I asked my surgeon about the possibility of stomach cancer later in life and he said that logically after I'm sleeved I have 75% less stomach so that's 75% less to get cancer. Made sense to me. I'm more worried about obesity related health issues so the sleeve was a good option for me.

Branmuff was a nickname in high school. It wasn't meant to be nice but I'm using it as inspiration to lose my "muffin".

I'm in! I'm at 207.4 today and hope to get to 195 by Christmas. Good luck everyone!

Can you tell us what your regimen has been to lose?

My 16 year old daughter says cold hard cash but i really want to get her a couple things to open as well. I know I can do iTunes cards but wonder if maybe anyone else has out of the box ideas?

That's exactly what always happens when I try to buy her clothes! We have total opposite tastes but what's funny is her friends usually like what I pick out! But she always takes it back :/ thought about just wrapping up a bunch if 1's and making her at least work for the $

The teenagers in my family are always taking "selfies" and recording themselves! My daughter alone has over 300 photos on her phone of herself! I used to argue with her and worry that she was putting too much importance on her looks and thought later in life it could affect the person that she is to become as well as is now. In Sept my 16 year old niece took her own life. My SIL is like me, never takes pictures because of the shame it invokes and now she has barely any photos with my niece. She said it best when she said," I'm so thankful for all the selfies that she (my niece) took. If it weren't for them we wouldn't have these memories." My attitude since then has changed drastically. I want to be in the pictures now, as me, how I am today as well as through my weightloss journey. One day pictures will hold the memories of loved ones. I may not cherish myself and like the way that I look, but I'm a good mom, friend, sister and daughter and someone else may want to have my picture no matter what my size.

Many people cringe at this but Vienna sausages are soft meat and 6protein for 4 sticks. I really like the packets of albacore tuna and refried beans. I'm in my third week post op so I haven't branched out much still.

I love mio and cannot use crystal light because of the aspartame in it. It gives me migraines and everyone should be aware that aspartame consumption does have many side effects. You might want to look it up.

I was sleeved the 11th too and am having the same problem. Pain and tightness in chest when I try to eat. I guess I'm eating too fast even though it doesn't feel like it. Or maybe too big of bites but its happening even when I eat egg custard which is pretty flimsy so I'm interested in the answers you get to this as well.

I lost 20 in my first two weeks post op but haven't lost but .4 since then. Guessing this is my stall. Glad that there are other posts on here to be encouraged by. Is there a typical time frame as to how long these stalls last?

Ok so I'm in my third week and getting along with purée food just fine. I'm just tired of thinking about food! I drink a premier shake once a day and then get a 44oz water at sonic that I drink all day and im good to get in a 1/4c of anything purée. I'm so full from the liquid. I find that I'm thinking all day of when to stop drinking so that I can try to consume something later in the day. I'd lost 20lbs at my 2 week post op appt so I feel good about the loss but feel like I'm consumed with trying to come up with stuff to eat that wont aggravate my sleeve. I think of food now more than before. I'm hoping its just my nervous energy trying to get used to portions and protein food choices.

The premier shakes are best for me as a slush as well. Maybe try one that way. They're 30g Protein

I'm on my iPhone app and can see threads but cannot respond to any unless I "quote" and respond. I also cannot start a new thread. Not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong or the app itself. I'm pretty new here.

Only way I can get them in Is to freeze to the slush stage and eat with a spoon. The premiere vanilla slushed turns out really good

I think you need to call your physician ASAP. Could be nothing but that's why they have a call center. Even if just to ease your mind.

I'm fairly new to the site and use both mobile and iPad and would love to see the "unfollow" option at the side of each thread. I'm getting hundreds of emails and it's just not easy for me to "learn all the tricks" right now. I imagine other new users are having the same problem.

Before getting approval for the sleeve with Aetna I had to have 6 mos worth of dr visits with the drs notes and a 1200 cal diet plan tried. When all that was done the ins also asked for 3 years previous dr weight checks for me. Luckily my dr office had them and I was approved within a week. This is in addition to the psych eval and nutritionist appt.

I had blood thinning shots in my belly while in hospital 5x but nothing since home. Two week post op today and doing good! Ready to conquer the world.....ok so maybe just ready to conquer whatever language my stomach seems to be speaking now. Anyone else have a "talkative" sleeve? It would be humorous if it weren't usually so loud. Oh and the loud and excessive hiccups? What is that about? Will it stop?

So two weeks out today! How's everyone doing? I've lost from 237 to 209 since preop and tried canned chicken today with avocado instead of mayo. Wonderful! Its first of mushy food for me. I was ready for it! Tired of soup! A lot of new noises coming from my new stomach and tons of hiccups but I'm learning through this process. I'd love to hear your stories!
