K so have a hiatal hernia. Well last night I felt like someone kicked me in the ribs and I had the worst case of heartburn I have ever had in my life. The burning feeling was radiating through my chest and down into my gut and around to my upper mid back... I also feel really tired and bloated and nauseous. Anyone else have a hernia? (I know many of you have) an what were your symptoms? How did you get relief? Anyone have their surgery date moved up due to hernia problems? I have already called my surgeon an gastro doc...

I am of Irish lineage and a professional Not really. Basically averaged out at one drink an hour. 5 pints and two single shots drowned in redbull. Totally do-able Well then I should be ok! I'm half Scottish and half Mexican and am a self proclaimed professional! lol!!

Well I had my endoscopy yesterday and I have Gastritis (inflamed stomach lining) and a hiatal hernia, (that I never knew I had) they took a biopsy of my stomach and now I have stinging and pain in my upper belly.... They said that I have to ok for Surgery but this inflammation thing kinda erks me out. I have been taking NSAIDs for many years.... Anyone else?

So have you had your appointment yet? Would be nice to go through this with someone else. Maybe we will have it together. Join the March sleevers. Or maybe April. I don't know how fast things go once all tests are done. My insurance approved it the same day with no requirements. So we'll see!! What appointment are you referring to? I hope to have surgury in Early April!! I would love a buddy! I need one!!!

My mom is so crazy.... She keeps telling me "what if you die?" And then today calls me at work just to tell me that her friend told her of her friend who died on the operating table having surgery.... Then proceeds to say, "if you die I will kill myself and haunt you!" Really? Dramatic much? Well it pissed me off so much that I hung up and just started bawling. I cried cause she frustrates me, I cried cause does she think that I have not thought about death and dying? I'm scared Shitless to do this!!! I don't need her being an asshole and making it worse! I have my last preop next Friday. Then it's all downhill and I'm thinking surgery will be in April. I am scared to death!!!! The closer I get the more scared I get! I have a husband of 13 years, a 4 and an 11 year old. What if I die? What if I have complications like infection or leak? What if I am a weenie about the pain and have a rough time? What if I never see my kids again? What will their life be without me? How will my husband and family manage? What if my backup at work can't do my tasks right? I'm scared!!!!!! I hear it's normal, I know it's normal but why am I freaking out so bad? I'm contemplating taking some of my dad's ashes into surgery with me cause he was always my biggest protector... How to I chill out? I've had anxiety all week... I feel ya!! I really do empathize.

I find that oatmeal or bread give me reflux! Odd.

Ha no apparently it helps with reflux. It was in dr. Oz websight. I personally love Greek yogurt and I thought the same thing about the pineapple.
