    9 days post-op still nothing

    Today I my 13th day since I have been banded. So far I have lost 12 pounds and I feel in the same situtation that you are in. Not by any means am I complaining over my weight loss, or lack of it. I lost all 12 pounds the first week. For this entire second week the scale has not even moved the littlest bit. I am starting to get discouraged and have no idea what I'm doing wrong since I already started working out everyday and eat hardly anything!? I'm just hoping that once I get a fill, hopefully in about 4 weeks, that I won't be as hungry obviously and then I will start to see the weight come off that I have worked so hard to lose.
  6. I was recently banded and I have noticed that I haven't been losing over the last week... I was just wondering what other LBers did to make the weight progress better. Is there any kinds of foods I should be eating to make the weight loss progress better. How many calories should I be eating in a day. I know it can't be what I'm eating because I have never gone over 600-700 calories. I don't know what the problem is?
  7. I was just banded on 7-26-07. It was really hard at first, expecially when it comes to the limited foods you can eat. As far as Protein shakes and liquid drinks, I use Isopure. The liquid drinks comes in at lest 5 different flavors. Some of them include Icy Orange, Blue Raspberry, Orange pineapple Mango, Mango Peach, etc. They also make the protein powder which is used to make the Protein Shakes. That also comes in many different flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, Cookies and cream, orange pineapple, etc. What I do for an amazing Protein shake is: 1 cup fat free skim milk 5+ ice cubes 1 scoop vanilla/or chocolate ISOPURE protein powder 1 tbs sugar & fat free Peanut Butter 1tbs sugar free pudding mix (dry) It tastes just like a chocolate peanut butter cup! With having all this time off from work I have made so many differnt recipes. You can also take the same recipe from above and make it without the chocolate puding mix and add a 1/2 of frozen bananna so it is a peanut butter and bananna shake which is also very good.

  9. My psyc. eval. was only about a half hour. He just wanted to make sure I knew all about the lap band and that I was going to have to change my eating habbits completely... blah blah blah... and he just wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into.

    Poll: Are you glad you were banded?

    I was just recently banded on 7-26-07 and as far as right now I think this is the best thing that I have ever done! I can't wait to get my first fill to see what it is going to be like and how eating changes, but I am so excited for the experience.
  11. I have talked to people who have had the lap band and told me that the first time that eat something that won't go down and gets stuck, that it is the most painful experience ever! I am 8 days post-op and I haven't had any problems yet, but over the next couple weeks I was be incorportating new foods in my diet. Now I am really to scared to but I need to eat. Can anyone who has gotten food stuck what it honestly feels like? Thanks!

    Here is the truth about the band

    This is one of the biggest problems on deciding whether or not to get this surgery done or not... All The Negative Comments! I was just banned 8 days ago and have already lost 12 pounds. I read all the negative messages and experiences other people have had and thought that mine was going to be just like this. This in fact is completely wrong. I am doing GREAT! I could not be any happier. I am not hungry at all and I love it. Like most everyone overweight, I was so worried I was going to miss eating (in the larger portions), but for some reason I can go for 8 hours and not even think about food! I still eat and remember to get in all my Protein, but I would have never imagined it was ever going to be as good as it is. I just wish that people would keep there negative experiences more or less to themselves because it really makes others second guess their decisions when in fact it is the best decision (for me at least!) Banded: 7-26-07 Starting: 227lbs 7-26-07: 221lbs 8-3-07: 215lbs
