are you eating a lot of salt? might be Water, those fat cells love to hold onto water to save space for the fat to return, it wont however! one day youll go to the bathroom 15 times and drop 4 lbs. this happens to me quite often. Its called whooshing. its what causes the stalls in weight loss.

Anyone have any trouble eating? or breaking the drinking with a meal habit?
Moxy replied to StartingOver27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The no drinking during meals and half hour on each side is so you wont get hungry again when you flush the food out of your tummy. i follow this to the letter. i follow all doc orders to the letter becasue i dont want my tool to be a failure. Everyone is different with what they can eat, i am 7 month post op and i STILL cannot digest tunafish. its painful, sits in my stomach for a couple hours and then i throw up. i eat mainly chicken from cans so its really moist and make shredded chicken tacos with it,(top with fat free sour cream salsa and low fat cheese!) or buffalo chicken wraps. i can tolerate tortillas really well and they pack well too for road trips in a lunchbag cooler. Crock pot chicken is a life saver as well. I can eat some fish like tilapia (fish tacos !) and swai but nothing heavy like salmon or tuna. -
I had a lot of back/hip and knee pain pre surgery, i was 336lbs. once i lost about 60 lbs i could work out without too much pain. now that ive lost 140 i can speed walk on the treadmill but running still hurts my hips pretty bad and it takes a couple days to recover from it.

Tasty but complete multi vitamin
Moxy replied to Patoonces's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I take Opurity chewable. one per day sorta tastes like a sweet tart. http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/bariatric-vitamins/opurity-bypass-optimized-multi-vitamin.html these are what my dietician told me to take. i take an Iron pill on top of it for a week after my period. ive always had a low iron issue after my cycle. -
I normally pick carbmasters (from krogers) yogurt or cottage cheese. i tend to eat 6 small meals thro the day - all snack sized, but these are what i consider something fast to snack on instead of "making" something.

I have only had one negative person in my family. My mother, who is overweight and diabetic, she doesnt follow any of her doctors orders for her sugar. she is on shots and thinks they are there so she can have sugar. Im constantly educating to her about what she eats and she just says everyone needs sugar.. When i told her i was having surgery all she said was, everyone i have ever known that had that gained it all back within 5 years why are you wasting time on it. It hurt knowing she thinks im going to be a failure before i even had the surgery. It hurts knowing she wont be around long enough to see that i WILL make this tool work and keep the weight off if she doesnt change her eating habits. I had my surgery in november, I didnt want to become her and have to rely on shots in order to eat. i want to be around for my kids for a long long time. Thankfully my dad tells me about once a week that he is proud of my decision because babies need their moms. My sisters for telling me i'm beautiful and inspiring, and my friends who cannot believe my determination to get healthy. My advice, surround yourself with positive people, try to educate the ignorant ones, the ones who think its just a smaller stomach and you can eat whatever you want still. The ones who think we are cheating to get skinny, instead of sacrificing fat and sugar for high Protein so we can get healthy and live longer. Some, like my mom wont ever get it. No matter how much we explain.

Moxy replied to DauntlessGirlonFire's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
OH i misunderstood what you were trying to do i have no support besides this page. i had a girl that had surgery around the same time as i did. i would send her encouragement but never really got anything out of the situation. When i stopped contacting her the relationship ended. Would be nice to have someone(s) who understands what im going thro -

Im finding the stuff i have been eating is not filling me up. this has been happening the past couple weeks. i dont feel like im over filling or that im uncomfortable. Is it normal around this time to feel like you can eat more? im still at about 800-900 calories a day, still making the right choices. i find that after i drink a large amount of Water i feel really hungry. still getting between 60-70 grams of Protein a day. i just don't want to start going down a bad path of taking in too many calories.

12 month pre op diets with a dietician supervision is pretty standard now, as is the psych eval. they want to make sure you are ready for the huge change in diet that comes after surgery.

i get dizzy when my Iron drops. i have to take iron on top on my bariatric Vitamin around my time of the month or i cant stand up without almost falling over. always good to run things past your doc, they can do a quick blood test and find out what is causing it.

Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
Moxy replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Unfortunately your friend is the type of person why i don't tell a lot of people that i had surgery, People are ignorant when it comes to Gastric bypass. They think its so we can be thin and that we are doing it for vanity reasons. i started out at 336 and am now 7 months post op at 206. i can actually play with my kids now. that was the major reason i had surgery among other heath issues that were starting to pile up. Your "friend" needs an education about the surgery, although judging from the blog she posted she is very closed minded and regards her opinion above yours about it. Try to educate her. If she still wants to cut ties with you because you want to get healthy then its her choice. Some people just want to remain ignorant in order to back, and further their own agenda. -
