I keep wondering about my calories. My friend has been successful on 500-600 calories, so that what I'm doing. Maybe I should eat a little more.

I always get mine on eBay. They are def cheaper on there. -
Your belongings aren't secured at all. Are you bringing someone with you? They will be in the room during surgery.
-
If they have an online group, I'm not aware of it. That wasn't really a factor for me. I have a friend here locally who had the surgery six months ago, so I direct all my questions to her. Also, the local surgeons have support groups that anyone can attend. Plus, there's this community.

Girl, I hear you!!! In the two weeks before surgery, I started really freaking out and having doubts! I didn't want to lose my "thickness" either. It's my identity and it took me many years to own it. I just kept reminding myself of all the reasons that I was having the surgery. I'm only three weeks out, so it remains to be seen what happens. -

Trouble getting in the 4oz
lkleigh replied to lexinicole2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At two weeks, my doctor said that my stomach would still be swollen and to only eat two ounces. I tried to do three ounces yesterday and that was a mistake. I wouldn't worry about it, listen to your body. -
An anyone recommend an app that will calculate nutrition from a recipe?
-
Never mind. Figured it out. ????
-
I can't figure out how to see the protein amount though.
-
Awesome. Thanks.

As anybody noticed that they are a lot more sensitive to meds after surgery? I took a melatonin last night to help me sleep. Before surgery, they barely kept me sleeping a few hours. Last night, I slept ten hours!!! Maybe it was just a coincidence...

32 pounds in the 10 weeks post surgery while my friend lost 50 in 8...

Maybe you should start focusing on your measurements instead of your weight. Sounds like you have probably built up a lot of muscle, which weighs more. -
I'm 6 days post op and doing great. The only problem is that I am constantly thinking about food. Please tell me this gets easier!!
-
Just hit the end of week two and it definitely is easier. Today, I cooked a bunch of different things and portioned them into the freezer so that I will have quick heat and eat options. Starting puréed tomorrow. Yay!

Ughhh Pls Not Another Protein Shake
lkleigh replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No one told me that, after surgery, everything tastes sweeter than before. A LOT SWEETER! I have to dilute my protein packets now or I can't tolerate them. I didn't try Unjury shakes before my surgery, but I love the chocolate one now! It tastes just like chocolate milk. Maybe that will help you post surgery. -
My doctor gave me ice chips after my leak test. He said it to gets my intestines working.

So about this light headed dizzy dance...Yea I'm over it
lkleigh replied to Bridgette Black's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 3/22 and feel the same way. Tried to straighten up my room today and had to rest every few minutes. I keep wondering if it's because I'm not getting enough calories or enough water, or both. It's a real struggle right now. -
My doctor required a two week low carb pre op diet. At the time, I considered cheating on it. I figured how would he know? Looking back, I'm glad he required it. It has been mentally hard not having food in my one week post op. I think the pre op diet made it a little easier though.

That might be another reason not to vacay after. It was so hard seeing and smelling all the food!!! I just stuck with the Gatorade he gave me.
-
It's not too bad. You will just get tired easily. I definitely noticed I didn't enjoy it as much as on other trips. It's hard enough to drink enough fluid after surgery without factoring in the heat down there.

I think once I get to the solid food stage it will be easier. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you're having real hunger or head hunger.
