Agreed that if it were a life saving option I would do anything for my child. I hope they keep updating so that the story can be followed.

Would like to try this as well

So leaving the weightloss trend of my previous years and years of resolutions I've decided to change mine up a bit. I'm going with working toward financial freedom. (Being debt free).

Mistysj I'm sorry but your response here just seems to be very belittling to those of us who were having a mature conversation. I don't understand the logic behind your assuming that any of us think we have the answers and for the record I never stated that I thought there was no psychologist or psychiatrist involved. Seems to me that you are the only one presuming things in this conversation.

None of us are "playing doctor". This is a discussion forum is it not? I'm sure there are many different types of physicians involved in her care and nobody here said that she is choosing to be this way. That is the point. If her body tells her she's hungry even after she eats then it seems the surgery could be very harmful for her. We are all here because we overrate and we did not even have the brain issue that she does. That's the point. It's hard to change our eating to a healthy lifestyle and for her even If she eats healthy her brain never tells her that her hunger is quenched. How will a bypass help that? Has it ever?

So do you add it to your shakes that you make using water or ff milk or something else? -
I've had that when constipated and Monistat burned like fire. I used triple antibiotic on the outside and it helped.

Evidently over 40k was raised by people donating. It just makes me wonder why a doctor would do the surgery. She will still have the head hunger that she has now because that is her primary problem. The article stated that she's on a 900 cal diet but sneaks food so much the parents at one time put locks on food. Seems psychologically there would be so much damage being done.

My dr told me that because the surgery took place right by the nerve that makes you hiccup and burp that right after surgery while the stomach is still swollen it makes you sometimes burp or hiccup. I don't burp much but did hiccup constantly and it was very uncomfortable.

What could this pain be?
Branmuffin replied to jenRRT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had sharp pains on my right side under my ribcage at 4 weeks post op. Dr put me off work for a week because he said I had overdone it at work and pulled a muscle and was having spasms. -
Did I make the right decision?
Branmuffin replied to linda305's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weightloss was pretty quick the first 6 weeks losing over 30lbs but I was on liquids the first two weeks post, then to purée until 6 weeks. Was your plan the same? Maybe it has something to do with it? -
I'm in Greenwood. Sleeved 11/11/13 by Dr Travis Goodnight and have had great results.

I had vein stripping done on both of my legs throughout April, May and June and my legs felt better but still were painful and my feet kept going numb. When I found out that I still had reflux in my leg veins it helped me make the decision to have the sleeve performed. I'm now 7 weeks post and down almost 45 lbs and am so glad I followed thru with this for myself. My feet and legs feel better. My back feels better and I'm not breathing sporadically the way that I previously did. Oh and I can bend over without holding my breath too! Bonus!

The news story I read said the family wants the bypass for her. My problem with this is that the problem she has is that her brain says she's hungry even when she's not. How will the bypass help that? Seems it would be pretty dangerous just because of her age then you add in the possibility of her overrating and I can understand why the insurance company would deem it not safe.

I'm ready for a laugh or too! How about you?!

I Laughed out loud so loudly while watching the video that my husband wanted to watch. Think it should've had the words: POW and BOOM and KERPLUNK going across the screen at times! Watching videos like this reminds me why I took out GAP insurance on our cars! -
I have not been able to go to the bathroom!

Yes magnesium Citrate is the clear liquid that most drs have you drink to clean out your system before other surgeries. It's by the laxatives at the drug store and Walmart but its powerful. -

MOM didn't work for me either. My dr told me to take 2 dulcolax and a bottle of magnesium citrate, but stay close to home. It took 7 more hours after taking these but it finally worked. Good luck. -

I live in Arkansas and we had an ice storm a few weeks ago and our neighbor drove her Volvo into the Lake we live around! She luckily had her window open and was able to climb out the window before it went completely under! New motivation for me: butt small enough to fit through car window! -
I wanna guzzle down a bottle of water!
Branmuffin replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's comforting to hear from those further out that can now drink to their satisfaction and guzzle if they want to. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and its getting tons better already. -

He thinks that intimacy is a gift so he says " I got your gift later". As if that's not available every night of the week -
I just mixed sf lime jello with cottage cheese and low fat whip cream for a nice snack later

Mine keeps asking me questions like " is that on your food list?" Or " did you eat all of that?" Or "don't you think you're eating that a bit fast?"!!!! He's driving me nuts!! He's also always asking me who I'm talking to online when I'm reading posts on here. He says I'm always laughing or smiling when Im reading the posts and it can't be that funny. I seriously told him last night that he's welcome to create a profile on here and read the posts and learn about what I'm going through. Until then I'm fine without his input about my food! Jeez! I'm measuring and losing weight and inches and alot of them I might add. I think he's so bored with his online games that he expects me to amuse him when he's done. Sorry, I have my own hobbies now and one of them is reading all the sarcastic responses here -

It's yummy! I actually bought stuff and made it tonight! I just folded everything together (dry jello) and refrigerated.
