To help with drinking and gas. I bought a sippy cup. It helped push a lot of air through before I drank. I found if I drank normal or out if a straw it got gas and burped up anything I drank. Warm liquids also seemed to soothe me. Even though I really wanted ice and cool things. But they made me sick. I am on day 5.

That's what I want to do... I have to be there by 5:30 tomorrow. I am not sure i can sleep though.

Really, what doctor is doing your surgery? I would loce to come to the support groups as well.I like the idea of being able to go to the hospital close by and my surgeon is there and the hospital is more willing to acknowledge my surgery and contact the bariatric team

There are people who have gone to west ga or are current going to dr. T who are apart of the support group. Have guest speakers etc.

I am having my surgery at Columbus regional. You should come to the support group they have.

Hello, I am about to have my surgery the 15th of this month. We are military. Currently stationed at Ft. Benning. Live in Columbus. I am currently working in Macon.

I am there with ya... I have started allowing myself one solid a day, basically just salmon or something veggie I have still managed to lose 12 pounds.

Funny that you say you heard them talk about how large you are and it snapped you back! That is what happened to me this past week. The closer I get to the 15th the more I panic, well I went in for a MRI and the nurse had to take me aside and tell me I was too large in my stomach to do the machine. Which really put things I to perspective. I have to go through with this! Still pisses me off that my dr did not do the open MRI considering my weight. And now we have to go back through the trouble of rescheduling somewhere else. All I can do is remind myself this time next year I won't have these problems. Good luck on your surgery

I am extremely nervous. I have been going through this journey expecting to do the sleeve. After over 2 years of research and planning. Today decided to go with the RNY. Mainly because, thanks to Tri Care, I can only have the sleeve at a military base that performs it. Which is 4 hours away. And if I tried to get it approved here, it would be alot of appeals. Mentally I can't handle another set back. This surgery has been put off so many times. I also decided to go this route, because I have GERD. And it is getting worse not better. From what I have learned, alot of folks that have the sleeve develop GERD, so why go there? That is one of the issues I want to go away. Anyway, I could ramble for hours. My name is Cyndi. I do more social work than anything with it. But I love what I do. I actually specialize in ALZ and Dementia, so the sales aspect is a jump for me. I am currently 303 pounds. I have PCSO, metabolic disorder and multiple other heath issues, feet, knee, back, etc. I am super excited about talking with others that are traveling this journey as well.

What about the shape wear? Will it lift any of the skin up? I agree pick up some powder, stay dry when ever possible air the area to keep moisture away and prevent yeast infections. Trust me its not fun! Having problems with that under my girls and fighting it

It is so funny you have started pre shopping. I have been doing the same thing! I started out with stocking up on my liquid Vitamins. Everything from the daily, Biotin, Calcium, and a liquid Protein. That reminds me i need to get another set of each, while the price is good. My next venture was portion size storage bins, a fat strainer, electric scales, portion control spoons, plates and the mold you place over the plate. I bought the advantage bariatric protein mix, ProtiDiet starter kit. The I have been hitting the clearance and sale racks on different sizes of shape wear. Supposedly that will help with the skin issues. I did get a few Water bottles and sippers, since u can't drink fast I felt I needed something to slow me down. I am a gulper. I also got a polar for my birthday. Don't use it, I have no idea how to really work it. So my husband got me a fitbit flex for valentines day. I can't tell you how my h I love that thing! Easy to work! It syncs online and with my iPhone and myfitness pal. I have been pick g things up for months. Most off amazon. Which is the best deals for this stuff. Type in bariatric or gastric bypass or weight loss there's so many things on there.

I am stuggling with quitting. I have been off and on since October. I was doing really well, and then got extremely stressed at work so one thing led to another. I had gained alot of weight while I quit. Now, Jan 9th they are setting me up for a urine test, to test for the nicotine. I am not sure what will happen. I have been reading on juicing. It is supposed to help you detox. It does not cover the nicotine but does help push it through and make the withdrawls easier. Not sure if this is true though.

I am so glad to hear I am not the only person who is/was like this! I can go all day and not think about food. here lately I even have to set a timer to remind myself to drink Water. But when it gets dark...I get hungry. It's like dinner is my breakfast then when everyone else is going to bed then I am doing my lunch...etc..Some nights I do good and don't eat.. But then other nights I wake up and think I am starving or jsut have to get something. Even if it is a handful of chips. I am supposed to be counting my carbs this month, and then on the 9th of this month will go on 21 grams of carbs, then liquid. I am afraid they won't let me know. I have not followed the low carb and I am pretty sure I have gained. I keep eating everything I think I will never eat again. Which depresses me and then I eat more. I need help!
