    3 days postop

I had a hell of a time with liquids and Protein. I called my surgeon and he said don't worry so much about protein the first week. Just concentrate on fluids, fluids, fluids! Take small sips. Drink broth slowly. Add a little lemon to your Water for some flavor. Do not get dehydrated. Best of luck!
  2. I was thinking the same thing when I got sleeved. Hiccups SUCKED! But once the swelling goes down and you start to heal, the hiccups subside.

    Gluttonous PIG!

finally someone who understands! I know it isn't acid. And everyone is saying the same thing to me. I guess that is my only option, but honestly, it's making me regret this whole thing...

    Gluttonous PIG!

The problem is that I'm still hungry. I can't get rid of the hunger. I guess it is still healing... but I feel starved. No matter how much I eat.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

If anything is used in antifreeze, its not going in my body. End of story.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I felt like the clear liquids weren't giving my stomach something to do. So when I had some cream of chicken and pudding, I feel like my sleeve was like 'Yes! WORK!' Haha!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Mio is the absolute worst thing you can put in your water. Its actually antifreeze and has to be shipped to stores via haz-mat trucks. Chemicals in it are terrible! Just a heads up!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Nope. Doc told me that with my switch to full liquids that they would begin to go away. I started full liquids last night and they really have subsided. Still get one every once in a while but hey, I just had 85% of my stomach removed. It can be expected.

    I'm Starving!

After giving myself some full liquids, the spasms have subsided. I'm only just switched to full liquids this afternoon, and I already notice a difference. As well as I began taking liquid Multivitamins when I came home from my follow up appointment, too. I think they helped as well.

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

Sleeved on February 7th! Had my first follow up appointment today and I'm down 15 pounds. Woot! Worst complaint is stomach spasms. No other problems!

normal not to be overly nervous?

My doctor even asked me why I wasn't nervous or anything. I like to take things a day at a time. No use in getting worked up over something I can't control. I know I wanted the surgery, and I know I want to be skinny. Whatever I have to do in between then, I do. Not sounding cocky, but that's pretty much how I handle everything. And as a newly-sleeved as of the 7th, I can honestly say thay there is nothing to be worried about! Enjoy!

    I'm Starving!

I have the same exact problem. I'm hoping switching from clear liquids to full liquids this week helps. But jeesh! My stomach was cramping and spasming so much! It literally hurt!

Horizon NJ Health, 12 month wait?

I'm having Dr. Attia do my surgery, too! He is such a good doc!
  16. I can't tell you how much more excited you just made me to get this surgery done. I am about your starting weight. A little more, actually. I cannot wait to look as good as you! Great job!
  17. It took me about ten minutes to make up my mind. For years I thought 22 was way too young. I thought I had to wait til 30 at least! But with the constant struggle of weight issues, plus the diagnosis of needing a disc fusion surgery in my back at 22 years old, I was sold when the doctor even brought up the idea. Plus, my mom had the lap band about 2-3 years ago and did great. And they say getting sleeved is so much easier and less side effects. I didn't take long at all to decide.

Hey Guys I Need Some Advice....

My situation is almost the same as yours. Except for the fact that instead of my boyfriend of 3 years, its my dad of 22 years. He is absolutely against me having this surgery and wishes that I could just 'work' the weight off. He thinks I'm cheating by having this surgery. I have severe back problems which is why I'm having the surgery done. In hopes that it will relieve the strain on my back. I keep telling myself that this is for me. Nobody else. I want to improve my way of life. Plus, I don't want to be one of those ladies riding around Wal-Mart because I'm too fat to walk to get the groceries I need. That is my self motivation. Do it for you. If he loves you for you, he will stay and realize that you're doing this for your own good. If he leaves, let him leave. With the way you'll look, I don't think you'll worry about him walking out! Good luck, love!
