I Love This Forum And Chat Room
Tink22-sleeve posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just love this forum and chat room. I have found friends and comrades where I least expected to find them. I have stayed up late at night to chat when I am feeling low, or just cant sleep, or when someone else needs a friend or information. I have laughed out loud at our conversations in the chat room. In the chat room and from the posts, I have learned what to expect and not expect from this surgery. Most of all I have found a place where I belong- A place where I can be heard. And that is a special thing, indeed. Thank you for walking this path with me. I hope we meet along the way. See you in the chat! -
3 weeks out and hungry
Tink22-sleeve replied to tanya811's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was hungry at 3 weeks out also (I still get hungry at 7 months out). I think it is perfectly normal. An acid reducer really does help(I take prilosec). I think alot of us had a "3 week stall. i think thats normal too. Dont fret, my dear. It gets better really fast! -
OH! i think the dots relate to how many posts you have made in various topics. the more dots, the more posts. so post away and "level up" lol

For me, the chat room is another social network. i get to socialize with other people who have had, or will be having VSG. Unlike posting in the forums (which i do), i can get an instant response and support when i need it. its also fun to hang out there and answer other peoples questions. Yes, its often off topic of VSG. Yes, the language and topics are sometimes questionable. But it is still a relatively safe place to get support and hang out with some fun people- night or day. Dont knock it unless youve tried it

Is it possible to get "kicked out" for chat room behavior? Just curious.

It has happened to me too! -
I'm at 7 months post op and am feeling very complacent (contented to a fault; self- satisfied , and unconcerned) I have been at a stall for a month now. No real loss or gain. I have lost a difficult 55 lbs, and am currently at 189 lbs. But I have gone down from a 22 to a 14, lost lots of inches and have had too many NSV's to count. I am feeling so good physically, and feel like I look "normal". I get lots of positive feedback about my weight loss. I'm happy with the sleeve. My problem is that now that I'm feeling so good and looking better, I just cant stay motivated to keep up with the diet and exercise. I want to reach goal, but life's not so bad right here either... Is this a phase I'm going thru? Another growth experience? Anybody else feel this way?

4 days post op when does it get better!
Tink22-sleeve replied to Here2bhealthyandslim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 4 and 5 were the worst for me. but it soon gets better. dont worry about protein so much right now. focus on staying hydrated. popsciles are great- also try some warm decaf tea. both were lifesavers for me that first week. Take those pain meds. walk and sleep and sip, and thats it! Take care! -
What "everyday activities" are you looking forward to post-op?
Tink22-sleeve replied to TooFluffy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Toofluffy, let me encourage you! At 6 months post op I can do all the stuff on your list (except for the bracelets). And after the initital post op period (and learning the diet)--which is not easy to do-- it has made sense to me. I get it. And now i am 40 lbs from goal. and my weight loss has been slow. but the inches are falling off. -
On second thought, i think i will share on this subject. thanks for your honesty. I dont know that you're feeling this way or not. maybe its just me? im an at 6 months out,. i have about 40 lbs to get to goal. im at a size 12/14. my weight loss has been minimal over the past month. I mean, wow!, i havent been in a 12/14 in forever, i get hit on all the time. my hubs is much more interested in me in general. i feel like im looking more "normal". All in all, i think i'm looking really good. And the non-scale victories (NSVs) -- too numerous to count. I feel great The problem? i am feeling WAY to comfortable with myself at this point. I truly feel at this point that if i never lost another pound, i'd be relatively content. BUT... my goal is to be at 150. maybe be in a size 6. No problems with the sleeve at all now. I know exactly what to expect from it, lol. it's happier when i stay on plan, and acts up if i eat to close to bed or eat really spicy foods. other than that, it's easy now. Kinda too easy. Since i'm feeling so comfy right where im at, it's really hard to find that ,motivation to do those workouts. Since the sleeve is doing so good, its hard to make the best foods choices all the time (for example, beer is my current hangup {I know, bad, huh?}). I guess my point is- maybe its normal to have these feelings of loss of motiviation and disinterest at this point. Maybe its a "coming to terms" with the sleeve. if it is a normal part of the process, then its bound to change again soon, and we'll enter into the next phase of the sleeved. Everything in its own time. As for me, i'm gonna stay on program, do my workout, and try to help other people here-- just for today. (and no beer. lol) Today i need to keep my eye on the prize. After all, i could really rock a size 6!!

Sounds like youre in a serious funk. im sorry to hear that. How much do you still have to lose to get to goal ( just curious) I need to hear what others have to say about this too.
