New numbers on the SCALE wow!/Nasua empty sleeve early morning :(

Ok... So wow this has been such a transformation for me so far very happy with results so far and are seeing numbers on the scale I have NEVER seen that's great AWESOME actually never experienced such a thing before feels great but my BIGGEST upset is this nauseous feeling I get every morning... I take my acid blockers at night that helps with the burning but I feel empty like no food in my tummy at all I hate eating at this hour very early 5am/6am because all I want to do is go back to sleep and enjoy my morning easing into my Breakfast, it's like I have to eat something to feel better and if I pick the wrong (soft food) to consume like sweets (Protein drink, apple sauce, yogurt I get so nauseous and tummy starts going crazy wanting to vomit. So yes I am trying to stay away from the sweets as a coat for my tummy but choose more warm foods but wow I have to actually cook the food (not a fan of microwave food, would rather bake it taste better/boil/sear) and the microwave food I can handle cant eat right now at this stage. So Im like really now I have to have bfast when I don't even want to cook/eat ahhhhh just wanna sleep pls help thx. PREOP-357 SURGERY DAY 1/14 ----- 341 MONTH 1/20/14 ----- 323 2/24-----309 -

@@Veronica Page.... I was only on clear liquids 2 days before surgery to help shrink my liver and in hospital when I was able to be discharged from the hospital then I was able to be on full liquids that's anything liquid and not clear. So yes food as long as no lumps/clumps(through the strainer) and able to run easy off a spoon. Example: Thinned applesauce but no pudding or yogurt. You can thin out anything though with juice water or milk lol. And @ReadyForMe PLEASE SHARE ALL SOFT FOOD IDEAS I CANT WAIT FOR TEXTURE EITHER!

I was sleeved 1/14/15 if anyone would like to keep in touch email me: Briconnect@gmail.com com I was a big foodie so when it comes to what to eat I really take charge lol hate to be deprived love being satisfied and love looking good. I would love to share ideas HMU! BRI Also I hear Unflavored ISOPURE protein powder is the best if you don't like or are sick of all the choc, vanilla n strawberry whey's. Good luck hope this helps! Go to pinrest.com search protein shakes the recipes look so good... I'm picking up some "cookie butter" from trader joes later to add to a new protein recipe. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/proteinshakes.htm http://greatist.com/eat/high-protein-smoothie-recipes

1 week post op down 15lbs since surgery. I noticed that becoming creative with your protein drinks really help a lot. Start with a good protein mix (whey) whether its amp max premier lean body jay robs isopure find your match this is important. Next Google protein recipes your interested in you must shop for all ingredients and follow the recipe to the T. Make sure your measuring right and for the liquid part try and use real milk (non fat 1% 2%etc) because that's what has the most protein in it. I use lactaid free with calcium (yellow top blue container)(has 10g of protein in 1 serving that's a lot and that's just to liquify your shake. Another key important rule I have learned is GREEK YOGURT! CHOBANI IS 20G PROTEIN for a cup! That's 30g protein without p. Powder already. Next have fun in the frozen fruit in fresh fruit aisle also spice n flavor booster aisles... Buy SF Carmel, sf vanilla, pumpkin spice, chai, decaf instant coffee add some to a dark choc recipe and bam your very own mocha FRAP. Or pumpkin/chair frap, also key lime pie protein drinks you only need, lime lemon juice and non fat cool whip for this recipe (I also bought 50%reduced fat graham cracker pie crust) to add to it to give it a more pie like flavor. You have to make the best out of this liquid stage. Even if it's a little higher in sugar than recommended. The key importance is getting fluids and protein in. You can always make good sugar choices though for example I use stevia in the raw to add sweetness and plain Greek chobani yogurt vs. Vanilla flavored. You can also get SF torani syrups and Starbucks syrups online. For soups get creative. I like going to restaurants every day for what I feel is a treat getting anywhere from a lobster bisque, clam chowder to even chili from Wendy's go home heat it up then blend the hell out of it so there's no lumps or bumps. My NUTRITIONIST SAID... AS long as it runs off your spoon with ease its considered a liquid! Even if its potato buds in a box thinned out with milk/water or buttery cream of wheat thinned out with water. When you master the art of liquefying you'll be so much happier n satisfied. I promise hope this helps cause it's helped me. Also Popsicles with the cream on the inside is a good treat and lactaid free low sugar ice cream with a splash of milk in the blender is so satisfying. We have already been deprived of no texture food until about month two/3 so let's make the best of it. Also I hear the bariatric advantage chews(chewies)not gummies for a multi vitamin option are the best they come in choc. peanut butter n orange flavor. Good luck

