Peer support group is set up and meets Quarterly. We have been meeting in libraries but OHSU has given us a semi permanent home in a building near the waterfront and the tram. We have guest speakers, good discussions and fun! Next meeting is SATURDAY, Jan 21. 10-noon. Everyone is invited ... it's not an official OHSU meeting. For more info call me: 971-322-5281 Email me at Lauraishealthy@gmail.com for more info. Group is usually 45-60 attendees

Yes. Dr Kim is on leave for a while. But he'll be back I hear. Dr Leger is known for his direct manner. Surgeries are still being done on schedule now so that's good news for sure. There are Kaiser support groups at SunnyBrook, Salem, salmon Creek and WestSide.

I haven't been here for a while. I'm a RNY Kaiser post op 12 yrs out. Glad that there is some posting going on here now.

I contacted PDXMAN in July and didn't get a reply. I am willing to work with a couple of people to make this happen. Who is in?

Dr. Kim is a favorite for sure! ANd Dehydration is the #1 reason why post ops end up in the ER hooked up to an IV for fludis. Take his advice.

Sometimes community centers offer space for free or cheap. Also grange halls. Hospitals that have their own support groups might not be prone to helping. I have a large home and might be up for having a gathering there. I have direct contact with over 200 portland/Vancouver/Salem wls peeps

It would be easy to set up a monthly mtg and/or a time to walk and talk. Thoughts? Suggestions? I am 11 years out and I enjoy helping others on their WLS journeys. I am pretty connected with Kaiser support groups but see a desperate need for something more.

So let's make this thing happen! I live in Sandy. Does anyone know of a place to meet that is free? Library or city center usually has rooms for free.

Did this group ever get started?
