How do you cope with stalls and how to get it going again!

FineDiva, that much walking will add leg muscle (personal experience) and those are large muscles! You are probably losing inches, and soon you'll step in the scale and see weight dropping again. -

I change up my eating, for one. My NUT does not want me to count calories but she does want me to stay with portions and nutritional guidelines. Usually I will increase my meal count for a couple of days and/or change exercise. JoAnn, you lost a lot in two months - your body needs time to catch up! Usually when I lose a lot in the previous weeks - 4-5 lbs, I will hit a week where I won't see a loss, but see the inches going! -
I was on normal foods at 4 weeks, my doc discourages protein shakes, he wants me to eat animal proteins.

What is everyones diet?
bormannk replied to wjcunni2000's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I can eat is 3 meals a day, 4oz max... So I have cottage cheese or an egg in the am, 4oz protein/veg for lunch and same for dinner. Virtually no carbs, rarely do I snack on a piece of fruit, and I mean 1/6 of a peach or 5-6 grapes... That's all I'm allowed. My doc does not believe in protein shakes. I do drink tons of water though! -

Please contact your dr or go to the ER! -
After a month to two months you'll be able to go! Life goes as usual - except that my portions are much much smaller and I make healthy choices. The only places I avoid are fast food and bread companies and sub shops. Too much bread! But I do Mexican, sushi, steakhouse.. There is always a healthy option and Res Lobster has fish which is great! Hang in there - he was a bit insensitive, but it may take a moment for him to fully understand! Good for you though!

Need answers to sleeved a to work question?
bormannk replied to waitingtoexhale's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am just not sure you'll feel up to it. Travel is also tricky because of the blood clot risk, which is very high after surgery, so they tell you to walk, walk, walk.. I would sit this one out and focus on your body, our health. Everyone is different and I am one of those people who heals exceptionally well, but I think you will be so grateful not to have to do it! Best of luck to you!! -

June 2014 Sleevers Check In!
bormannk replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had surgery on June 5th! SW was 263, CW is 219, down 44 lbs since surgery- last week I am completely stalled, but it happens! Doing fantastic 27 days out of the month and struggling terrible on hormonal days - it's like there is a monster inside of me that lives to eat. I resist most of the time, but I suffer! LOL I usually have cottage cheese or an egg and bacon or paleo almond flower pancakes (well one 2 inch pancake) for breakfast; Lunch will be grilled fish, or chicken or tuna - usually straigh lean proteins and dinner is the same. Virtually no carbs or sugar - I am actually mostly Paleo (with exception of the Cottage Cheese which is too great in protein to pass it up!). I eat sashimi a lot and a lot of grilled tilapia.. Those are my go to foods. -
3 months post op feeling confused
bormannk replied to Abigail13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That is a lot of exercise! I have days - specially hormonal driven days - where my appetite is much healthier than my new post sleeve normal - I drink a lot of Water and I really try to be mindful and identify if the hunger is real or if it's me tired/bored/sad, etc. If I do eat more, I will eat 4 oz then wait about an hour and have some more. You may want to increase the number of healthy meals on days you work out that much - I mean, likely you are burning more than you are actually eating on 10miles plus kick boxing - That is great, but be aware of burning out -
This post was incredibly helpful to me. I was concerned that I was not losing fast enough, but I now see I am within the average. I have not started working out regurlarly mostly because I was told by my surgeon's nut I could only eat 3 meals a day and naturally only 4 oz. So when I work out I get ravenous - I am meeting with another NUT and will begin my work out this month. Anyway, here are my stats :-) HW: 279 SW:263 CW:219 M1 -21 M2 -13 M3 -10 Highest size 22 - Current size 14 Thank you again for the great posts!
