  1. Hi. I was banded 8/29....Ok I've read alot of threads regarding the incision/wound "leaking" or "draining", I read all the info my doctor gave me on Seroma and that its normal. Yes I already called him, he said to clean the incision several times a day with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin and keep the dressing clean. All that being said, I'm still freaking out! Is this normal? How long will it last? Why did it start really "leaking" on day 4? Maybe I just need some reassurance. I really, really don't want an infection. Thanks jad:help:

    night time bile

Have to agree. I had an unfill today due to the same reason. It started only once in a while and this past week I didn't sleep for 4 days from the nighttime bile. Had to rush to TJ for an unfill. Good Luck!

Any fill doctors in South Florida?

Hey. I too am looking for a Miami fill doctor. I go back to TJ and its a mission to get there! Let me know if you found someone!
  5. Hi. I was banded AUG07 and I too am a "Huacuzie". The treatment you receive from Dr. Huacuz and his facility is second to none. I know its kind of intimidating to go to another country and trust someone you've only met online or on the phone, but I did and I'm so happy for it. I can only tell you that my life has changed 180 degrees. Thank the lord I had no complications and any questions or worries were promptly answered by Dr. Huacuz personally. I've since returned for 2 fills and they have both been fast and painless. I recommend him to all my friends and family and to you too. Good luck and feel free to contact me if you have any hesitations. jad :nervous
  6. I would be weary of members that are so adamant about certian doctors when THEY'RE NOT EVEN THEIR PATIENT! I was banded by Huacuz in AUG07 and not only am I alive and kicking-it was a great experience! I will be returing this month for a fill- and Dr. Huacuz and his staff have been nothing but caring and interested in my progress even though I literally live on the other side of the continent from them. If i were you I would only take advice from actual PATIENTS not members that think they're experts cause they read blogs on the internet. First hand experience is best. Good luck! jad
  7. Alphaelle- you will not regret your choice, Huacuz is a great doctor. Just do what you're told and the surgery and lapband will be a breeze- oh and my best advice to you is CHEW. Chew a lot and then chew some more. You'll remember me in a couple of weeks! :-)
  8. Linda- I also was banded with Dr. Huacuz and I feel like a million bucks its been 8 wks since surgery and I can't even tell besides some small scars that I had surgery and the weight is coming off. Don't be nervous he will take good care of you! jad
  9. Hi i was banded in AUG07 with Huacuz and it has been a great experience! I HIGHLY recommend him and his facility. I will be returning on Saturday 10.27 for a fill....good luck on your search! jad
  10. I contacted my doctor and he stated that draining is normal. He also has me on rigorous cleaning regimen and i have it covered with a gauze and tape. I took antibiotics the first couple of days and I finished them already. He stated that as long as the draining was not pus like, smelled or changed colors I was ok but to keep an eye on it. Thanks for your reply keep me updated on how you;re doing. jad
  11. Thank you so much! I will search that.

    Stitches

Hi, how many weeks post op did your doc pull it out? Since I'm a MEx bander I need to do it myself :-(
  13. Hi. I'm so with you on the scar questions. I was banded on 8/29 and i'm already freaking out as to the scars. I only have 4 incisions, the port one is the worst the other 3 are very thin and healing nicely. The port one is pink and a little wide and its still draining, so I'm stressing the scar. I have very fair skin so I scar well but I think this one is going to give me a hard time. I had prior surgeries and i used a product called ScarGuard on my scars and they healed perfectly. I plan to use it again when my incisions close in a couple of weeks. If you fine anyother remedies, let me know! Thanks~

    Had mine done 8/30!

Hi guys I was banded 8/29 also and also got a fill before I left TJ, i was also back to work 9/4 but I'm finding i'm in pain due to sitting all day by 3-4pm. I have a good amount of pain in the port area, and I'm definetly walking around kind of like a hunchback since it hurts to stand straight up. I'm trying to walk, but finding its hard to get a full 30min in. Some questions for you guys... -Do you guys still have pain? -Also how do i tell gas pain from port pain? -Do you sleep on your side? Does it hurt? thanks jad
