  1. I am 9 days post op Sleeve and never looking back....how could I? I'm 16 lbs down and feel so thankful for our community here. I have read and re read prior to surgery and walked in the hospital confident because of our connectiveness and giving help to one another. Best decision I've ever made for my morbidly obese self who is changing daily!! Thank the Hwavens and WLS !!!????

  2. Just a little information for all shapes: Most common female body shapes The following are the four most common female body shapes: Apple (triangle downward) Apple-shaped women have broader shoulders and bust, and narrower hips. banana, or straight (rectangular) Banana-shaped women's waist measurement is less than 9 inches smaller than the hip or bust measurement. Pear, Spoon, or Bell (triangle upward) Pear-shaped women's hip measurements are greater than their bust measurements. Hourglass Shape (triangles opposing, facing in) Here, the hip and bust are almost of equal size, with a narrow waist. A study of more than 6,000 women conducted at North Carolina State University in 2005 revealed that 46% of women were banana-shaped; just over 20% were pear-shaped; just under 14% were apple-shaped; and only 8% were hourglass-shaped. The hourglass is normally accepted as the "ideal" female shape in Western countries. Research suggests that apple-shaped women have the highest risk of heart disease, while hourglass-shaped women have the lowest. Diabetes professionals say that women with a waist measurement of over 80cm (32 inches) have a higher risk of heart disease due to body fat buildup around the waist, which poses a higher health risk than fat buildup at the hips.

  3. Everyone is different...being 8 days out and have lost 15 lbs. I have gotten in all my Protein today with shakes but tried I table spoon of mashed potatoes with my homemade Tomato Soup (made with 16 oz. of plain yogurt) I thought I was in heaven as I didn't think I could look at 1 more Protein Shake, Jello, sugar free pudding for 8 more days.....my world lifted up as I also tried mashed & mashed cottage cheese....2tsp. A great day....and my little tummy is happy and I am not dragging as I have been....it's all new and I'm carefully walking the path.

  4. Hi I'm 8 days post op from southeastern MA I've had a gas free experience and I stayed two and 1/2 days in hospital. I too used pain meds when needed 2 days after returning home and used the heating pad.....best thing eva..... My doctor DID NOT do a leak test....I have heard about them on this site and after surgery I asked him how it looked and he said he thought they were "too invasive" after a traumatic procedure....so I've been praying since I don't spring a leak....Geesh

  5. Hello Pegsbored.,

I'm so sorry you are feeling down. Remember if you have a fever call your doctor. I am 5 days out now (3/5) and haven't walked the streets yet just around and around the house. I get tired and have to lay down because we women can be over-doers. Listen to your body cues. Plus you had hernia surgery too. If your fever is up check in with on call doctor today. Good Luck!
