WOW way to go on your weight loss -
Im 49 and I was worried I was too old to expect a 100lbs or more weight loss. Now I know it can be done. How did you do it? walking, running, weights? I had to have both knees replaced so walking is about all I can handle right now. You are a great inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing.

follmerpa replied to marfar7's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Later in grade school I started to pack on the pounds. And I just kept growing, my first wife was a farm girl so it was meat and potatoes every night, along with some fresh baked cake or bars. i gained 60 lbs in 9 years. Then divorced and gained some more, changed jobs more weight, had knees replaced and topped the scales at 368 now its time for the sleeve. -

I have a 5 year old too, and he is one of the key reasons I am getting sleeved. Sounds like you had a great day. -
I have read here that some people vomit after there sleeve surgery. My question is wouldn't that rip the staples from our stomachs? I am a bit fearful of leaks after surgery.

I love 5 hour energy drinks. I see some people are allowed to drink coffee after they have time to heal. I enjoy coffee but in moderation, now the energy drink I have one a day, Only a couple ounces each. I have NOT asked the nut yet about this and will follow there rules to the letter. But until I see her in a couple of weeks, I am interested to see if anyone uses the 5 hour energy drink for a morning boost or pre work out. Thank You

I'm 49 and waiting for my date and I'm reading all these success stories from younger people. So my question is, does the weight come off faster and or easier for a younger person? I'm trying to be positive that the weight will come off but unsure now. Thanks Paul

spring seems soooooo far away :-(
follmerpa replied to re14768's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date will be about June, and time is really moving slow. I expect after holidays that time will speed up and Spring will be here and a new life will begin. A summer with out sweat pants will be great. In the mean time I am pre op dieting and making the changes in eating before surgery. Need to lose 30 pounds before June, should be easy. paul -
