I never had pain after my surgery.. Just a little gas felt in my shoulder. Just be patient with the post op eating protocol.. Don't eat something ahead of schedule otherwise u could make things worse. If u need to be a stage longer than what was on your food plan..than be it. I had to stay on the liquids one week longer cause purée did not settle with me at first. if u have pain right after surgery. Remember "This too shall pass". Think positive.. And dream about your new healthy future that is yet to come. Blessing your way.

Carlotta1 replied to MaryRS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going to st lucia for vacation next ..leave next Saturday". Since it is an all inclusive ..I am sure they will have healthy ( and unhealthily) choices. Going to see my nut and psychologist on Tuesday to prepare myself in making healthy decisions for me. I plan on being active. I also plan on being ok with myself If I indulge a little. Just a little. My psych/nut told me that my all or nothing attitude eating has to go. Anyhow. Have fun on your cruise. I love cruises. .. -

Carlotta1 replied to MozzaWehsha's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I could finally eat at 6 weeks without feeling sick or regurgitating my food. I had to stay on liquids one extra week cause purée caused issues. But all of a sudden at 6 weeks.. I was all good eating chicken, beef, seafood, etc... -
I understand how u feel . You r right at the beginning u drink all these sweet protein drinks. I used to be a sugarholic pre op. Now I tend to go to a food healthy meal which is salted and seasoned well . Of course, I am not complaining that I lost a good bit of my sweet tooth. I if u just had surgery within the last month.. Just be patient..around week 5 or 6,you will enjoy many salty food. Hang in there

Does anybody eat bread?
Carlotta1 replied to alwaysonadiet's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do eat natures own 100% light bread.. But I have to eat it well toasted..I eat one slice on occasion with an egg for breakfast. I also love smoked salmon so I make an one half sandwich with 2 oz smoked salmon, Dijon mustard, sliced tomatoe , a little bit of sliced purple onions and a teaspoon of light mayo. It taste great. -
Lost 57% of my excess weight loss at 3 months !
Carlotta1 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I can't wait for my BMI to be under 30..I am so close. Guess I can be called overweight and not obese at this point :} I am happy with my weight loss and looking forward to losing the extra 32 pounds. It may take more time. But as long as I keep true to myself ..I will get there. Going to St. Lucia for spring break at the Sandals Resort. I plan on exercising by hiking, using their fitness room, and walking on the beach ..I am seeing my pysch and nut this Tuesday so that they can guide me on how to handle the food aspect of staying at an all inclusive resort. Of course, I don't like liquor or wine..so at least that is on my side. -

Sooo nervous
Carlotta1 replied to hopeful2loose2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most people are afraid before the surgery. Of course, you are having surgery and surgery has its own risk and it is scary. But stay positive. keep yourself busy..idle mind is dangerous. :} I had the same concerns as you. Especially with this surgery. I am going to be a success with the sleeve, etc etc etc. But it seems as though your gut is telling you (like me )..this must be done. Think of it this way..at our weight prior to surgery or a pre op diet. We were at danger with our health..so what is worse..getting a tool to help you get healthier or stay unhealthy and still be in danger.. Do the best you can on your pre op diet..prepare for surgery to ensure you have the necessary things in your house for after surgery..It will here before you know it. Wishing you the best and keep us updated on your progress. Logging on to this website often will be helpful and motivational. -
how do I cook for me and my son
Carlotta1 replied to hazeleyes8361's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also cook with a crook pot..It saves time, does not make a mess.. When I get a chance..I bake chicken legs or thighs (skinless)..with herbs I buy at La Madeline..It is delish. I cook about 12 pieces at a time and store it in zip lock bag or freeze some. I also get two pieces of salmon and cook it ahead of time. If you could in bulk and then store food. then you won't be scrambling for what to eat. I always have something in the frig for me to grab. It takes planning but you can do it.. It takes no time to bake something in the oven and it's a quick preparation. Also I steam my seafood or boil shrimp with lots of Cajun seasonings. it is delish. Steamed tilapia , salmon, catfish, etc. takes about 5 minutes. Just put a little water in a pan (heat it to steaming) and add your seasoned seafood on low heat and cover on low heat. Voila' ..you have fresh cooked seafood. Enjoy. !!! -
I am 60 years old and lost 33 pounds post op in three months. (plus an 10 pounds pre-op). Of course someone in their 20's would conceivably lose faster. and I have seen the stats on this website that indicates such. But don't worry too much about "rate of weight loss" ...There are lots of factors if you compare to others. It is nice to see someone lose fast..however, I am very happy with my progress. I am concentrating on making lifestyle changes to maintain my weight loss, not just to take the weight off. (I could always lose weight, but I would immediately gain it back). I have 32 pounds left. As long as I am eating healthly most of the time , exercise , get good sleep. Then the 32 pounds will follow in time. Hopefully this help with you concern about weight loss :}

Billie 70. yes it is called the 3 week stall :} it is very common so we named it such. Just keep following your eating protocol. Your weight will move. Your body is adjusting to the surgery and low calorie intake ..Once your dr. releases you to exercise..my suggestion is to start..it will def help you with weight loss. Just keep on doing what u are doing. and btw the post above ..just ignore it. We don't need sarcasm on this web site. especially when we are helping newbies. Let us know if you have further questions.

Struggling with junk food.
Carlotta1 replied to youthguy80's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Get it out your home immediately...your junk food. For a while eat only at home so that u can get to the basics. Eat protein first.. Measure your food. And drink tons of water. . Limit carb intake. Taking in too much carbs triggers me to want sweets.. Etc. You have come so far ..please don't jeopardize yourself. You know what to do. Just start doing it. . -
Of course u will be ok to do stenuous exercise at that point. I started doing stenuous exercise at 8 weeks.

Weight Scale gives a different weight every time I get on it.
Carlotta1 replied to 1Day1Life4Now's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check your bartteries ..mine is very dependable except when my batteries are low on juice. When I. Change my batteries .when this happens.. It is all good. If u bought it recently and it is jot the batteries .return to the store u bought it. Exchange for a different brand. I would be frustrated also if my scale fluctuated. -

I can't even imagine what it would be like...
Carlotta1 replied to Flutterfly19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do have a small piece of pizza ..not often. Maybe once a month. As u go through the months with your sleeve. You will find that you do. Not have the hunger pangs as before. I got full very fast. Especially when I eat my protein first. Also my obsession with food has diminished a lot. I was always hungry before the surgery and never felt full even though I would binge on 2000 calories in a short time. It is so different nice. Now head hunger, I do get sometimes when I exhaust myself, don't get enough rest, and feel anxiety. But now I listen to my body.. When I feel hungry..i check with my body and I know it is not physical hunger most if the tine. . But not head hunger. . So I do what I have to do to relieve my head hunger .. My partying job does cause me to get anxious at times.. When I feel like that, I go my sugar free Popsicle .i sit down and rest , and I am fine. !!!!!!!! It is all good. -
