magic you and i sound identical. my weight was 259 iam 5'4 with no co morbitities just a plain old healthy fat woman. the band was the best thing i have ever done in regards to weight loss, not one time did i ever feel like i was on a diet i lost weight and stil got to enjoy . my favortie food but in less quantity if it were so easy for us to do it on our own there were be no fat people in this world. if it were thateasyyou wouldnt be here asking that question .every bodys fill level is different some may need 2-3 fills to get to goal and some may nedd 4-5 fills to get to goal i had 3 and got to goal.never have i felt my band insideme but i did feel my port. my insurance would not cover me since i was so healthy so i went to mexicoand have not regretted my decision for one single second. sounds like you are ready to take the next step best of luck

if you can not get into your dr. go to the ER, i lost my band for this reason, i knew i was too tight but wanted to lose weight so bad that i did not call my dr.righ away and lived in misery for weeks if not months now i'm bandless and have gained most of my weight back, when your band is so tight you cannot get downliquids , it can slip, i know for certain,mine did, slipped so bad i can never have a new band due to the damage that was done

thanks for the clarification dr. grossbard and you are and ehlp for this patient. i hear great things about you and if you were banded and trained by ortiz then it explains why you are such a caring doctor and care about other doctors patients well being. ortiz is the same way and will help anyone in need.

yes you can make it, if we all can then so can you, think of the end result and be thankful it was not longer then 2 weeks, i had 3 weeks of liquids do not eat, follow your dr.s instructions they are in place for A reasone eating too soon beofre the band has set in place can cause it to slip be strong and hang tough it will be oever before you know it find something to keep you occupied keep liquids with you at al time drink more protein it helps to crub the appetite,

I smell the works of a patient co-ordinator amongst us using an alias, who else would know such personal info on another patient. she can say whatever she like to prove me wrong but it is a waste of breath ive been onthese boards way to long

oh and i forgot to add that my husband left me because of all of this. he is very angry over my stupidity and all the money he spent to have the surgery and i did not follow the guidelines.

hi alatina im a latina too im one of those friends la_madam is referring too. i am her neighboor the one who told her about the band since i had it myself. i have not been online for a few months now, the reason why is i lost my band to slippage. i had lost 30 lbs with the placement of my band and a small fill at 6 weeks post op then the weight loss slowed about 2 months later down so i went down to Mexico for another fill. i got filled to 2.9. i thought it was great until i went to eat solids and realized i couldnt eat them without pbing every day so for the next 5 months i lived on liquids and soft soft mushy type foods. i lost 63 more pounds and was ecstatic now i'm bandless and have been so for the past few months . i was so determined to lose the weight that i did not care at what expense it took. i wouldnt listen to la_madam when she kept telling me i was to tight. here i thought i was the bandster who knew everything and she was a new bandster giving me advice. i should of listened. i had my band removed to slippage. in the 6 months that i lived on liquids and soft foods i became severly anemic and my doctor in tj told me there is now way i could have another band being so anemic and did damage to the lining of my stomach . i have put back almost all of the weight i have lost. im just 17 lbs of my starting weight back when i had the band. i wish i would have listened i would still have my band. i have been so depressed over this i cry everyday. the band is a tool i realize it now but back then i relied on it to do all of the job for me and i paid the ultimate consequence for it. no more band. it saddens me to read your post it sounds so much like myself. please listen to your body do not play games with your tightness. there is real damage that can be done from doing so. im living proof. i just wanted ot share my story with you. la_madam came over to my house and told me about your post so i had to come online and share this with you. if you would like to here more of my story or have questions you can send me a private message.

some doctors will be able to tell if your port has flipped by touch. i know this for fact since it happened to my neighboor who has the band, her doctor was able to feel that the port was flipped. he has done lots of bands and has had lots of experience doing blind fills so feeling for the port is his speciality. unlike using fluoro where a doctor can see right away if your port has flipped. as far as it not feeling smooth like it used to, you could have scar tissue built up where your port is and that is normal and can make it feel like it is no longer smooth. my port is always sore for a few days after my doctor accesses it. try not to worry, it is nothing you have done im sure, give it a few more days and if not better then call your doctor

doesnt it hurt you to drink during a meal when you have restriction? seems the few times i have done that i have felt like i was backing up and man was it painful. i have learend my lesson the hard way with drinking while eating !!

Pretty much a guarantee that if you get your band in the next month or so you will be sporting much less then a 360 lb body. I wish you the best, sounds like you are very ready to make this lifestyle change. I hope your day comes soon.

bruises usualy look worse before they look better turning colors like that i was told meant they were healing, bruising is fairly common during surgery, imagine all the work going on in your stomach i had the bruising too
