  1. HI AshleeSuzanne,

I had lapband surgery with Dr. Brengman on Mar 14. Just wanted to see how you are doing with your band. Have you had any complications? Have you been able to stick to your diet pretty well?

We are vacationing with my father-in-law this week...poorly planning as it relates to my surgery. I have snacked on a few things that I shouldn't have...like oreo cookies. I feel very bad, but I will be back on track tomorrow when we are home. I have to learn how to make better choices when I'm out.

I hope you are doing well. Please let me know if you have any tips you can offer me. Thanks!

  3. :thumbup:It's awesome that you've lost 10 lbs since being banded less than 1 week ago. I was banded last Friday as well. I haven't been that lucky yet. I have only lost 4.5 lbs since having the band. Best of luck with the new you! :wink2:

I Want My Band Removed Now!!!!!

You CAN'T give up....be encouraged and hang in there. Remember that nothing tastes as good and thin feels. You are talking about your health. This is a wonderful opportunity for you be in control of your weight, rather than your weight controlling you. I believe that once you have a fill and are able to have a real portion-controlled meal you will feel much better. I don't know if you have children, but if you do..keep the band for them, but most of all keep the band for YOU!!! Remember the band is just a tool...it will only work if you want it to work. Think about the reasons you sought out to have the surgery in the first place...you were sick of being overweight. Give it a chance...at least 6 months before throwing in the towel. YOU CAN DO IT! NEVER GIVE UP!!! YOU WILL BE VICTORIOUS! vshuford
  5. I was recently approved by Cigna. My surgery is 3/14/08. I have a BMI of 43 with no co-morbidities. I suggest obtaining a copy of your insurance companies bariatric surgery statement which lists the criteria and follow those specifically. Cigna required a 6-month physican-supervised weight management plan, diet history sheet for 5 years (with weight estimates), a letter from my physician, and a letter from me. The surgeon's office submitted paperwork on a Wednesday afternoon and I was approved the following Tuesday. I would be happy to share the forms I used with you. Let me know and I will send them to you via email. vshuford
