I found bariatric pal in my pre op phase of my journey. I joined because I feel that communication among like minded individuals can be beneficial. When I said enough is enough was on a family vacation. I was restricted from participating and or enjoying certain activities because of my weight. It was embarrassing and knowing my children knew why I was being excluded made me feel bad for them. I knew what all too well what that felt like. Both of my parents were overweight/obese growing up. However, my mom was the one restricted. She died from complications of diabetes at 47 years old.

I have had success thus far and I still have some work to do. This journey has already taken me places I never thought I'd go emotionally, physically and regards to my goals. I never thought I could be fit/thin/athletic I now understand that I can achieve any goal and it will take hard work and dedication.
