    cereal?

I do eat Kellogg's complete bran cereal. This is allowed on my eating plan given by my nut at the hospital I had surgery. I eat it about once a week. I don't have a carb limit.. But a calorie and protein gram requirement. 800 calories and at least 70 grams of protein. I am 10 weeks out. Check with your nut or doc.
  2. I had the band to sleeve conversion on same surgery day. In my case, I am more successful with the sleeve than the with the band . Wishing u good results with the sleeve,

New to group, had op 29 Jan

I had a hard time on purée foods. It did not hurt me.. But it would not stay down. There are plenty of symptoms that we all feel after our surgery ..some are normal, some are not. I would call my doc and explain your situation.. Just to be safe.
  4. Carlotta1

    Is this normal?

I was nauseated for the first couple of weeks..but not that far out. I agree with sassy pants..go see a dr.

    Help please!

I used a suppository when I was so constipated. It worked but boy did it hurt when I had the bm . I see people using miralax on occasions and stool softeners on a reg basis.

    Guy's any regrets?

None.. However the first week after surgery I did have a moment of realization that my relationship with food will changeforever. I had a little melt down for one day. Just wanted to cry. I never looked back that day. Now ..no regrets at all. Food is def not my focus in life like it was preop,

    sugar substitute

Cut down from what I did pre op. Use much less now. And no diet soda at all since surgery

    sugar substitute

Yes. I use artificial sweeteners. 1 pack per day. My guidelines were to use it sparsely. I have cut down from what I did post op.

    Fear of Failure

The sleeve gave me peace with always feeling hungry and never feeling full. Since I have had the sleeve. I am not that hungry..it took that away from me. Yah. Then my sleeve foes not allow me overreact. I listen to my stomach and it tells me when I have eaten enough. Which is very, very little compared to what I ate before the surgery. I was a binge eaten. I have not binged once since my surgery. I don't feel like stuffing my face anymore. And my taste has changed for the better. I was a sugarholic, now I am tempted by that stuff anymore. Before I had surgery.,I had doubts just like y'all and I'd read the same statements from others of how eating has changed , just like the way I feel now. I am very happy I made this decision.

    Protein question

Veggie Burger certainly not a soft food .. Your body is telling u it is not ready for that. I had to stay on soft foods longer till my body was able to handle something like a veggie or tofu burger.

Want to talk about a stall again?

Protein is very important for weight loss and keeping muscle mass while u lose weight. Your dr office or your nutritionist should have given u eating guidelines for continue weight loss success. Find out this info quickly ,,u need guidance of what and how much to eat. If your doc/ hospital where u had the surgery does not have this info...the internet has tons of info of what to eat..getting in enough protein is a key cimponent to continued weight loss after the sleeve,

I had the lapband for about 5 years.. Never was successful withh the band. Never felt full. Then in dec 2013 ..I had surgery to remove the band and have sleeve surgery at same time., it was the best decision. Now my appetite has dismissed significantly and I eat very healthy.. But in small portions. The sleeve forums has a topic on lapband to sleeve. U can finds lots of info ..and comments about the conversion.n

I lost 3 pounds that first week of exercising and continue yo lose consistently. How many calories and Protein r u ingesting. I am about 800 calories and 70 gprotrin. R u eating enough calories. Contact your nutritionist also. She can help.

U only have about two weeks on your preop diet. Time will fly by. Just keep yourself busy so that your mind can be elsewhere other than food. Congrats on getting a date for your surgery.

    Pressure cooker

I have a friend who uses a pressure cooker send she swears by it. Less nutition escapes from veggies, cooks faster. And meat tender. Good idea. I want to get one.
  19. Wishing u a speedy recovery. U r right..if it hurts BSA.. There is something wrong.. Go to the dr or emergency room., thanks for sharing ..let us know what your progress with pan and healing
  20. A consultant appt. should not cost $500?. .. I was charged nothing till right before surgery. I paid what was left of my stop -loss amount for year 2013 a couple of days before surgery. If I were u I would not wait for another year. I documented my weight loss history and had my gyno subunit my weight for the last 5 years I had annual well woman physical.. Maybe your family dr has a record of your weight .. Also talk to your insurance and see what qualifications u have to meet to have the surgery. Evidently with this doc u will to pay for a consult no matter when u start this process. Your friend that paid only 100$ may have used up some of deductible and that is why she paid less than what is required by you.

    7 months post op

I had the opposite problem..I did not think I was that overnight before surgery..but I saw pic of myself prior to surgery ..I was bigger than what my eyes saw. Trace your body on blocking paper ..then u. Can see how others see u through their eyes. Too bad u had not done this prior to surgery. Then u would have been amazed. U look great. We can surely see a big difference. Congrats. Yes and have that tummy tuck in the future if need be.

    Tomorrow, tomorrow....

Enjoy your stay in the hospital and let the nurses take care of you.. I was so restful in the hospital that I wanted to stay another day.v . If u do get anxious when u get to the hospital .ask for something to relax u. Ahhhhh. And most importantly stick to the eating protocol that was given to u, either by your doc office or nutritionist when u get home. Be patient with the process, Wishing u a speedy recovery. Mine recovery went so smooth, except for some Weakness and tiredness the first two weeks.

    8 months post-op (pic)

Mrs RRN. U are looking great. 105 pounds is an amazing achievement . PS. . U r a very attractive women.
  24. This stall happens to most of us. Your body is adjusting to your 30 pound weight loss in 3 weeks. You can't expect your body to lose 10 pounds per weeks. I lost 18 pounds the first three weeks. Now it is slower but I am getting there. Start exercising if your dr released u to exercise. Move your body. You also want to increase your caloric. Intake a little also. See what works for u., but most of all , don't get discouraged ..keep a positive mind. And don't put all of your success on the scale., there are inches being lost, more energy being had, more of a heather body by feeding your body with healthier foods, etc. Hopefully this helps you look at the big picture.
