Love your enthusiasm for the what is yo come in the future. Woe.. U r getting that much preteen on day three. ..I did get that point till 4th weeks. Keep us posted on your progress. -
I am 10 weeks out and now use chewable gummies. I could NOT tolerate regular vitamins. Now I use gummies for my vit and minerals, caramel calcium chewable, and iron with vitamin c chewable fruit tablets. I faithfully take my vit/minerals. Go to. Bariatric Advantage and they do sell chewable which are tasty and tolerable,

Don't spend your time about "how fast" ...think about how u are making progress towards up your healthily weight goal and after that maintaining your weight loss the rest of your life.. This is not a race to the finish line..but a journey that will last a lifetime to bring healthily and full of energy. I am not dropping weight by the loads.. As a matter fact I prefer not to lose too quickly so that my body can adjust at a new weight. And i think it will also help to keep the weight off since we had more time to make lifestyle changes... Another key to your success is consistent exercising. Not leisure walking but putting it into gear to get your body healthier..cardio and strength. I started exercising 6 weeks after I had my surgery and it really helped with dropping more pounds. I was at a stall and the exercise helped with that. So my message to you is be happy what u have accomplished. And more is to come, in time.

Thanks for posting this rjs. ..it is so inspiring. And what an articulate guy.

At two weeks I was only on. Liquids. I started eating purée at week 4. What does your small meal consist of. I was not allowed yo est solids till week 6. And my body certainly was not ready for purée or even worse, solids during week two.. What eating guidelines were given to you. I had eating stages to follow: clear liquids, liquids such as protein shakes, purée foods, soft foods, then a high protein , low carb diet . Check with your nurse, doc or nutritionist yo make sure u are following their protocol. -
how soon can I eat, sleeved on 2/4
Carlotta1 replied to kitty323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your doc did not give u eating guidelines. ? I started eating puréed foods the 4th week after my surgery. I was supposed to be on liquids for only two weeks., however, I could not eat purée till the fourth week cause it would not go down and my stomach could not ingest the food. it was a slow process for me to introduce new foods. Check with your doc office or the nutritionist u saw pre-surgery. Stick to their guidelines. -
Hit a plateau need some help!
Carlotta1 replied to sanaz365days's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I my my opinion, your taking too few calories in since u r 5 months out and u r exercising on top of that. I am 9 weeks out and I get weak when I push myself hard with cardio for 30 minutes, and taking in 800 calories and about 70 grams of protein, try to increase your calorie intake and see what it does. What type of exercising do u do. Make sure u r breaking out into a sweat. I had a stall several weeks ago..and since I do 30 minutes of medium strenuous cardio, the scale dropped 3 pounds the next week and I continued to lose. Shake things up .. To find what alternatives r best for u. -
Depressed I have not lost weight in 1 1/2 week since surgery.
Carlotta1 replied to Babypee49's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In most cases , sleeves hit a plateau at the same time u r hitting yours.. Just be patient and the scale will move.. Try to drink more water ,that will help. Your body is adjusting ... -
Losers Bench
Carlotta1 replied to Sarah Waring2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes I have.. Take very small sips and drink slowly, rest between sips. . Do not gulp. It will subside as times goes by, somewhat. When I eat my meal, I also get the hiccups and then cannot take another bite, otherwise I'll puke.. Even though I ate very little. I probably am still eating too fast sometimes. -
You probably will feel very tired for the first two weeks.. If u can take sick leave. .that is what I would recommend. It also depends how strenuous is your job. You should pick up heavy objects, more than 8 pounds, for the first month, Some people go back to work after one week, if it is a desk job and your sick leave is minimal.

R u exercising ..I was in a stall then I said to myself..time to get moving. And boy did that break my stall .,I do 30 minutes of hard cardio for 30 minutes, do weight machines, and swim laps. Lost 3 pounds the first weeks after I started to exercise. -

Munch, munch, munch! NO! HELP!
Carlotta1 replied to kitch101's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You may feel stressed, tired, over worked, etc. Figure out how u feel mentally .that may help.. When I get really tired I get head hunger and want to grab something. Then I take the time to see how is my mental state . Once I identify that..I either slow down my life, rest, or deal with whatever is stressing me. I don't go to food to appease me when I analyze myself. Also , r u drinking water..check your hydration .. Is it your time of month? Don't knock yourself out for today's munching. Before I had surgery and was stressed, etc, I would binge and eat about 2,000 calories in one sitting over my regular caloric needs.. Now I cant do this anymore . -
Hi . I have my surgery booked for March 10th.
Carlotta1 replied to LisaJ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really fatigued for the first two weeks, then it subsided. Can u tell your boss that u have yo take it easy with lifting , etc. Can u do lighter , less strenuous work when u get back to work..at least for a little while. I was told not to lift anything over 8 pounds the first month. How long do plan on taking off before u return to work.? -
I was also nauseous during the few weeks , early in the game. This will subside. I don't get nauseous anymore.

bad day and fell off the wagon.....
Carlotta1 replied to kyleebean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first hing I would do is get relief from your stress. That is probably what is causing you to eat. Figure out how u scam minimize your stressors. Sometimes we have to make hard decisions or changes in our lives to live a more peaceful life.. OK..u ate about 800 calories so far today. That is not surely a binge. just eat lean Protein tonight and skip any carbs.. ...drink plenty of Water ..lots of it. And then get some good rest. Go to bed earlier tonight. Or keep your mind distracted by reading a good book. Hopefully I've help. -
I am 9 weeks out and my calorie requirement at this stages is 800 .. At month 5 they want me to be at 1100 cal, if possible . Your doc should have explained to you that there is a progression .. There is no way u can that much after 4 Wes. I probably was 500 -600 calories at that time ..max

Wonderful for u.. Isn't it exciting that u went from a 20 to a 14 in 3 months. More to come I'm sure. Anyhow congrats on your success.
-
I use myfitness pal to track my nutrients. I intake about 20% fat on of a 800 calorie diet. This is usually not added fat but fat from red meat , salmon, dark chicken ..etc.

Mixed Feelings On The Newfound Attention
Carlotta1 replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Maybe u have more confidence and now more approachable. Anyhow..don't let that bother u that u r getting attention ( sometimes unwanted ) U r a very attractive person ..so continue swaggering -
Amen..feel the same here. No more feelings of lethargic from binging on carbs.
-
I am 9 weeks out today, and the guidance from my nut was to be at 800 calories at this point. , I exercise 3-4 times a week. 30 minutes of hard cardio. Then do machines for lower body.. Also swimming laps. I could not do this on a 500calorie diet, . Seems as though u need to increase your calories. And protein grams Don't be afraid and try it. I am losing consistently . Last week 3 pounds. I am currently at 800 calories and target grams 70-75 ..this suggestion may help u.

So, should I be 'disappointed', 'flattered' or 'indifferent'?
Carlotta1 replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with terri82 much.. Your were already beautiful in the eyes of others. They looked beyond your physical and saw a dynamic, intelligent person. And that was enough for all who knows u. To me , that is such wonderful people to be surrounded by, you r lucky indeed, -
Don't worry about getting your last feast in. Maybe that is why u have gained weight.. Nervous eating. I can attest u will be able to still enjoy wonderful, heathy food , even after surgery..(.of course u will have to go through the various eating stages to get there.). Get on a high protein diet , low carb today. U can lose these five pounds before your next dr visit, plus some. Start ToDAY..NOW. oK.