I was sleeved on 1/14 at valley care medical in pleasanton CA. 5 days post op and my recovery is getting better as each day goes on. I am not necessarily hungry like hunger pains but do feel empty at times especially in the morning. I satisfy this with my protein shakes and half juice/water. Since I know I have to start my pill breakfast and must coat my new stomach with that so I won't get nasueus. I'm trying to find a better way to take less pills then I have to the multivitamin is a huge horse pill even cut up in 3s. And my calcium citrate is huge as well. I was wondering is there a easier way to incorporate these. Like blend them in my protein drinks get the liquid version or gummie version? are gummies even allowed at this stage? If so how much liquid and gummies should I take and what brand is the tastiest and most effective. Also is cream of wheat very thinned with milk (I use lactose free) and mashed potatoes very thinned with milk so it runs off off my spoon like liquid ok to consume at this stage? I also strain it after its cooked to remove the lumps n bumps. I tried this today as well as a strained thinned seafood tomato bisque and it was so much better then just juice water and protein drinks. Also do you guys have any other good suggestions to consume at this stage I don't like soup can soups creamed or broth just not good flavor I'd prefer restaurant soups of course blended and strained just know I may get tired of the tamato and mashed potatoes soon. I can't wait for texture! But I know that's month 3.

Undecided And My Concerns....3 Month Pre-Op Diet
Happy2BMe1 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi...... My name is Danielle and I am approved by my insurance and doctors to proceed with either the VSG OR LBS!!!! YAY ME! 10/10/13 Me: 357 Currently:354lbs Surgery Date: Need to loose 19lbs total 16lbs to go then I receive my surgery date Eating Habits: Very Low Flour, Low Sugar ( F.O.G) Farm, Ocean, Ground Lifestyle Exercise Level Currently: Moderate (swimming/cycling) I really want to go ahead with the VSG because I know its less invasive, less maintenance and in the long run I would receive better results at a faster rate than LBS As I read through posts with VSG I understand you can basically eat almost anything you want in life later as long as its in very small portions.(believe that's correct)....My BIGGEST concern is that the mortality rate is higher than LBS....The fact that I can leak and catch pneumonia, blood clot, heart attacks really makes me think twice....I'm unclear is that after surgery and during the healing time and never have those horrid risks later? Do those percentages change after the healing time? Where can I get valid updated statistics on this online anywhere?...... I do also understand that everything involves a risk especially with surgery nothing is guaranteed but if I am more informed I will be more confident. I haven't researched the LBS as much just because its so much information on both surgeries and I'm barely getting through the VSG info. It seems safer to get LBS after all and yes it may take longer to loose the weight that's ok with me and I will have more peace of mind during healing time with this decision. But then I also don't want to keep getting multiple surgeries after the surgery. The tightening I'm ok with, but anything fatal later or many hospital visits after is a big concern for me. With all this I want to put my safety first and feel confident in my decision I appreciate all the advice....I have tried everything and time and time again its always about eating until I was full with me but I know once I do feel full I am satisfied! I have been on a very low flour low sugar F.O.G Lifestyle and have lost 3lbs on my own this past month but am ready to get LBS or VSG to speed this up and be able to have children Im 27! almost time! You all look and like you have had a lot of success but I want to feel more comfortable with my decision on which surgery is best for me.... thx! THANK YOU VSG FORUM!
