    Dizzy

I was dizzy for several weeks after the surgery..but it subsided as time went on. We had major surgery and our bodies need to heel . Check your blood pressure several times during the day. I usually got dizzy when I rose from a laying position. Also, I could hardly drink water for weeks after the surgery. That was also a factor,

    Doctor recommendation.....

I had the lap band 7 years ago. It did not work for me, I never felt full. I had the sleeve on dec 9 and it is so much different with the band I don't have the hunger pangs like I used to. Prior to my surgery I was always hungry. My doctors are moving away from the band due to complications with it. I am happier with my sleeve and seeing more success. Review the topic under sleeve forum for those who had the lap and and converted to the sleeve. This will give u a better perspective . Good luck.
  4. Thanks for posting this...I will start a weekly chart as we'll to see my progress in black and white. I am also weighing myself everyday which I want to do once a week now. I had a slow down and it was getting me very discouraged. I am 7 weeks out and I eating 65 grams of protein and 800 calories per day.. I hit my second stall. I am drinking enough water. It is cold and drinking water does not appeal to me. Anyhow thanks.
  5. I was told at an informative session on the several types of bariatric surgery that diabetes patients have more success with RNY than the sleeve. I don't have diabetes, so maybe sleeves with diabetes can share their experience . Ask your dr why he thinks the surgery he suggested is better than the sleeve.

    Why the sleeve?

I had the lap and..did not work for me. At all. With the sleeve my appetite is def curbed. I don't get hungry most of the time. Which is great. Before my surgery I was always , always hungry . I did not opt for the RNY ..too much routing of your insides and the biggest issue.. Malabsorption for the rest of your life. Too drastic ...

Sugar free Popsicles really refreshed me from dry mouth or nasty taste in my mouth. And when it would be difficult to est or frink..my Popsicle helped. I still eat one at least 3 x a week. Do u also have a fever thermometer just in case u need it. I also enjoyed warm broth in the first week. Get a good name branded one.

    My 600 lb Life: Whoa

Our family does notice and is totally aware of our eating issues, even if we think we are hiding it from them. . They know. I have had three way conversations my daughters and I about my food addiction. They would tell me what they observe and discuss their loving concerns. This is what family is al about, support, concern, and most of all love. So don't be ashamed or afraid to let into your world ..

    I'm so hungry!

When I get myself tired..I notice my hunger shoots up. So I try to slow down my life by take an afternoon nap, relax, or postpone my errands. Also if i do get the hunger feeling, which is not often, I eat a sugar free Popsicle. It is refreshing and only 5 calories.

    One Month Plus

You sound so pumped up..that is great. Congrats on your weight loss thus far. Yes u have good reason to be proud of yourself. I too forget to chew my food to almost nothing. I still eat too fast. Well, I may have slowed down a little, but not enough. It is hard to break old habits. One thing that works for me when I am eating meats is to cut the food into small pieces before I start to eat. That helps with not taking too big of a bite.

I get a gladiator from smoothie king. Smallest size which is about 20 oz and I sip on it for 3 hours. I don't think your shake is certainly too big. I am seeing my nut today and will let u know what she says about size of shake. Ok.

    saddened and frustrated

R u eating salty foods. I gained one pound one day and I cut my salt intake and the next day I lost 2. I was eating smoked salmon. ..1-2 ounces .. However it has such a high salt content. Also cottage cheese has so high salt content. So be aware of Water retention. . Eating at restaurants..even the small bit we can eat..has plenty of salt. Use myfitnesspal to log in your food. It gives u the sodium count for each food you enter. I love this website ..it keeps my calorie and Protein count..goal 800 calories and 65 grams of protein. I think the daily sodium intake recommended is less than 2500 per day.

    1st restaurant experience

Get a card from the dr or hospital that will help get a smaller portion from restaurants ..Kids size, etc. I don't like left overs so bringing food home is a waste of my money.. Oh. ..unless my husband wants to eat it.
