When will my FUPA go away?
lkleigh replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if I have the exact problem that you have....lol, but I hear ya! I'm losing weight in strange ways. My top half(above my belly button) is getting smaller, but below my belly button isn't shrinking. In comparison to my top, it looks so big(to me). Hopefully, we'll catch up and even out. :-/ -
So mad at myself

You don't stretch your sleeve from one episode of overeating. Just get back on track and move on it will be fine. -
Which birth control is best? nuvaring or depro shot?
lkleigh replied to re14768's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't do depo! I do ultrasound and I've had many patients get pregnant despite getting their shot at the correct time. -
My friend said she hasn't had one since her surgery six months ago. Mine came right as expected.

Are you taking heartburn meds? Like Prilosec? My doctor also recommended Malox or something similar to soothe my stomach. I also had to revert back to softer foods for an extra week.

See people suggesting that you add pb2 to shakes for variety. Both times I tried it, it didn't dissolve. It stayed gritty in my shake. Any suggestions?

I keep seeing people suggesting putting pb2 in your Protein shake, but when I tried it, it didn't dissolve. It was gritty and gross. How do you do it?

I recently got a toaster oven. How do you adjust cooking time for it? I tried to cook frozen fish with the conventional oven directions and I burned it. I was super paranoid about undercooking it though.

Is the weight loss on track?
lkleigh replied to Jennifer2575's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My friends keep scolding me because I say "I ONLY lost fifteen pounds in the first four weeks post op". They all think it's great, but I'm comparing it to my friend who lost almost 30. It's hard not to compare. -

You've lost way more than I have....you should be thrilled with that progress -
Time cut off for meals?
lkleigh replied to MelBooks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why don't you weigh your food? If you know you only have two ounces, then you can eat it without the worry of overrating and vomiting. That's what I did -
I tried gaining weight to get above 40 bmi, only to find out that Aetna requires your weight to be at 40 bmi for two years. I wasn't willing to wait that long, so I went to Mexico. In the end, I only spent $2000 more than I would have here since I have a $3500 deductible.

....I probably wouldn't have this surgery. I'm four weeks out and I don't understand the signals from my tummy In a time span of 15 minutes, I might feel nausea, hunger, an empty hollow feeling, and a slight pain. Then I'll feel nothing at all. I repeat this cycle all day long. I'm on a PPI. on top of it all, I get water nausea. I think I made a huge mistake.

If i could turn back time...
lkleigh replied to lkleigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems reverting back to liquid/soft diet and adding malox for few days was the key. I am feeling a lot better. Also, I've realized that bottled water is much easier to tolerate than tap water. -
This is WAY harder than I thought it would be...
lkleigh replied to hisandhersleeves's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel the same way. I'm hoping when I get back to work, it will be easier than sitting around the house thinking about food. I was in a stall, but thankfully I seem to be coming out of it. -
Waking nightly between 2:30-4 am
lkleigh replied to Bbmomma4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Someone once told me that it could be hormone related. Not sure if that's true. I've had this problem for years. -

Wow! Congrats! I don't want to be that small, hoping to keep my J Lo curves! Lol. Size 6-8 would be fine. -
Frustrated - Water intake?!
lkleigh replied to YummyMummy101's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wonder the same thing. I never get 64. I just do the best I can. -

Thanks everyone. I felt great on puréed, hopefully dialing it back will help things. -

My doctor suggested doing a semi liquid diet til Friday. Hopefully that will help. -

lkleigh replied to lkleigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a good point. I've only noticed these symptoms in the last few days when I added solid food. I will try going back to purée. I can take the weird grumbling and other stuff, but I can't stand nausea!! I sent my doctor a message, we'll see what he says. -
Having trouble sleeping Day 5 post op
lkleigh replied to Biggy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm four weeks out and still can't go to sleep without taking pills. I've always had sleeping problems, but it's worse now. I don't have any pain, just insomnia. -
4 weeks post op. No weight loss for 2 weeks :(
lkleigh replied to Kimberly Davis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm right there with you, except I only lost 13 at two weeks. :-/ -
I have read tons of posts about stalls and thought I was mentally prepared for the infamous "three week stall". Despite all that, when it happened to me, I got a little down. It's so frustrating to be eating so little and not lose any. ***just venting***. :-)
