000 the kind that melts. I'm hoping I don't lose any hair it's rather thin already even though it's long. I also picked up some if those 42 G protein shots. I thought those would be perfect! Tried a sip of the grape flavor and OMG it's horrid!!!!! Gaggggggg foul nasty no way. Also picked up some chia seeds to put in my protein shake they are great for omegas and Fiber and add a couple grams of protein. Happy with that.

    My sleeve Day 1

you really aren't going to need much honestly. But this is what I brought. A squishy pillow to hold against you when u cough. Chapstick. House shoes for walking the halls. My own comfy clothes cause I didn't wanna walk around the halls in a Hosp gown. Tooth brush, hair brush, that sort of thing. You will probably only be there a night. So it's not much required but those things help.

    Seriously.... Gout!?

This may sound crazy but try Cherries because they have something in them called proanthocyanidins which will help neutralise uric acid and reduce the inflammation. My grandfather had it bad and I told him about this because it was In a book I have of natural remedies and he tried it because nothing the doctors have him worked. He ate Cherry pie filling. It fixed him completely! Buy cherries eat those or drink natural cherry juice which I guess would be at a health food store? Hope that helps.

    help a lady out :)

My insurance required that I have five years of documented morbid obesity. So I had to scramble and find any and every doc I might have seen in five yrs that may have gotten a weight for me. They also required that I lose 25lbs. I went to my pcp for help with that. She put me on qsymia which is a very expensive diet pill. I paid the money though because I needed help so badly. I ended up losing the 25lb and she documented it all. She was all for it though from day one. However, she did talk more about the bypass but that's just not the way I wanted to go. Good luck! And go to a seminar it's one of the first steps for sure

    Rude awakenings....

Hi there if it's the eating late that is causing u to do this please please stop because it is so dangerous! It is so easy to inhale this mess into your lungs. That's why you are coughing. We get so relaxed while sleeping that we inhale saliva many times. Bringing this into your lungs is trouble and could definitely cause pneumonia. I've seen it happen many many times usually with older patients who can't swallow well and have some stuff still in their mouth when going to sleep. Not to scare you straight or anything but seriously you can't let that happen anymore.
  9. Jenny, can I post your pics on my fridge lol seriously that is an amazing transformation! I am also a shorty and around the same weight. Truly beautiful thank u for posting this!!

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 8- 212.2 lbs I looked over my soft food mushy menu and it listed egg salad. Sounded great! But I was worried about large pieces so I put three boiled eggs in my ninja chopper (great for mushies) and a tbs of mayo and tad mustard. Couple of pulses later and I have egg paste but I'm gonna eat it anyway. Probably the consistency I need. 3 eggs way too much. I got maybe 1 egg in before I felt a little grossed out and nauseated. Thinking that was a bad idea but I don't want anything else and I do feel ... Full? Still struggling with that part. Is it me stopping myself or the sleeve? I'll know more when I reach solids stage. Had a lil head hunger today too blah

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 7 (one week post op!!) 214lbs I've lost 8 lbs!!!! Today makes one solid week down! So happy! Pain is all gone. Food or rather all the liquids are going right through me. A lot. I hear others say they are having the opposite thing happen though. I was able to start eating food that has a thicker consistency today so that was awesome. This morning I had a protein shake using Unjury chocolate splendor, 2 tbs of peanut butter powder for extra protein and milk. Used two percent but I will switch to skim soon as I run out. Great shake loved it and I used two scoops of protein powder so I could get this darn protein in. Soooo what did I choose for my first mini meal. Refried beans! Been reading about em all week and I wanted some soo bad. So I had half a cup mixed 1/4 c Red enchilada sauce and 2 tbs shredded cheese. Basically I had a pintos and cheese from Taco Bell lol or at least it tasted exactly the same and it was pure heaven. Only 160 calories and 8 g of protein. So I think I will be having this often. This is also the first day that I've been able to take a regular drink of my power aid zero and not a tiny tiny sip. It went down easily so that's how I knew it would be ok it move on to the refried beans without difficulty. My paper work said I could on day 7 but if I was still having trouble with water I would not have tried it yet. Today has been a great day. Ive lost 8 pounds my first week. I am now 214 lbs which is a number I haven't seen in years. I'm full on 1/2 c. I'm able to drink easily so I won't get dehydrated. And best of all I was able to get 72 g of protein in and still stayed under 800 calories. Yeah!!!!!

    My sleeve Day 1

aww you are sweet! These two days will fly by!! Just try to stay busy. Get your bag all packed and ready to go. I took house shoes for walking the halls afterwards. Your own night gown or comfy close so your butt isn't hanging out whilst walking. Hair brush, tooth brush, wash cloth in case u need to wash your face and the nurse isn't around much, Chapstick, a tummy pillow that u can hold against u when u cough cause it realllllly helps! Keep positive thoughts only! Don't let any negative thoughts in, the do no good. Take care and let us know when u are back!

    My sleeve Day 1

Day 6- 215 Today was pretty difficult getting my fluid and protein in. Only got about 350 calories in too. I ran around most of the day and did the grocery shopping by myself. Wore myself completely out and was in bed by six and slept all night! Yeesh guess I over did it. So I'm gonna really try to get what I need today with my protein and water.

  19. So I just put down in MFP that I ate 1.5 c of cheddar potato yeahhh not so much. Think I had more like 2/3 rds of a cup. It was the thickest thing I've tried so far being only five days out and I haven't figured out what full feels like yet. But I did get a odd pressure in my chest. Is that it??

Pouch on top of sleeve ?

I know this thread is kinda old but I read it just before my revision so I called my surgeon in and asked him about this. I asked him if I would have a pouch and if he sutured around where the band was. He said absolutely not. He said he sutures throughout it not around. He said, "if I were to give you a pouch, then I did not give you a sleeve, and that is our goal today". I was pretty pleased with that.

5 days post op. Is this full?

I'm still having that has pain too I think it's in my back and shoulders. I did take a Pepcid a few days ago so I've got a whole bottle. I'm gonna take your advice and start taking those everyday for awhile. I didn't think about gasX cause I figured that would only help gas pain in my stomach and not the kind that's outside there. But whatever works lol I would love to stay in touch!! I don't know how to "friend" you but I'm very friendly lol
