Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!
linda welker replied to Eroper6's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 1-15-14, so we are at about the same place. I hope you are doing well. I feel good. But that losing your hunger thing has not stuck with me. First couple weeks. Now I feel hungry. But, am being careful. Best to you! -

I know. It can be discouraging not to get responses. I just now saw this. My search term pulled up this thread. I was so notional after surgery. Doc said to expect it because as fat is burned it releases hormones that have been stored there. I hope you are doing better since you posted this. All Best! -

Surgery 1/15/14. Have lost 15 lbs since then. Today is 2-28-14. Need to exercise more. Have averaged only 2X a week 30-40 minutes in recumbent bike. I feel ok about the drop rate, but I know I could do better. Thanks for asking the question.

Great story. Inspiring and helpful. You look great! Thanks for sharing how you lost those last five. Had my sleeve 3 weeks ago, so am a long way from my last five. Currently 208. Gosh need to lose 70 some more until I get to my last 5. Hope it comes off fast but healthfully. -

Congrat's to you. Embrace the cane and see it as your friend who keeps you company. In fact , cool outdoorsy ladies use walking sticks. Get a cool whittled one and be an LL Bean Style fashion forward outdoorsy gal.

I give you credit. Hang in there and be good to your self while you wait. You'll be there in no time. Good luck.

Do you have photos? You are (or were as of this date) where I want to be. Would love to see before and after. Am 62. 5'5". Started at 248 6 months before approved. Lost only 20 in those months, but 8 lbs in one week prior to sleeve. Sleeved Jan 15 (two weeks ago). Feel great now; am 211 for total of -37 lbs. had a great surgical experience & recovery and feel so good. My Goal is 135-140. Trying to figure out how best to get there both fast and safely. Tips?

My sleeve is the day after yours, and I feel EXACTLY like you. I woke up this am in a panic thinking "is it too late to pull out?". I calmed down, but still am bracing myself. Somebody, please tell us that it won't be so bad!!

I shouldn't have watched the video

I had a different reaction altogether. In fact, I was so fascinated I watched several and a couple more than once. People are different, I realize. But for me, knowing what to expect demystified it for me. Hearing the doctors narrate what they were doing was educational and actually assuring. Their voices were steady and confident. They have done it so many times. am still nervous about being sleeved in a couple weeks, so I'm not breezing through this. You know know psychologists help people deal with their fears via exposure therapy. It feels kind of like that to be. But good luck to you. I wish you peace. -

January 2014 Sleevers Come In!

My sleeve date is 1-15. Dr Foote of Grand Health Partners is my surgeon. Am nervous and concerned about being able to go back to work after 11 days. Am a professor and need to be ion control and in front of students. Is that too soon?
