I've been drinking the diet V8 Splash berry blend. I'm 5 weeks post op (today!) getting fluids and protein is my biggest challenge, too. You may want try a few sips and then dilute it if you can't handle it. One thing that helps me.... I bought a snow cone machine and I shave ice and pour my juice or powerade zero over the ice and eat it with a spoon. If you are drinking cold water, try room temp. My nutritionist suggested it because water was hurting my stomach, too.

Ok so I've been bad.... I'm 4.5 weeks post op (down 45 pounds!!!) and I tried a sip of soda! It caused a little bit of distress, but nothing unbearable. I don't plan on having much any time soon. Have any of you tried it? Anyone a year+ out drinking soda?

So Many Problems. Worth It?
Tracy Anderson replied to Tracy Anderson's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thanks everyone! Turns out, one of my tummy problems was drinking and eating too close together. Even a little sip can make me sick. So I'm doing the 30-30-30 rule and feeling much better! -
I am a 27 year old female who had the sleeve performed on Oct 14. My starting weight was 487 and on my 2 week post op, I lost exactly 30 pounds. I have had nothing but issues. The bottom lobes of my lungs collapsed after surgery and I developed a blood clot in my right lung. I wasn't able to get up the day of or after my surgery, I was in excruciating pain. I ended up being in the hospital 4.5 days. They didn't catch the clot, and 3 days later I was readmitted for another 4 days. The very expensive ($120 WITH insurance, for 1 week) lovenox injections weren't really working. I had increasing chest pains and shortness of breath, so my doc suggested I go to the ER, sure they would give me a CT. Turns out, I was readmitted yet again for another 4 days. I am now 4 weeks post op and on soft foods. My issue now is pretty severe stomach cramps and not to be crude, but diarrhea from hell. It's a very dark color, but appears to be dark, dark green. I'm also on Iron, but today, it had the coffee grounds appearance. Everything I eat, be it one soft scrambled egg, or Soup, juice, Jello, applesauce even Water makes me violently sick. It's all I can do to keep food and water down. I am going to my surgeon tomorrow for my 4 week, but has anyone else had a hard time like this?
