Ok so I just told him this analogy to which he said, right you could use a treadmill which is a tool, you wouldn't cut half the engine off to make the car lighter. Ugg, it's hopeless with him, I'm just going to have to move forward with the surgery whether he's on board or not

Turn the page, Excellent. Example! He's hung up in it bc we watch they biggest loser and he's like if they can do it so can you, he's slowly coming around to the idea, his sister in the other hand thinks its a stupid idea, but thankfully my other sister in law has had the sleeve and is doing really well, so they see that it works and who can argue with that

Turntheoage, we have done that, met the surgeon, but my husband still thinks diet and exercise is the way to go, however if diet & exercise had worked I wouldn't be in this boat looking at surgery

I am at the beginning of my sleeve journey, I just met my surgeon and got a list of appointments that need to be done before I see my surgeon again and get a date I would like a mentor who has been through this process Thx Angie

Hi notime, thx for responding, I didn't realize the sleeve procedure has been used for stomach cancer, interesting. Unfortunately I've had many other types of surgeries for various issues ( hence the reason my husband is worried, but it gives me confidence to know I've not had problems with anesthia in the past I definitely am planning to have the sleeve done, I'm scheduling all my appointments for Dec and hoping for a Jan/Feb surgery date

Thx!

Gina, I think it was an off day for them, especially since it was right before Thanksgiving. Ironically, a childhood friend of my husband had surgery with Dr Hawver and I've talked with her extensively and feel much better now about my decision to go with Dr Hawver -

Scosta78 my doc wants me down before surgery, her rationale is it takes work after surgery as surgery isn't a miracle fix but a tool, plus it makes surgery risks less -
It looks like I'm on task for Feb, no date yet as I just met with surgeon today for the first time and got all the hoops I need to jump through first My question: do you absolutely have to love your surgeon? I wasn't feeling my surgeon today, should I switch?? Help

I'm Angie, 39, 5'6, 307. I'm meeting with Dr Lisa Martin Hawver on Dec 6 to discuss getting the sleeve. Can anyone tell me the length if time from first meeting with surgeon to surgery date? Just curious -
Questions From A Beginner
Zoumommy replied to huberm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm meeting my surgeon on Dec 6, but my husband isn't too supportive of my decision to do the sleeve because my health has been so poor. He's worried about me having another surgery and possibly regretting this procedure since you can't undue it. My question: was your partner on board? Were you ever worried that once the procedure was done, there is no turning back? -
