Good morning everyone, I've been reading, but just haven't posted. Must have caught the "grumpies" from Lisa, LOL. Just kidding, Lisa. You are a positive person to me. Hippmom, Lou is doing good. School keeps her hopping. She's at Region VIII now. I'm hanging in there. I'm not feeling any restriction at all. I'm not disappointed because I've read that sometimes it takes a few fills to get to that "sweet spot". I have been getting a little hungry a lot and sometimes I have not been so great on my eating. I guess Lisa will have to put me out with the "puter". I was another discussion in here, can't remember which one, but a lady suggested that she needed a kick in the butt ( for eating too much), so someone sent her a reply with a guy kicking another one and it read "you've just been kicked in the butt". I thought it was too funny. So I guess I need that kick. LOL Glad all the "sick and shut in's":sick are recuperating well.

POLL: Whats YOUR "FULL" SIGNAL??
A lot less replied to guinessgirl77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good morning ALL, I just got my 1st fill yesterday, but I always had a "strange" knot that came in my throat, so I always quit eating. People have said that it takes about two weeks for the restriction (if any at all with the 1st fill) to kick in, but I'm going to stop after I feel that little knot. I have "slimed" only once and it was not a nice feeling.:cry -
thj, Congrats on the weight loss. Don't you feel super? I think that this is the best decision ever for me. I like getting into those "smaller" big clothes. Sugarbear, glad to see you are feeling better, even if you aren't moving fast, but yet moving. Lisa, I think you are the most positive person ever. I think your ticker is out of this world. Get it ,stars, moon, etc. LOL Lo2Us, I remember when HC wasn't until October or later, now it's before it even gets cold. Well, my hat off to you cause I understand that it is busy and hard work.

TP, I made it "One day at a time, Sweet Jesus" (remember that song? lol). It was sooo hard, but with my bandster friends and their geniune support and helpful hints, we made it through. You will too. Be strong. "This too shall pass".

I fixed my ticker.

I like to get ANYWHERE early, so I was there around 7:40. I thought that maybe it would rain and I remembered the school zones (I travel Hwy 67). When is your next appt.? Mine will be 10/23 at 8:30.
-
Lisa, I did good. I ask D. H if he would talk to me as he did the fill. He was fine with talking, but I have to admit, I only heard every other word, I was still sort of scared, but I made it. I looked for you (like I would recognize you, lol). I left around 8:30, drove like a mad woman to get to school before 3rd period. Lisa, congrats on the weight loss. :whoo: I lost 13lbs. I was too happy. Now I've got to try and fix my ticker. Sugarbear, I thought that was so thoughtful of Dr. H to post a "get well" note to you. Hope everyday is a better day than the last.
-
Thanks, Lisa. My appt is at 8:15, (I think that Dr.'s H&K probably won't be there that early). I will try hard to relax. It is so bad how scared I am of needles. I'll think of you, Surgarbear and how brave you were. I probably would have passed out. LOL Dr. K tried to get me to touch my port and I absolutely freaked out, I would not do it. For 55, I am such a weenie.:help: Now after I get my fill, I can drink, but is there anything beside slim fast that I can drink?
-
Sorry, Surgarbear, I hope that you have a speedy recover. TP, glad to see that things are going well for you. Did someone get a "new" car? Wish I could. LOL Happy for you.:clap2:
-
Good morning all, Lisa stay out of trouble and don't ASK for any either. LOL I'm concentrating on my weight and I hate to "throw" it around. LOL Hippmom, I hope your leg/toe is better. Lo2us, Congrats on your pin. We don't have Drs.H or K at our mtgs. Betty and Debra does our mtgs in MP. I wish I could get my "sweet spot" the very first time I get my fill (that would be wishful thinking, LOL). Happy a blessed day!!!!!!

Post Op Diet Journal - Phase 1

CindyD, if you like drinking the V8 juice, you can find the "low sodium". I find that I can drink that w/o retaining too much fluids. I have enjoyed reading this thread. I had my surgery 8/10 and I get my 1st fill next Tuesday. Trust me, everything you all went through I can certainly relate. -
I just looked at LB and I'm a "RED". LOL:whoo:
-
Lo2us, that's too cute, but it's makes me feel good to say, "these are a size 6". No one has to know that I bought them from LB. Hippmom, I like your ticker, too. Does that turtle has a firecracker on his back? TP, keep us informed after the surgery and don't forget your friend, the heating pad. LOL Lisa, you are nice and if anyone disagrees with "us", I'll beat them up for you cause I haven't lost as much, so I'm still a "heavy weight". LOL:bandit

Did they weigh you on surgery day?
A lot less replied to mermaidpuppy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mermaidpuppy, welcome to Lap bandland!!!! I was weighted when I went in for surgery. Don't be nervous, you still have today and tomoorw to walk and cut back on your food. Are you on a liquid diet+a salad? -
i am staying on plan today because ...
A lot less replied to losingjusme's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm staying on the plan because my 35 year old daughter will be graduating college this month and I have to see my ex and his wife and I want him to think ALL day "what if". LOL Plus anyway I'm finally loving me and my NEW hubby loves it. -
LOL, this is too funny about the "ticker" thing. You had to tell me how to do it also. You are getting good practice. You need to create a web on how to do it and all we have to do is click on it. :bounce:

The best to you Bloo.!!! And welcome!!!!!!

Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?
A lot less replied to sweet_thang0792's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
We were told to get 1000-1200 calories daily. At our support group they said to do 1000 one day, 1100 the next (fooling the body), but not to make it the same amt everyday. I think that every doctor might be a little different, but from I've been reading the advice is real close to being the same. -

Getting nervous - question about alcohol
A lot less replied to cyndymot's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cyn, I was told that you can drink alcohol, but it's considered "empty" calories. So if you drink, maybe just one won't hurt your calorie intake. You'll do good. I was afraid too, but I needed the help. I haven't had a fill yet (surgery 8/10 and fill 9/11) but I have a friend that had surgery too and we sort of help each other. This website is wonderful and everyone will be a big help. -
Major Hairloss..Any suggestions?

Good morning ladies, I was told to take biotin. I haven't had any hair loss (surgery 8/10/07), but it won't hurt to take it and I also take vitamins. I haven't had a fill (9/10) yet, so I'm not counting calories until then. Also you might check how much protein you are getting. -
Good morning all, Glad to hear Lo2us that you are doing a little better. Take care of yourself and I want to hear about the size 6 jeans. It is such a distant dream for me right now, but I'm going to be just like you when I grow up. LOL Julie, my hair is not thinning, but I'm just doing preventive care and I know that it won't hurt me, I'll have beautiful nails and hopefully my hair won't thin. Hippmom, I hope that you are feeling better today. Hope the dark cloud has lifted.:rain: LOL, it's bound to be sunshine soon. Morning, Lisa and Sugarbear. :bounce:

Happy Labor Day Everyone!!!!!!!!!:clap2:

Lisa, I bought me some papaya enyzmes tablets (chewable), too. I haven't had a problem yet (except for the time that "boiled egg" just sat on my chest). and I guess I was so afraid I forgot to use them. Do you think the 1000mg of Biotin will be enough? My hair is not thinning or anything, but it still won't hurt to use it. I'll have beautiful nails and hair. LOL LO2us, how are you feeling?
