    Help needed!

I had surgery a week after you and have lost 39 lbs. i am following the diet and exercising. I have a low BMI. Maybe that is why the weight loss has been slow. As long as the scale is moving i have been trying to stay positive. My recommendation is to take some pics and post them. let others tell you how great you are doing. this really helped me. Good luck!!

Anyone have food stuck in throat feeling?

Could be a stricture. But i think they would have seen it on the endoscopy. Tell your doctor again.

    Hungry

Hang in there dixie. try to chew on popsicles and stay distracted. Doesnt do much for real hunger, but sure helps with the head hunger. Good luck!!

    Hungry

I am 2 1/2 months post op. I started getting hungry on the 3rd day post op and i still get hungry, I know its not head hunger. It is hard to stay at 800 cals per day. I am exercising 35 mins per day on the exercycle (6 miles). Getting fluids in is harder. Ive only lost 37 lbs (down from 244 to 206). The weight loss has been really slow. I've had lots of NSV's (from a size 22 to an 18). So the hunger is a disappointment. An acid reducer seems to help, as well as chewing on lots of popsicles. Im trying to focus on the NSVs but I sympathize with your frustration. I will be happy to see what others think of this. I am sure we are not alone in our hunger. Please "like" us if you are in the same boat. We need encouragement.

    Pre-Surgical Liquid Diet Help!

i think i may have had my last protein shake for a long while...ive had it. however, here are my 2 cents on the subject: i think the Premeir protein ready-to-drink shakes are the best. it is available at costco in vanilla and chocolate. both flavors are really good. I cannot stand isopure-- too gritty and expensive. For powders, i think "Body by Vi" has the best powder. it mixes easily and doesnt have that protein aftertaste. However, Body by Vi has to be bought from a distributor- you can google it. hope this helps.

What are your recent NSV's? Please share

    Frustrated

I was self-pay and didnt have this frustration. I think that was the only good thing about being self-pay. Good luck and dont give up!

  18. I am 2 1/2 months out. i can eat just about anything except chicken and steak (just doesnt want to stay down). I have not had any pasta, bread, rice, or sweets (just avoiding them). Water is still hard for me to tolerate also. But still, so far so good!

    help please

My NUT told me to practice "intuitive eating". My intuition tells me to drink protein shakes until I can get in all the required protein thru real food. Besides, protein shakes arent gonna hurt. Im just sick of them now. (2 1/2 months post op)
  22. Tips for the preop diet: Popsicles (if you can have them) are a life saver. As well as chewing on ice when you are craving something to chew (Sonic has the BEST ice to chew). also getting in those 64 oz of fluids really helps. Good luck to all!!
