Arin, I too utterly hate vomiting, but I have twice since banded, but it was my fault--why?---I ate too fast and didn't chew well. I am learning (slowly) to eat correctly and slow down. I read on a thread for "fast eaters" to look at your food for five minutes, then eat. Well, I said that I was "SLOW",LOL and I still am practicing. I had my 1st fill, but I have no restriction, but I'll have my 2nd next Tuesday and I'm looking forward to having some restriction (although I'm terrified of needles, but that's a different story, LOL). I have found so much support here, so continue to post and read, but we are all different and we all react to some things different. The band was the best thing for me. My DH still doesn' t really support me, but that's because HE has chosen not to concern himself with the things I eat. He still thinks I can drink sodas (I loved colas) and daily I tell him that I can't. He certainly notices the weight lost, now that's where he concerns himself. LOL I know that you want that support, but after all, it's your life and your body.

Hi Bekkie, I was banded 08/10 and this is the right place to go for answers. I had a little gas after the surgery (I have it regularly now, LOL ,it's probably the food choices that I make) but I took the Gas X strips and the more you walk, it too shall pass. It's to be expected the soreness and all, but as the swelling goes down, you'll began to feel better. How long are you off wk? I would not pick up anything heavy. I milked that with my DH until he realized I could do anything over a period of time. While you are home, get your rest, but walk and remember to sip and walk, sip and walk. Make sure you also follow the rules to the letter. Take care.

Lisa, it was nice to put a face to the emails. It was nice to meet you finally. I will try to help Lou get on soon. Hippmom, the mtg was good. Betty looks good, too. I was late for the mtg, but I had the chance to get some tips. I hope the next fill will do something for me. Hope you get to feeling better soon. The weather is too pretty to be stuck in the house sick.:sick Thanks, LO2, I'll get some B12. Do they come in liquid or chewable? I know that the biotin I take is small enough to swallow, so if the b12 is that small, I will get it. What about the calcuim? Sorry to ask so many ???'s.

Best wishes NewJ, let us know how you're doing.
-
Lo2, do you take B-12 everyday? I don't get tired, but if I need it, I'll buy me some. Also, does everyone take calcuim daily?
-
Arkie, hang on in there and listen to Sugar and Lisa, everyone here helped me make it through those times. Lisa, I hope to be there, but if the weather is bad, I'll have to make the next one. Is your DS still having a game? L2, glad that you're back and H/C is over. We had ours Friday night, too. Susan, how's things going?

I live in Omaha,TX and was banded in Texarkana 8/10. I attend a support group in Mt. Pleasant (Titus Hospital) every 3rd Monday. I know that it would be too far for either of us to attend the other, but I'd love to post on this site. I also post on the "Texarkana Bandsters", they are great, but I'd like to post here as well. -
I had my 1st fill 9/11 and had no restriction and will get my 2nd 10/23. First day I had liquids and 2nd day mushies. I am terrified of needles and the doctor had to stick me twice cause he couldn't find the port (but he was a sweetheart), I asked him to talk to me while he was doing it to get my mind off the needle thing, although I never heard a thing he said, LOL. When he finished I could have kissed him cause it was over. I hope that it's non-eventful this time, I am 45 minutes away from my home, but I have to drive an hr to get to work so I won't be counted for a 1/2 day. The students always tell me to drive careful and slow to give them a break. LOL

*** life at 3wks of being banned****

I can agree with all of you. I had my first fill (9/11) and I have no restriction and stay hungry ALL the time and if I don't stop myself I WILL eat all day. I try to eat healthy, but even eating healthy all day is still not good. Darragha, I crave meats or anything salty. I take my vitamins, Biotin (for hair/nails) and I am going to start taking calicum tablets. I will have my 2nd fill 9/23 and I hope that will help a little. I have heard of some bandsters feeling a good bit of restriction on the 2nd fill. Hope I can. LOL -
Good morning all, Had my first "slime" last night. I didn't chew properly and I paid for that. I had my first fill with no restriction and I guess I am use to eating without thinking to chew properly. Susan, I enjoyed seeing you last night, sorry I didn't get to tell you bye. Everyone Susan looked good, even if her size 16's were baggy. LOL Lisa, I'll be looking for you Monday night. Lisa, I don't think I ever looked at my food for 5 minutes, but if it helps, I will try. L2, excited on your weight loss. Hope my 2nd fill will be successful.

Great post Cookie, You put the words so elegantly. I'm sure we ALL relate. I had a problem leaving my "cola's", but juice, crystal light and the cheap drink water makes me feel so much better, especially my skin, etc. Kudo's to you. I'd still like to have FOOD as a friend, but never again as my lover. LOL -
Congrats, 4U.

Opps, meant, Congrats!!!!! LOL

:scared:Congrats, Jachut, You look wonderful. I was just happy that I can now wear my daughters clothes, if I can get your size, I'll be smaller than her. LOL -
Julie, Tiffani rec'd a B.S. with a certification in Human Resources and I had to just call her to ask what was the masters in. LOL, It will be Business Administration. She laughs everytime I ask and says "listen, old lady, it's such and such". I'm so proud that it could be anything. LOL Gosh, I might have to wait for the ins with 10%. Keep the faith and I feel confident that you will meet all the requirements. Yes, I know about the full/parttime jobs. My husband and I have those too. My daughter wants me to go back to school, but I already know everything (LOL) so my grandbabies think. I don't know what I'd like to do. At 55, I'm tired, I just want to retire, travel, get up when I want and shop. Sorry to be a "chatty cathy". But I'm proud of her. I go to the meetings in Mt. Pleasant, but maybe one day we will meet at the office. I have my 2nd fill Oct. 23rd. Keep the faith.

Good morning everyone, Glad to read everyone had a good weekend. I went to Baton Rouge to see my daughter graduate. I am so proud of her. She will start again in December for her Master's now. Sorry Lisa, I didn't stay in my box. I don't think I was anywhere near it. LOL I don't think I gained, but I KNOW I didn't lose. LOL I am back on track now. Welcome, Arkie!!!!!! Julie, did you call the ins yourself? Betty told me that I could them and I guess that I bothered them so much, they approved me. LOL I'm sure that they were going to anyway, I just speeded things up. I called EVERYDAY, and when the lady told me, I called Betty and she gave me a surgery date. Wishing you much blessings.
