Started training for the 1/2 marathon this week. 3 miles Tuesday and 3 miles tonight, then Saturday morning! I am a walker, so no speed records. Looking forward to beating my last years time with some of the excess weight gone.

The YMCA is sponsoring it. They have a 13 week training session leading up to it. (they even had a 5 week jump start, to get people ready to go from 1 mile to 3 miles. the 13 weeks go 3Xs a week. 3 miles, 3 miles, 3 miles. then 3,3,4. then 3,3,5 eventually getting to 5,5,11. It is great fun to train with up to 500 people at a time, and so much encouragement, you can't believe it. I have re-injured my knee, and may not get to do it, but will be walking at a slower pace for less time until then.

Post Op Day 8! Back to work 1/2 days started yesterday. I am worn out so easy (wierd to feel this way), but I have made it, I am trying to just drink one extra protien shake to max my total for now. Even went to Bible Study class tonight. I have dropped the 7lbs gain from fluid at surgery plus 4 more. Friday will be my post op appt with the surgeon, excited to see where I am then. Good night all.

I made it fellow bypassers! Was a bit of a rough ride, be surgeon was able remove band and do bypass in one surgery. My scar tissue did make for a tougher surgery. Had on bad spell w/lack of gas passing. But seem to me the nausea is worse than pain. they kept it down at the hospital, have to deal w/it more here at home. I am free at last! Thanks for all your prayers, kind thoughts and encouragement.
